If there's one thing I hate, it would have to be FLAKES ! My personal barbers/acquaintances have a tendency to tap out on my appointment. One thing I do enjoy is the convenience So Cal Barbershop offers. So Cal Barbershop never fails me at appointments in all honesty, and the same can be said about their haircuts. I took both my younger brothers, as well as myself, for a haircut. The results were just as expected. Smooth cutting and lining. No rough friction between the head and the machine. No constant reforming of the line-up which can ultimately irritate the skin or cut it. I've gotten my line-up pushed back and cut up so many times, but So Cal hasn't cut me so far, so that's a plus. I came in for a simple Mid-fade with a number 2 trimming along with a line-up. My barber that day was David and he nailed it on my mid-fade. I could automatically tell David was very meticulous over his craft, for he didn't rush a thing and kept his calm at all times. On top of that he welcomed me with good conversation , in which truly passed the time. I would definitely recommend David to anyone in need of a great cut. In addition to recommended barbers, Angel gave my brother one of the best comb overs in a while I would have to say. Javier also did an amazing job to my other brother's Taper, so I would recommend him as well. So Cal is a good choice due to it's close proximity to the core of Oxnard California. Cold Stone, Corner Pocket, Plaza Cinemas, Subway, and Mexican restaurants are within walking distance of So Cal Barbershop. Futhermore, I have been to Hair Mechaniks, Mikes Barbershop, Supercuts, Cut Master's, and when I was desperate, I even stepped into hair salons. They were all okay but I enjoyed So Cal Barbershop just a little more than the rest. read more

First time in this place. Came with my 12 year old. Walked in there were 2 barbers in the front 3 in the back. Sat down and was not greeted. After 30 minutes 3 to 4 young men came in after me.They didnt have appointments either. 1 of the barbers who had pins or buttons on his vest/ red cap .. Stepped outside to answer his cell while with a client and as he passes informed me they will be right with me. He came back in finished with his client... Cleaned his area for about 15 minutes. After that he asked who the cut was for ,I said my son.He doesnt answer anything and steps away. Another barber comes and he takes one of the young men that came in after me.The buttons guy then tells me that there aremore barbers in the back , to go and I will be helped. As I get up to go he asks the guy next to me if he needs a cut and takes him. Ok now Im thinking they are not kid friendly here. When I get to the back with my son and also my 9 yr daughter ,there are 3 barbers only one who is cutting hair and they see me like.. What are you doing here. I tell them I was sent there and told they would do the cut. They look at eachother and them Im asked to take a seat again. Right in front of us there is a picture of a woman ass and boobs out... Really Guys!!!! I know its a barber shop but come on... At least keep the kids in the front.. Common sense here. After waiting more than one hour I leave and notice everyone that came after I did was being helped. I got the runaround and even my son noticed that no one wanted to take us as clients. This place feels uncomfortable and unprofessional. I would not recommend it to anyone that has kids or that like manners being used. Went in for a cut, I got in a chair pretty fast but my barber fu**ed my cut up it was a basic cut too workers mostly spent time on phones and chatting, employees are just unprofessional little kids, over heard employees talking over a pair of scissors then started to argue and mentioned going out to the back to "run the fade" also someone was smoking in the shop and the music was horrible af how y'all gonna have tupac posters and bumping that mumble rap trash, employees are extremely inappropriate heard them talking about underage orgys this place is horrible af!!!!!!! read more

I had been looking for a local barber for some time. I drove by this location and decided to give it a try. The barber that helped me was good and very professional. The barbershop has an atmosphere that caters to young people. It has a full size pool table in the back and a reasonable sized tv. I was happy with the haircut but I did feel out of place. I know I would have enjoyed a place like this back when I was in high school or college. I would most likely go again, at least until I find the barbershop I'm looking for. read more

have been going to this barbershop since it opened was new in my city figured i'd give it a try. went was immediately greeted and shortly after taken to the chair for my haircut. The barbers name was chris ever since that haircut i refuse to go elsewhere. his chair is in the back by the pool table. yes they have a pool table to kill time if u dont have an appointment. super clean friendly environment and vibe, good haircuts at a good price. read more

This barbershop took care of me and hooked me up rite , I went to a barbershop down the block on c st call the " lunch barbershop " or something like that and they messed up my haircut I called in last night to make an appointment and they even worked up earlier and open the shop 2 hours earlier for my appointment, I was really thankful and satisfied , definitely will be coming back and not to be other shop that should be charging less !! read more

I heard about this shop through Instagram I clicked on their insta page and liked most of their pictures , I made an appointment with Nathan through Instagram and loved the way he cut my hair perfect fade left the line up crispy and dark and used the razor at the end on my neck ! Jacob did a great job cutting my son's hair. The young barber was patient and willing to try new styles and cuts. As a mom I felt comfortable and safe in the environment.
