Stumbled upon this coffee shop while I was in downtown St Pete and decided to check it out. It is located in the lobby of the Cordova Inn. The ambience and space is beautifully decorated and had a very welcoming feel. I sat outside on the porch to sip my coffee and it was a very cozy and chill vibe. I believe this is technically a cocktail bar but there were plenty of coffee items to choose from (and of course alcoholic beverages). I chose the "snickerdoodle latte" from the seasonal coffee menu. The price was very reasonable for a latte. The barista serving me was very nice and didn't take long to receive my drink. The coffee itself was just okay - the flavor was not to my liking. However, I will be going back to try the other coffee options they have as well as trying their bar menu at some point. read more

GREAT prices for the good beverage selection they offer. Service was also very friendly and swift. I ordered a Snickerdoodle latte that was tasty and a great size [16 oz. for $5!] Came around lunch time on a Monday and some renovations were taking place inside though, so keep that in mind if you're thinking on coming here to work [outdoor seating would be best, then]. Beautiful venue too - would love to go back for a wine and charcuterie date or girls night! I'm sure any construction work would be wrapped up for the day by then too. read more

I used to come here all the time when I first moved to St. Pete - not sure how (or why) it fell off my radar, but I'm glad I came back. The vibe is still great, and the coffee might be even better than I remember. I ordered a vanilla latte and it was hot, hot, hot (in the best way). The vanilla was flavorful without being too sweet - just right. Prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality. Service was quick, which made the experience even better. Only minor downsides: they were out of lids, and they don't offer non-fat milk. Not a deal breaker, just something to note. I don't drink but I love having a coffee option that's open a bit later in the evening with a cozy area to hang out for a bit. I have stopped into the Scott a few times now, always in the evening, so I could basically exist in a lounge type space with other adults and not feel weird about ordering something that isn't alcohol. It's about a 50-50 shot of other patrons being chatty and friendly or just existing in their own world. There's usually a mix of locals and out of town visitors, and I'm not sure if I would have expected that in a boutique hotel's lobby bar. I have ordered hot espresso-based drinks and iced drinks and it's always good. You won't have a huge selection of drinks and flavors like a normal coffee shop, but it works perfectly well for this coffee and booze combination bar. The bartenders are always very polite and nice, very quick to offer up suggestions if you ask. 10/10 ambiance but the parking situation can be a bit messy. I usually end up parking a couple blocks away and meandering over because the paid lot adjacent to it is one of those 717 ones (super predatory). read more

I think I'm in love, and nothing makes me happier than finding a good coffee spot! (truth). Also, I've considered asking the batista there to be my new best friend. Yeah, the coffee is just that good. It's not your average coffee, its got a nice creamy flavor, which beautiful bubbly subtle froth, silky smooth coffee flavor in every sip and last but not least, a subtle hint and finishing touch of orgeat and rose, with beautiful petals delicately placed on top (mine was an oatmilk orgeat rose latte). This is not just a coffee. It's a labor of love. My friend ordered a chai latte (her favorite thing), and her being the Chai latte queen gave her seal of approval! The service is fantastic. The batista is not only lovely, friendly, and attentive but you can tell she's knowledgeable and confident in her suggestions. The decor is very classy and elegant, the library section could be my office and id never leave (I'm sure the staff wouldn't appreciate that heh). The couches and there are quite a few, very comfy. Lovely, cozy space with comfortable seats inside and outside. Price is rather high (~$15 not including tip) but when you want a little 'sumthin' from the bar in your coffee then that's probably about 'right' for this area. Super cute coffee/tea/pastry shop in DTSP at The Cordova Inn. It becomes a cocktail bar at night. They have a nice shaded porch to sit on that includes rocking chairs, tables & chairs. The menu is limited and from a local baker and not baked onsite, but our items were very fresh. We split a vanilla cream cruffin which was tasty, not a traditional cruffin. It was the same puff pastry as the quiche and ham/cheese pocket. The quiche is custardy and vegetarian. A cute place that is worth a visit. Enjoy! read more

This is one of the only other places I've been gate keeping for a little while. The Scott is one of my favorite hotel bars in st Pete. It's a small bar that only seats like 15-20 people inside the Cordova inn and I haven't been since they started renovations so some photos may be out of date. But I absolutely love the vibes in here of a boutique hotel bar with an interesting menu. They deck it out for Xmas as a winter wonder land. Favorite drink by far is The Scott which is a take on an old fashion. The Cynar sour is interesting and showcases Cynar which is an artichoke aperitif. Also making a killer Negroni and bees knees. Loved this quaint cozy bar tucked away from the hustle and bustle of busy streets. Stepping into the "parlor" of the Cordova and being greeted by the bartender was awesome! Adorable coffee and cocktails spot inside the historic Cordova inn. The hotel overall is thriving after the low income apartments that used to sit alongside it were sadly demolished. The small bar in front serves espresso drinks and their nightly cocktail menu has some more sophisticated choices, including my favorite-the French 75. My teenager and I were in search of a hot cup of coffee. I remembered that I have been wanting to stop by and try The Scott. I am so glad we did! This place is so cozy and relaxing. There weren't alit of people there during our visit because there were a lot of Christmas events happening through out St. Pete that night. We kind of felt like the Gilmore Girls at a cozy inn on a cold fall night, drinking big cups of coffee by a fire place. My fiancé and I enjoyed our visit to The Scott, the coffee shop/bar located at the entrance of the Cordova Inn. He ordered the mocha cold brew with almond milk, and found it to be a delightful choice. As for me, I opted for a summer spritzer infused with passion fruit, which proved to be incredibly refreshing. Service was friendly and other guests were very nice too. We particularly loved the cozy and cute small living room area where we sat down to study. The prices at The Scott were reasonable, falling within the standard range. For parking, there were metered spots available in the front, and if you preferred city parking, there was a convenient option beside the hotel accessible through the Park Mobile app. It's worth noting, however, that the weekend parking rate was a bit pricey at $15, and unfortunately, there was no hourly rate available. Only during weekdays. Overall, our visit to The Scott was a pleasant experience. Their crafted cocktail menu sounds very interesting. Their website says they have Happy Hour Monday - Thursday 5pm - 7pm. Their food menu is very small, but we were told that they are going through a transition. If you're looking for a charming coffee shop/bar with tasty drinks and a cozy atmosphere, The Scott is definitely worth a visit. read more

