I rented here for a couple of months and was very impressed with how beautifully it is maintained, and with the fact that there is an on-site manager, who is very efficient and quick to respond to whatever I was in need of, information or otherwise. Being able to have someone show me the space before I rented it was also a plus. Living in a world full of robots everywhere these days, it is such a pleasure to have a human being to deal with. The manager answers the phone(Eileen is fabulous!) and takes care of you in person no horrific remote call center! I personally like being able to drive up to my space, that is a plus for me as well, but they do have both inside and outside spaces. And the inside ones are very well lit and very safe. Just finished emptying my unit today. I've been storing at this facility since 2013, 12 years, and it's been a good experience overall. It is in a safe industrial area and conveniently located for me. The facility is gated and my experience is that it is secure and also clean, albeit maybe a little dusty. I've downsized and had units with outside and inside access. Outside is more convenient, but dust from outside did get to my belongings. I would suggest protecting anything you don't want to have a layer of dust on, or in like electronics or soft fabric furnishings. Inside was a little tight in the hallway when handling dining stairs, a small chest, a 3 way folding room divider, and I had to dismantle a futon frame. Not negative, necessarily, but good to know before choosing a unit that works well for you. Pricing, however, was very high. I left for a unit of like size at another facility that is 44% less expensive, both indoor access and within 5 miles of my home. Forgot to mention, Office staff for both are professional and personable... very nice. I recommend if the higher price is worth it to you. read more

We needed some short term storage, and shopped around in Camarillo at the different options. SoCal Self Storage wasn't the cheapest option, but they had the best service, cleanliness and facilities of the different storage facilities in Camarillo. If I'm going to store my stuff, I want to feel confident that it will be safe, and that I will be safe while I'm there. Such nice people! Taking appropriate Covid measures, so that's cool too. I don't have an RV, but they allow people to dump their RV's black water there too. They have multiple locations throughout Southern California, but if you need storage in Camarillo, I highly recommend! read more

Wow! eileen is really knowledgeable on contractual stuff. Great advice! I was able to use the truck to load up the unit. The three trolleys were indispensable. This truck service alone was better than what I had recently rented from a renowned truck rental company. Randall and Eileen are fabulous. They are both very helpful, accommodating, and flexible. I had to move into a bigger unit and in the end, needed to rent one more unit to fit all my belongings. The facility is spotless! The facility is gated and you're given a code for access. You have to not only use the code to get in, but out also. All of the units are individually alarmed and I feel safe having my belongings stored here. They also allow you access to a large moving truck on move-in day. **I got an EXCELLENT recommendation for movers. Yuri and Felipe (805.832.3978) helped me move and they have a great professional relationship with the facility. It's not hard to see why! Two of nicest, friendliest, and hardest workers I've ever seen at an unbelievably affordable hourly rate!!! (They cost me HALF of the best price I found calling around) I bought them lunch and tipped the well at the end. I could not have done it without them! You can't afford NOT to hire these guys! They were quick and methodical in packing to utilize every inch of the storage unit. I'll be hiring them again to movement out of storage. They were careful to take care of my items, wrapping things with blankets and the shrink wrap I'd purchases off of Amazon. 2 - 1000' rolls of shrink wrap did it all!! When I needed to downsize last summer, I found So Cal Self Storage right in the middle of town, totally competitively priced and they even had a big truck I could borrow for the move-in. Quite a different experience from when I rented a storage unit in Oxnard back in the late 1990's. It had cost almost the same, even back then - plus, I couldn't pay by credit card over the phone (I was on the road and had to mail my checks in.) The place was creaky and scary, sort of a fire trap, with no visible security. It was really depressing! This place is totally different than that - a "pro" operation. You can tell that they take storage seriously. The site is immaculate and well-protected. They do auto-pay, which I appreciate, but when I have to do something at my unit, I feel welcome to drop by the office. There is usually hot fresh coffee available, and cold bottled water. The manager, Eileen, and the staff are efficient and cheerful. The office is kind of luxe - but there are also quirky little figurines and brochures on local activities. I feel like I didn't just rent a unit - I found a little nugget of community. I have referred several friends here in the past year. read more
