We rented a storage facility from them for 4 months. We paid monthly by check and when we were finished with the unit we closed our account. Four months after we terminated our business agreement ACH debits began to appear on our checking account. We NEVER authorized ACH debits - we paid by check monthly. Someone in their company took our bank information off of our checks and began taking debits from our account long after we terminated our contract with them. We reported the unauthorized charges to the local business office in August. They said that they would escalate it to their corporate offices for resolution. We have continually checked back with the local office and I know they are trying, but their corporate offices have continued to make these fraudulent and unauthorized debits from my back account - two as recent as 10 days ago. We had to close our banking account and re-register all of our authorized automatic transactions. This company is terrible and potential customers need to know what they are getting into if they choose to do business with this corrupt operation! read more

I was assisting an associate today and made the error of misplacing critical documents that needed to be reviewed and processed. I asked the assistant property manager Jonathan for help and he gladly obliged. Instead of driving to the nearest copy center to print a new set of documents, Jonathan allowed me to use his computer instead. This saved me valuable time, not to mention credibility! I rarely leave reviews but I felt compelled to do so regarding this business. When I initially came in a few months ago and had a ton of questions since I had never rented a storage unit before I dealt with Justin and he was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. I went in today to downsize the unit that I previously rented due to selling some of the items and not needing as much space. Today I dealt with Jonathan. He was also just as helpful and courteous. Even more so he helped me move my heavy furniture from the larger unit to the small unit as the person that was supposed to help me didn't show up. I am very happy with how professional yet caring they are and I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for storage space. read more

The best storage in Camarillo, Justin and the staff went above and beyond to get my business. They were always professional and you could even text them when you had to set up a payment. The facility is surgical room clean and I stored thousands of dollars of my stuff there and never felt that like something would happen or that it would be broken into. My elderly father found this storage facility and rented a unit, but being elderly he didn't remember most of the details (address, unit number, floor etc. The day before we were to move my parent's overflow of treasures in, my wife and I went to the facility to get the details we would need. We were greeted by Twila and she patiently repeated everything she probably told my dad. She also provided us tips on how to pack & stack so their stuff could be somewhat organized. And as an added bonus we found that Store Safe offers a complimentary box truck for local move ins! So we canceled the UHaul reservation we had ($90) which made my dad's day. We picked up the truck the following morning, loaded it and realized that the storage unit my dad rented was waaay to small. Fortunately, Twila cheerfully understood our predicament & again, fortunately had a larger unit. We loaded it up and that's that. The moving process isn't a super fun activity. But thanks to Twila the whole administrative process went super smooth and efficient! read more

I've been using this establishment for 3 years to store my merchandise I sell online. This unit is all climate controlled, which I need. It's always been so clean and felt safe. Great service today from Twila at Store Safe. This is our second time to store things here, so we came back

I rented a very small 5 x 10 storage unit and was paying $105 a month for it (already pretty pricey for that amount of space but somewhat reasonable given the location) until they recently decided to up the rent to $140 for that tiny amount of space. I told them I was getting out and cancelling my unit. Then they proceeded to over charge my account by $141.00 so I paid $246.00 last month for a 5 x 10 unit. When I called to find out what happened, no one had a clue and told me they would have to call corporate and find out and then corporate would have to cut me a check because they don't keep any money on site. They told me they would handle it asap and call me with the details. Three days later I called back to find out what the status was and spoke to Jerry the manager. He informed me that there was an error with the recent price change and I was charged my old price as well as the new price of the unit (double charged). He had no idea how it happened and told me that he had to send an email to corporate to get a check cut for me but he was "really swamped today". I explained that I had called three days prior and expected someone to reach out to corporate that day or the next and have an answer for me as to when I would get my money back. He told me he had no answer for me, and I am not even sure if he actually emailed corporate or not yet, and not to mention I still have no idea when I am going to get my money back. I asked for a number to call corporate myself and he told me I had to get ahold of Ventura Investment Co. and would not provide me with a phone number. This place is absolutely ridiculous. The prices are insane, the people are completely incompetent and the customer service is horrible. Save your money and the headache and take your business and your stuff somewhere else. read more

We rent from U-Haul and from this location many times a year and never had a problem. This is the first time we've ever had an issue and both Danielle and Brad went to bat for us. U-Haul accidentally overcharged us and they got the charges reversed with smiles on their faces. We want to say thank you to U-Haul for being such a great company and hiring wonderful employees. Also for taking care of our grievance in a timely manner. The issue was resolved and we will continue to rent at this location and from U-Haul for years to come! I had to store some items temporarily, but didn't know what size unit would be required. I rented one unit and then later found that I would have to get additional space. Jerry was very accommodating, and helped me get another unit. They also sold boxes and had carts for moving items from the car to the unit, which was very helpful. The facility is large, clean, safe, and located just off the 101 in Camarillo. I rented 2 inside units for a short term, so it was convenient and my items stayed dry. read more

If I could give this NO STARS for GRACE....I would. I just had to deal with Grace who is the emergency contact "dispatcher" for this facility due to a "tamper lock out" on the building. I hired a document shredding company to come here and destroy documents today and she informed me that "that was not her problem that I hired someone to come here." She stated that their is a maintenance person that should be on site, but that he probably doesn't know what to do to fix it because they are NOT familiar with the property. I said "Wait... What?? You are the emergency contact yet you are not familiar with the property here? Am I understanding that correctly?" She replied in her very snarky tone with a major attitude "YES... You heard me right." I then asked how she was affiliated with Store Safe and Ventura Investments Company who a manages the property and she said "I'm the dispatcher". I then saw the maintenance guy in the parking lot told her thank you for her time and hung up with her. I approached the maintenance guy and explained my situation to him. His name was Tyler and he was very sweet. He at that very moment received a call from dispatch and asked me to give him a minute while he took the call. When he returned, he said he could attempt to help me but wasn't sure he could be successful. So he tried and wasn't successful. He informed me that the manager should be here shortly and she would be able to assist me. The manager Kelsey arrived and was extremely and immediately helpful and resolved my issue within a few minutes... I informed Kelsey of the phone conversation that I had with Grace and let her know that's probably not someone they want talking to and treating their customers like that. Grace NEEDS LESSONS ON CUSTOMER SERVICE... No doubt about that at all. read more

We just moved out of our house and needed "a lot" of storage space, but we weren't sure how much. Jerry and Steve have been incredibly helpful in answering our many questions, and making sure that we were NOT stressed about the move into the storage units; they've really been extremely patient with me and have provided me a ton of information allowing me to make the most informed decisions. Not only are they extremely professional, but they are so friendly -- not just in the beginning either but through and through! They really care about "the people" that their business serves and I think the two of them could easily write a book on what "customer service" means. I also believe that Jerry & Steve have put a ton of effort into re-configuring how to do business during this pandemic. I was very nervous about moving during these trying times, but the communication/paperwork side is EXTREMELY efficient with Store Safe - I practice social distancing and they are more than capable in getting the job done while keeping me comfortable, and this is something that I sincerely appreciate! They treat and care for me like I was their best friend -- it's been a LONG time since ANY company has made me feel this way. And to top it off - their units are not only WELL-SECURED, but also EXTREMELY CLEAN...not sure if the buildings are brand new, but we are LOVING it!!!! Thanks Jerry & Steve!! read more

I looked around at many storage facilities in Camarillo and this was by far the best. They have the best prices and they are the cleanest. They are temperature controlled and all have a roll up door compared to other places who have a small standard door. We were also able to use a moving truck for free!
