What was meant to be a pleasant evening THAT WAS MY FRIENDS BIRTHDAY it quickly devolved into an incredibly uncomfortable experience due to the behavior of one of your servers. Not only were we treated with palpable dismissiveness upon arrival, but what transpired afterward was flat-out unacceptable. While we were seated, we could clearly hear a server and bar patron speaking negatively about us -- completely within earshot. The comments were unprovoked, unprofessional, and shockingly petty. It's one thing to be treated with indifference, but to overhear disparaging remarks about your presence, appearance, or behavior from a PAYING CUSTOMER of the establishment is beyond inappropriate. This kind of conduct is absolutely not in line with the caliber of service expected at a venue positioning itself as upscale or refined. It reflects a stunning lack of training, oversight, and basic customer respect. Instead of fostering a welcoming, elevated environment, this bartender chose to gossip with patrons like they were in a high school cafeteria. Needless to say, we won't be returning -- and we'll be sharing this experience with others who value professionalism and class when they choose where to spend their money. Had a really disappointing experience with one of the managers during our visit. A blonde woman who identified herself as a manager approached us in a very rude and confrontational way, telling us we couldn't stand in a certain area. Instead of explaining the issue respectfully, she escalated the situation and got into a heated exchange with us. To top it off, she then slapped a magnet sign in the area saying not to stand there -- which felt incredibly petty and passive-aggressive. The whole encounter was unprofessional and left a bad impression. Definitely expected better behavior from someone in a leadership role. read more

Came here for happy hour after work. Olivia was our server and she was absolutely amazing. She truly sets the bar at an all time high. Her recommendations were spot on. She was there to address drink refills before the last sip. An absolute gem. Highly recommend her as a server! Their old fashions are great. Lots of great drink choices and they have great specials for happy hour. The food is absolutely amazing. It's like Michelin star quality food. We only had a couple of appetizers but they were outstanding! Good selection of cigars as well, although the two that we had picked are difficult to smoke. We had to continuously relight them close to about 20 times. Duds. I likely wouldn't get another cigar from here. I'm looking forward to coming back here again and again. I love their indoor/outdoor space and the drinks are good. We came here to pre game an Escape Room. It was around 4:30 p.m. on a Wednesday so there wasn't anyone else here yet. The bartender was really nice. I got a dirty martini and my coworkers got whiskey. I'm guessing the whiskey selection here is top notch, since my coworker who chose this place really enjoys his bourbon. I enjoyed my dirty martini. They have a lot of sofa seating outside and a couple of tables. I like that it's covered and the ceiling has fans and it has heat lamps (I know, heat lamps in Florida? It happens that we are having an abnormally long winter so this is one time that heat lamp was appreciated.) I'd like to know how they keep their outdoor furniture so clean, because I am not able to do that. This place is right in the heart of a lot of restaurants/bars so it's a great place to hang out for a night. read more

Popped in on a Monday night and was pleasantly surprised to see they had live music even on a Monday. Although I'm sure the neighbors probably wish they had some reprieve from what seems like an amplification competition between F&D and Tryst next door, the sound level wasn't nearly as bad as on a weekend night. On a weekend night, you can't carry on a conversation as you walk past these 2 places because of the volume. But tonight it was an appropriate sound level and they had the fans on full blast outside. The highlight was the cool fans set up, which would have made for a really comfortable time sitting on the patio, if it weren't for getting inundated with cigar smoke. At the time, there were 4 different people smoking cigars outside, and with the fans blowing, there was no escaping having to wash my hair immediately when I got home because I smelled like an ash tray...which is the only reason I can't make this patio a regular weeknight watering hole hangout. read more

We were walking to the Parkside Grill for dinner when we passed the Flute and Dram, which looked like my kind of place -- a bar that offers a very solid selection of bourbons, a dark wood interior with outdoor seating, and cigars for sale. My wife and I are all about finding a bar with cool vibes and a nice whiskey selection; therefore, going to this place for an after-dinner drink or two made sense. We spent a good couple of hours outside on one of the patio sofas while a musician played his guitar in front of the storefront of Flute and Dram. Situated on Beach Drive, this place has good vibes that lead to good times. I enjoyed a pour of Weller Antique 107 and Four Roses Small Batch Select while smoking on an Oliva Serie V Melanio. The pours for what I ordered weren't astronomical ($16-18 per pour, which is decent for what I had). The bartender was great and attended to us fairly quickly. I would return the next time we stay in downtown St. Petersburg. read more

There's at least one live artist each night. On the night we were there, there were THREE. We've had different wait staff and never had a bad experience. My husband and I stumbled upon Flute and Dram when we were taking a stroll along Beach Drive. Their sidewalk sign advertising champagne, cocktails and caviar immediately drew us in. We were hesitant to stop in with our one and three year old boys, but there was only one couple at the bar and the bartender assured us that the crowd would be mellow at 2pm. The interior of Flute and Dram has a cool "man cave" vibe with lots of dark wood and large, comfortable leather couches. My husband was immediately intrigued by the bottle of whisky that was sitting next to Pappy Van Winkle on the bar. I selected a glass of champagne recommended by our waitress. We were both very pleased with our choices. What pairs best with expensive whiskey and champagne? Caviar! In addition to the caviar we ordered a wagyu carpaccio, tuna tartare, and a prosciutto and melon appetizer. We were interested in the foie gras and burrata, but sadly neither of those appetizers were available during our visit. All of our appetizers were beautifully presented with high quality ingredients. The tuna tartare was my favorite appetizer on the menu. I was slightly disappointed that the restaurant doesn't serve any bread and our caviar was served with water crackers instead of blinis (Russian pancakes), toast points or bread. I don't think it would cost more to serve bread from one of the local bakeries instead of boring water crackers from a box. These small details make the difference between a four star and five star experience. My husband and I don't usually blow $400 on an afternoon snack, but we rarely go out since we have kids and felt in the mood to splurge. Such a great bar by the St.Pete Pier! The service was great and I really enjoyed how they have two sections , one for social and live music then the other side for more quiet one on one type convos. Both sides have bars so you can decide what area is your mood for the night! I had a great time tonight for Rosé Night and would def be back next time I'm in St.Pete! read more

Loved this cool little spot on St. Pete! We ended up stopping here after a long day on the pier and beach. We were swayed in by the spacious outdoor seating and live music (my fave ). I'll be honest, I was already pretty tipsy when we got here so I don't remember if they have food or not but their drinks were fantastic! They service was quick and speedy, even though it was pretty crowded for a Sunday night. The live music was such a vibe out on the patio with the Florida sun. A great place for a happy hour or to stop for a night cap. They also have cigars you can order and smoke on the patio!! My man loved that. The first night I walked into F&D back in 2021 was the 2nd night I had moved into the area not knowing anyone. Wanting a champagne, I walked with little expectations. I was greeted warmly by Steve who welcomed me to a seat, diving into the various champagne and bourbons he had available while he artfully tossed shakers theough the air. Feeling ambitious, I started to ask questions about the area, nightlife and Steve walked me through the crash course of St Pete. I was impressed. His service was excellent, and I felt more at home than any other bar I'd been too in a long time. 4 years later, I'm glad to call St Pete my home, Flute N Dram my favorite go to, and I've met some extraordinary people including Steve who have become close friends thanks to magic of the place and its people. Don't know where else I'd recommend in St Pete for a drink or another wonderful group to take care of you when you visit. read more

Found this place by chance and decided to check it out. 100% recommend it. We had a small plate of smoked salmon and one rose champagne flight and a whiskey. Anyway it didn't stop us... but the bar tender completely ignored us even though there was only like 10 people in the bar.
