I recently used another company to install tile downstairs and although the work was fine there was enough lacking that I decided to shop around for the upper floors. I had a specific look in mind and brought in a piece of tile that I wanted to match Vinyl to. The sales manager, Misael, was extremely helpful. He asked me a few questions to understand what I wanted and then went to pull a few samples - and found the perfect one. He went above and beyond by finding the baseboard I currently have since it wasn't a style that they carry it stock when he could have easily made me choose from what they had. Misael kept communication with me open through the entire process. He let me know when the product was ordered, that it came in, he stopped by on the day of installation to make sure we were all on the same page and at the very end to make sure I was 100% happy with everything. Junior and his team did the installation and they are the best! They arrived on time every day, took really good care of moving my furniture and did an amazing job with the floors. They did the entire upper level and stairs in a few days and left my place clean (another vendor left dents, scratches, dirty handprints on my walls and white sofa, yuck!) Since this was during covid I want to mention they wore masks the entire time and took all the necessary safety precautions. We had such a great experience working with Misael and the installation crew from SoCal. Our condo building recommended SoCal and I'm so glad they did. The store had a huge selection and it did not take long to find the one I wanted. They came to do measurements the next day and the installation was a week later. The job took three days and that was with our subfloor needing some work once the old carpet came up. Misael texted me every day with an update too. The *only* thing I would plan on is doing a top-to-bottom deep clean once the install is done, cause there was a lot of wood and floor grind dust all over everything. Misael was recommended by my amazing realtor, Noah Grassi. I had four quotes from different vendors and picked this company based upon their quality of work, capabilities, timing, cost, availability, and the wide range of products available. Misael is easy to work and communicate with. He worked to get me a quote quickly, went over the products in person, let me take the products with me so that I can compare them on site, and adjusted to a last minute change in schedule. He was available even during hours in which he wasn't supposed to be working, answered my questions and calls during and after office hours and during weekends, and he checked in quite a bit during the entire process to make sure I was happy with the progress and work. I greatly appreciated that he took the time to work with me and address my every thought since I had many questions, comments, and concerns. Junior, Brenda, and Leonardo were amazing at installing the floors. Not only were they friendly, were very COVID safe, professional, and helpful but they also worked diligently, long hours, efficiently and quickly without lacking quality. They finished in the whole 1700 square feet of leveling and flooring while tacking on all of my random items such as helping me with some damages that were already there, removing and disposing of an old built in desk, removing some closet doors and tracks that had to be removed, placed in another room, and then placed back (not easy considering the room location and situation), helped me with some amazing design decisions as well as DIY suggestions around the house that I completed and I am very happy with because their suggestions were much better than mines, made some amazing calls with the flooring, connections, and baseboards, the custom work to go around the cables, connections, and other obstacles was flawless, the sealing they did on baseboards were amazing (and they showed me how to do it), the paint they did was an amazing choice, helped me estimate how much flooring is needed for my upcoming remodel, dealing with the transitions between the non-remodeled and remodeled sections of the house, and so much more! They had so many obstacles including the surprise double layer of tile, the many changes that I requested, and the last minute change that required them to take the entire kitchen flooring back out, make changes to the leveling, and placing the flooring back in with that happening at the final evening, they still finished on time so I could move in the next day, which was a shocking one day early! They were already on a tight time constraint and they managed to finish it quickly. They left my place cleaned with some gorgeous flooring where the LVP was laid out amazingly without any issues. They had to mix numerous boxes to get the layout as perfect as I was hoping it to be. I am very grateful that they were the ones working on my place and how much work and effort they put into making my home perfect. First of all, I was very impressed with how fast Mike and his team were able to help us with our carpet replacement. We needed ours done with only a week's notice and we were able to come in and look through everything he had in stock and pick out a really nice carpet and a padding. We had looked into Home Depot and their team had told us they couldn't get carpet to our place for a month at least. On top of that, SoCal was very flexible and understanding with coming out to measure. We were in the middle of buying the home and the current resident kept saying she couldn't be home to let