I'm writing this review from my son's hospital room. He was diagnosed with leukemia a little over a week ago. We've been at hospitals in Downey, Hollywood and now Long Beach closer to home. My son was supposed to be coming home today to start his outpatient care. In preparation for his homecoming we need our home as clean as possible because chemo patients have low immune systems so we called in "SoCalled Cleaners" for help. Before they arrived they were super communicative, really tried to get that appointment scheduled and called me the day of to even try and come earlier. Their gentleman, Johnny, arrived on time (1pm) and was extremely polite. I immediately told him our situation with my son's health and he was very kind and said he would get the job done. We needed 2 bedroom carpets cleaned and streamed, our small sofa, and my son's mattress steamed. While he began working, I was scrambling around the house trying to get the rest of my home in order and do laundry while he worked in the rooms. Before he started in my children's room, I mentioned that I have some vintage art posters on the walls and to be careful with them because they were near the mattress that was propped on the same wall. I left him to work. Around 2pm he said he was done and I went to check. He put the wet mattress propped up against my art! I tried to stay calm bc that is nothing compared to my son's health. I asked him to go over the entrances to the rooms again because they didn't look clean. He gladly did so and apologized about my posters. I had to go pickup my daughter from school at 230 and so he was cleaning up his equipment and putting it all inside his truck and I went walking to school which was half a block away. When I came back from picking her up, he was still loading his truck. I thanked him and went inside. I asked my daughter to stay in the living room while the carpets dried but I went to inspect the rooms. My bedroom had soooooo much visible debris still left on the carpet. Hair, lint, fake lashes, random pieces of trash. Astonished, I sent the video immediately to my landlord who sourced them and to the company themselves. My landlord said they will call me to resolve but they never did. In a hurry, I had to go back to the hospital and left the carpet situation at home. My daughter and I arrived back home around 730 last night and my daughter went into the room and immediately complained about the floors being wet. I went in to check and sure enough they felt way too damp. I got a clean folded towel with my phone out recording and placed it on the carpet, stepped on it with medium pressure and turned it over. It was soaked with dark DIRTY water. I went into my son's room did the same and it was even worse. I immediately sent the videos to my landlord and the company. I told them that the carpets were way too wet and that they would breed mold which is the complete opposite of what my son needs to be around. The company said to open the windows and get ventilation in there but that was all. After I took more photos and videos to send, my landlord began to see why I was extremely concerned and SoCal Cleaners stopped responding. As a matter of fact, to rub salt into my wounded heart, they text me an invoice for $350. I was frantic, not knowing what to do and they were unresponsive. It's the next day now and they are sending my calls to voicemail. Because of this, I had to delay my son's return home and my landlord is looking for actual "cleaners". I will never ever ever ever ever use them again. Went through my drawers and threw out my prescription medication, plus other miscellaneous items. Promised reinbursement for medication and did not follow through. Google doesn't go lower than 1 star but the break of trust was the most disappointing, and I would give them a -1. First time cleaning a 3 bedroom 2.5 said they were sending a team and all that showed up was an old lady who was lagging extremely bad I sent her away. I gave them another chance and then they sent two workers that were so lazy and rude and used abrasive chemicals on my mirrors and shower door and left all my items on the counters and nightstands, saying that they don't touch peoples personal items because some people get upset. What a joke . They didn't even wipe down mirrors. They did nothing. Then the representative tells me that they only do light cleaning and if you want them to wipe down your counters and your barbecue, then you have to let them know in advance because it's not something they typically do. Overall NOT a good experience. The employees were very professional. There were some clear missed ares that were rushed through and I am not sure all items were cared for under "deep cleaning" services. I do think for deep cleaning-two people are not enough. There was a feeling of rushing towards the end due to other appointments. Not sure if I will use for regular maintenance cleaning- TBD as I price out other companies. The cleaner said that she did her best cleaning then had later shared how she doesn't clean her own home. They came without cleaning solution and asked me for some after they had ran out of the vinegar they were using to clean. They also asked if I had a broom, luckily there was one left behind during the move. I'm am glad that I was able to get the price down, I would have been even more displeased have I had paid the $720 they had quoted. Worst cleaning service!! Stay away!! I clearly communicated with Eric what I wanted done. I was very specific and he took down notes on what services I wanted done. A deep cleaning from top to bottom. Organize kitchen cabinets for example. Move oven, washer, dryer to clean behind appliances, light fixtures, windows, dust, mop, etc. I was also very specific on the time as my husband works on Saturday. Eric informed me a crew of 3-4 would arrived between 12-1pm and take about 4-5 hours. Well one person arrived at 10:30 and informed us it would just be him and it would take him about an hour. Well had to turn him away as my husband was working and also I am 35 weeks pregnant and wanted to make sure to eat and shower. We were not ready for the service at 10:30am. When I called the company they said they would return at my original appointment time with more cleaners. Great right? However, I received a text message that my appointment time would not work and they would send someone out at 5pm...set to arrive between 5-6pm. I was hesitant due to my pregnancy and need to rest. Come six o'clock they never showed. Called again and told me they were on their way and would arrive at 7:30pm. With a 4-5 hour job... I had to refuse due to my pregnancy. Not to mention we had to cancel our dinner plans with family and my husband took half a day. They then promised us the very first appointment the following Saturday (today). All women crew and the "bosses cleaning crew." Whatever that means. Again they showed early and we were not prepared for their earlier arrival. Not an all women's crew and not the "bosses crew." Either way they came back at 9am to begin their job. However, there was a big miscommunication on the services I requested and was quoted for. Long story short... they did such a horrible job. Half assed everything they "cleaned" and left floor dirtier than it was to begin with. They cleaned multiple areas with same dirty rags. Did not sweep or mop. I can go on and on. This was just a horrible job and such an inconvenience. I can write an essay on everything that went wrong and what we had to give up, rearrange, and all the additional work this has cost us. My husband is currently mopping and cleaning the mess they left behind. I feel bad not being able to help him. I am 35 weeks pregnant with severe carpal tunnel in both hands and tarsal tunnel in my right foot. This is why I scheduled a cleaning service. I have had such a challenging pregnancy and cleaning my apartment has not been a priority or a task I can physically take on. But with the arrival of our newborn we wanted to make sure our apartment was clean and sanitized. Our apartment feels so dirty because we saw them reuse dirty towels when cleaning new surfaces. All they did was spread dirt around. Not to mention the wet dog smell they left behind. I pointed out that they only cleaned half of the sink and the cleaning lady said she would clean the other half and then she pumped my own dish soap to clean the sink with my own dish sponge??? This was a horrible job. This should be illegal! Now that the "job has been done" I have not heard back from the company. I have called them several times. I contracted So Cal Cleaners to clean my carpets at the office, this was done 2 weeks in advance of the date I wanted the carpets cleaned. They first called and tried to re-schedule, I could not so they showed up 1 hour late to the job. The job was not good, carpets did not look much better and this was an easy job in my opinion. then the tech told me there machine broke down and they would have to come back and the Mgr. would call me the next day. I told them multiple times to go back over spots (eg shelf in closet hadn't been touched) and then those spots were still dirty after they left. Three woman showed up, only one spoke English and she sat in the car the whole time while the other two non-English speakers did all the work. Wood floor and tile had crumbs (dusty too as if dirty mop was used). Barefoot walking unpleasant. Office later confirmed without shame they do not vacuum, but only sweep. Why the crumbs then?
