However, when I first met Mr. Lee and started discussing the project, I just knew that he was the one to hire due to his confidence and expertise in his field. I felt a strong sense that he wasn't out to get me, but rather to honestly help me and rebuild the wall with budget in mind. I chose Lee's over two other previous bids, and I am very glad I did. On day one of the demolition phase, foreman Augustine and his awesome crew just blew my mind at how efficient, precise and hard working they were. Needless to say, I was extremely impressed and felt at ease, knowing that I was definitely in good hands. Within a week, I had a beautiful brand new retaining wall built better than ever. Equally impressive was Joyce at the office making sure I was never left hanging with questions or concerns. All my queries were handled in a timely manner. For anyone looking for concrete/brick contractor, I highly recommend Lee's Concrete.

This was my very first time hiring anybody to do any sort of landscaping work. I was ignorant going…read moreinto it so I had to lean heavily into the landscapers expertise on what would be best for what I wanted to achieve. After getting a few quotes, I chose Lee's Concrete because he impressed me the most with the ideas he presented, not being pushy or sales-y, while also staying competitive price wise. He is also officially licensed for concrete. The project started around May 2025, and completed towards the end of July 2025. It consisted of concrete pouring, artificial turf installation, irrigation routing and laying out gravel/river rocks in planting areas. Also, a 2D layout diagram was provided for me to submit to HOA for approval. Below is a list of critiques ranked starting with my biggest letdowns: #1) WEEDS. Not via the concrete, but the artificial turf that was laid out. Lee offered artificial turf installs during my contractor search. My main reason for getting artificial turf was to have little-to-no maintenance. But, mines constantly has weeds growing out of the edges due the gap in the ends not being sealed. My next door neighbor had artificial turf installed by another landscaper and never has any weeds growing out of the edges ever. They had theirs installed after mine. Maybe it was my fault for not communicating that need initially. But at the same time, I thought having artificial turf laid out and it preventing weed growth on the edges would be a given. #2) Blotchy concrete coloring on front yard. My backyard's concrete coloring was pretty consistent and I was very happy with how it turned out. But my front yard was very blotchy and inconsistent. I was told that this is normal and will take about a year to cure and to give it time. Another reason was for differing "pH levels" for the area where the concrete was laid. Well... a year has passed and it has kind of improved here and there, but not so much in other parts. So, I'm a little hesitant to believe it that is actually the reason. It doesn't make sense to me that all the concrete laid out in my entire neighborhood doesn't look as bad as how it looks on my driveway. Structurally, it's fine. But it is a bit of an eye-sore looking at it every time I'm in my front yard. #3) I felt like I spent more time than I needed to checking for imperfections. A main one was my vinyl fence and cinder block wall getting dirty from the concrete pours. Another big one was the cinder block retaining wall in my backyard not being symmetrical on the edges. I had to call it out a few times to even get it fixed. Once it was finally fixed, my vinyl fence had residue from the cinderblock wall fix. By that time, I had gotten fatigue from having to constantly call out imperfections and let that one go. #4) You don't really know when the landscapers will come out to do the work. If I remember correctly, they would come out most weekdays. But, you wouldn't know if they would show up the next day or not. Not too big of a deal honestly. I'm more picky about this because I like to keep the side gate to my backyard locked and not knowing when to unlock it in the morning was just a tiny annoyance. I ended up just unlocking it first thing in the morning and locking it in the evening every weekday. Overall, I'd rate the project a 3 or 3.5 out of 5 - which I think is a very fair assessment. I'm relatively happy how it looks at the end. But there were a few bumps along the way which is why I cannot give a 5 out of 5. It pains me to write the above critiques and not be able to give the highest rating because Lee and the rest of his team were all very nice people. But there definitely could've have been improvements for the entire project.

Unfortunately these guys are just awful, usually its just a quick "blow and go" but when they do decide to do something it just a joke. They hack up any flower they see and leave the weeds and fading plants be. Sometimes they just leave big piles of cuttings piled up in corners of the property. Today they hacked away almost every flower and half the shrubs in my front garden that I've paid for and maintaine out of my own pocket. The small backyard was just mud and we didn't even have our fence up yet. We weren't even sure what we wanted to do with our backyard because we couldn't even picture what our yard was going to look like with the fence up. Joel gave his input and it was as if he could already picture what it would look like as he went over what he recommended. He explained the different options that he recommended and the different types of materials and their quality levels. He showed us a couple of his other projects in the area and one of his satisfied customers came outside and told us about how happy she was with their work and that she recommended them. He gave us a very detailed itemized estimate and we set up an appointment for them to begin work a few weeks later. Throughout the whole process, Joel and his team were very professional and courteous. Although there was a lot of digging, and different equipment and materials involved, they kept the job site clean and did their best to minimize disruptions and noise while they were there. I was expecting our yard to look like a war zone while the work was being done but they always cleaned up after each day of work. It didn't take long for the project to be completed. I expected something really nice for our small space but Bear Republic exceeded our expectations. The yard came out absolutely beautiful. Everyday when I look outside I'm amazed with how they transformed our muddy backyard area to a very relaxing, picturesque outdoor space. Joel is a true artist and very meticulous in his work. He and his team were great to work with. I highly recommend Bear Republic Landscape for any landscaping project.