the crew in to measure. We had to reschedule 3 times, but I never heard a complaint from Mike's team. When it came to the installation, the crew did a great job. All of the carpet on our floating staircase and upstairs bedrooms was replaced in about 6 hours. We are loving our carpet, especially since we've been spending most of our time at home these days. We went a little outside our budget, but we don't regret it for a second every time our feet hit the carpet in the morning! There was a little bit of a mess, but the team did come back out to vacuum and Mike mentioned it's a normal part of the carpet breaking in. This review is long overdue. This is the 2nd time I've used SoCal flooring in less than a year. The first around, we needed brand new flooring in our home we bought last year. SoCal flooring came highly recommended by a couple friends of mine so my husband and I checked out their showroom. This was a nightmare of a flooring install. Mike was the manager in charge but was not there to manage the crew. The crew was haphazard in the care of my furniture and belongings as they did the install. I found my TV in the sink, nice wood furniture stacked onto the deck with pieces falling over each other, hence scratching and dents. My daughter and I were forced to live elsewhere for 4 nights as the place was not livable. We could not access our clothing, anything in the kitchen, the toilets were sitting in the bathtubs, etc. They did give me some compensation for the loss due to damaged furniture, hotel costs, etc. But I don't think it was enough. I found this place in a flyer and decided that we should add it to our list of quotes for carpeting a few rooms and a master closet. This place offers all types of flooring. Ricardo helped us since I was looking for something that had texture and easy on my pocketbook. His quote came in well below the other companies for the exact same product and work. He even helped me out by offering to do our master closet using a remnant piece so that I can get a better deal. Put a deposit down on Monday and by Thursday the job was complete. These guys are great! We've hired SoCal twice now - the first time was to install carpet, the second was to install hardwood and tile. They have a great selection to choose from, and they can usually begin installation within a few days. The price was reasonable (you get what you pay for and personally, I am happy to pay a bit more for really good service), and they were super helpful, friendly and easy to deal with from start to finish. Mike, the owner, really cares about serving the customer, and he gave us a nice little discount off of our second job just to thank us for being a repeat customer. I couldn't get in touch with anyone at this company, and when I finally could, the communication was incredibly delayed. I couldn't get anyone out to the house to even quote what the price would be for the job I needed to have done. We were told more than once that someone would be out to look at it, but every time we were expecting someone, something would come up on their end to delay their visit. We were never actually visited, and when I reached back out to ask what the issue was, I were told they were now booked up but they apologized. I needed to have some vertical patterned carpet replaced on some stairs in a townhouse. This was my first time using this company that I found through searching yelp. I figured that if they have such great reviews they will do a great job and maybe I would use them again for much larger projects. Everything seemed fine in the beginning and Brian seemed to give me a reasonable price. I told him I wanted them to do a quality job even if it cost me more. Brian told me that the carpet I picked required a lot of work and needed an installer with lots of experience to be able to install it so they couldn't give me any kind of discount on the price. Anyway, I had to work and was not able to supervise the installer but I figured this was a small job and he knew what he was doing. However, I was surprised to see afterwards that he messed up half of the stairs by installing the carpet oriented in the horizontal instead of vertical direction. Also, they didn't install as much padding as there was before so the steps hurt your joints going up and down. No big deal though because I figured when I would call them they would be understanding and fix this right away, right? Wrong!! I don't know if it was because I paid for everything upfront but when I spoke with Brian afterwards I was shocked at how condescending he suddenly was towards me in telling me the carpet was installed correctly and with more padding than before. The customer service was horrendous and I had to call back several times because he wouldn't be available and didn't return my phone calls/voice mails. Furthermore, he accused me of picking the thickness of the padding when it was never even presented to me when I was in the showroom. I told him I would not let this stand and I would contact the BBB, contractors license board, and take them to court if I had to. It was only after I told him this that he had me send him pictures of the work where he finally admitted it was installed wrong but still claimed that the padding was fine and more than before. Anyway, they eventually fixed it and I'm now satisfied with the job but I will never use this company for anything else again in the future. I don't know why I didn't just go to Home Depot and avoided the stress and headache. You have been warned! read more