Fantastic drinks, everything i've tried in the menu so far has amazed me (espresso martini number 1!). We have grabbed coffee here in the morning, and they are squeezing fresh lemons to prep for cocktails, so you know everything is fresh. Service is always good, and even though sometimes it takes a while it is worth the wait (it gets busy at night sometimes and there is only one person behind the bar). The place is cozy, with a small room to the side where you can hang out in couches. We usually stay at the bar if it's not too busy. We've only lived in the area a few months and there are a ton of places to discover, but this is one of the places we keep going back to just because it's more laid back, but drinks are superb. read more

Lady and I were on a ghost tour of downtown St. Pete. Apparently, the Vinoy and some other hotels are built on native burial grounds and Al Capone had a tunnel system under the buildings in downtown to run alcohol during prohibition to his basement speakeasies and such. But I digress. One of the stops was the Cordova Hotel where The Scott is located and we were encouraged to get a drink. To the bartenders' credit, they didn't blink an eye when 20 people walked in at once. One took the orders and the other started plugging away. The lobby of the Scott is very nice, if small. Kind of reminds you of a fancy home's sitting room and library, with a comfortable outdoor patio. I had high hopes and had been meaning to get here for a while, since the local blogs had talked about this as the next great whiskey bar to open in the city. As a whiskey bar, it is disappointing. Small bar and small selection. As bartenders at a whiskey bar, even more disappointing. Start with the old fashioned, which you better make well at a whiskey bar. I knew it would be bad from one look - plastic cup full of ice. I won't fault them too bad for a plastic cup, but you really should have enough glassware to accommodate 20 people, especially when not everyone will need a highball glass. The cup full of ice, in a whiskey bar/speakeasy kind of place, for an old fashioned, is criminal. Finally, taste wise, watered down, not balanced, and just not great. We also got a Manhattan. I asked for it straight up from the bartender taking the orders. However, she apparently never communicated our order over to the other bartender because everyone else got their drinks and they they looked at me wondering what I wanted. In any event, the mixologist of the two finally started making the drinks and I reminded her I wanted the Manhattan "straight up." Her response - "what do you mean?" I honestly didn't know how to reply to that. What do you mean, what do I mean? Straight up. It is the one of the top two most common bartending terms along with "on the rocks." It means the exact opposite of "on the rocks." But what I said was, "strained into a glass without ice." Her snide remark was, "that's how its made." Bull. That may be how you make it but if so, (a) know the terminology, (b) understand there are two ways of making it - rocks and straight up, and (c), just because you make it one way doesn't mean everyone else does and you don't have to be rude about it. Finally, my lady got the spiced pumpkin white russian. While I could taste the hint of spice, this was basically a glass of water. To the bartender's defense, we did get it with almond milk, not cream, so that definitely would have affected the taste. I would have hoped not as much, but it might have been watered down so badly from a combination of a bucket of ice in the cup and using almond milk. Bad drink, but not necessarily the bartender's fault if we just ordered stupidly. In any event, even if the white russian disaster was our fault, the rest of it wasn't. I'm going 2 stars because the bartender taking the order was very friendly even if her co-worker was not, and I do like the look and feel of the place. But your drinks are made badly, your mixologist has an attitude and apparently doesn't understand basic bartending terminology, and you forgot to make our order. Not a great experience, and so, not a great review. read more

The Scott inside of the Cordova Inn is one of my favorites in town for a latte! The lobby decor has a classy and glamorous feel and they've incorporated old photos of downtown St. Pete on the walls. It makes you feel like hanging out for awhile. There's also an attached front porch with rocking chairs, tables, and light music playing-- it's quite the ambiance! Their hazelnut latte is incredible, they use local Hogg Batch coffee which is made in spirit infused barrels (often bourbon) to create dynamic flavor profiles! Additionally, their bar menu has all the cult classics, simple but sophisticated. If you've yet to try The Scott, you need too! Note: at first I didn't realize how close it is to all the other bars on Central but it's just a 5 minute walk that way and maybe another 5 to the pier read more

Good looking lobby bar well located in DTSP. They just need to work on their cocktail program. Now that the craft cocktail movement has spread, they do not do the basics of good service or good drinks. They used dry vermouth in the Manhattan, then shake the cocktail then pour it into a warm glass. Read a book about how to make proper cocktails, please. If a couple orders two drinks, do not make the drinks separately and serve them one at a time. Stir cocktails that do not use juice or dairy. Chill your glasses. This may sound like the rantings of a cocktail snob, but paying $13 for a Negroni comes with higher expectations. read more