I would like to start this review off by explaining that I researched what i needed and reputable…read morecompanies extensively prior to starting my backyard project.  I also had 4 bids and input  from 4 companies to compare, and input from an arborist.  The arborist is the one that recommended California Custom Landscaping to me because he said they do the best he's ever seen, and has not seen any issues with the work in later years.  Henry from California Landscaping was, by far, the most knowledgeable and the most professional of the contractors I met with.  He had ideas and suggestions that demonstrated he had extensive experience, and helped me find solutions to some difficult issues that would ensure my project is both long lasting and affordable.  His pricing was not the highest bid, but was on the higher end, but after completion of the project, I understood why.  He has a good size crew, they were all very knowledgeable, they were very thorough and did a very professional job, and brought in a lot of specialized equipment (I mention the equipment because I have had other jobs and seen jobs that do not have that).  I my project included demolition of old concrete, electrical work, a concrete brick retaining wall, concrete pour wall, concrete pour, installation of my plants, and installation of a drip system. I genuinely had no concerns or complaints with the entire process, so I wanted to list off the things I noticed that I appreciated: - Every crew member was professional, polite, and many went the extra mile to make me happy.  They always offered to do little extra things to help me out, even though they weren't part of their duties.  - The foreman made sure to ask questions along the way to ensure I was happy with choices being made.  This was very important to me because I had a project in the past where decisions were made without checking with me, and work had to be redone.  - The workers cleaned up after themselves thoroughly after each day, and left materials and tools organized nicely.  They always swept, cleaned, or blowed the area, so there were no messes.  - The workers seem to be treated really well and their time was respected.  I appreciated that I saw them taking regular scheduled lunch breaks and leaving at the same time each day.  When Henry wanted to schedule work on the weekend, he emphasized that he needed to respect their weekends, ask permission, and give them plenty of notice. -Everything was very timely.  They came when they said they would, arrived on time, let me know what days they would not be working, and completed the project pretty quickly.   -Henry would regularly check in, make sure I was happy, and answer my questions.  He also communicates/responds to emails calls and texts in a timely manner. There were a few great things included in the project that i didn't even realize. - The work they did was beautiful! I couldn't be happier with how my back yard turned out.  I've had to clean up neighbors debris from their trees and hose it down, and it cleans up easily and drains well. I was in luck and found a great variety of indoor and outdoor plants, including a rare variation too (white princess philo)! The atmosphere was calm and clean, just what I want in a garden. Matt helped me pick out some plants to suit different people's needs (i.e. whether someone was just getting into gardening, what's easier to keep alive, etc). He was very knowledgeable and super helpful. So excited to give these out as gifts and will definitely be coming back to shop for myself! Would recommend.

I had always glanced over this location, and on this day happened to be in the market for some soil. The lot was thriving, not too crowded. People were looking about and soon a staff member took the time to show me some of their soil options and potting mixes. I settled on the organic palm and cactus mix. It was not dry upon opening, which I'm glad it was not, so far it's proving to be a fairly good quality. There's still some leftover in the yard. I saw many plants there. They had some pink aloe vera, along with a wide selection of succulents, which was nice to see. I had my eye set on something a little bit different though, an elephant bush. I knew they had some because some of the arrangements included elephant bush. So I just had to ask!Well, to my surprise they were more than happy to give me a longer tour of the southern part of the nursery, where they had far more sizes, big and small. I got to see some gigantic ones that I never expected to encounter in larger pots. Thank you Vic! It goes without saying I was impressed. Speaking about Vic, I just wanna say, many of the staff members were welcoming and went above and beyond to give me what I wanted. I was really impressed with Vic's extensive knowledge on house plants and his ability to help me find the size of this wonderful plant. Where I feel that most sales people would push you to buy a particular one item, Vic offered me choices, which I appreciate 100%. It's safe to say that type of salesmanship demands respect, and I will probably be coming back when I'm ready. Outside of my own personal experience, I noticed they have a variety of pots and fertilizers for all your growing needs. Always nice to see an assortment of pots and accessories for the home garden folk. This is our first major contracted work on our new home, and we wanted everything to be as perfect and smooth as possible. We know a few neighbors that went though horror story level issues with their landscaping contractors, and we wanted zero drama. The ratio of pavers and turf highly affects the cost but what hooked us to System Pavers was the complete transparency of the work required for the job, the quality of their sourced materials, and the professionalism of their contracted project manager and construction team!
