Today, I attended my granddaughter's birthday party at an indoor Soccer Facility called Soccer World. It's a large soccer facility with bleachers for fans and family for soccer games and events. There's a snack bar, which was closed for the party, and an eating area, that was quite tight for a party of 60 when we're eating at the same time, but fortunately, we were able to spread out and use the bleachers when we ran out of table space. This is a great venue for soccer fans and soccer players, especially on very hot days like today, when you can still enjoy where it's cool indoors. All the kids had a great time. Finding the place was quite challenging on map apps, because it got you to the location, but if you didn't know to turn in, and drive clear to the back, past rows of warehouse buildings to the very end, and turn right, you will have trouble finding it. read more

First time here! Attended a late afternoon soccer game for my nephew. Located in Elk Grove near a trailer park, it's a big warehouse with a snack bar and an indoor soccer field. FREE parking is a plus. Place was packed! The small bleachers seemed to fit a lot of parents and other kids waiting for their turn to play. Food avail at the snack bar were regular snack foods, mostly catered to the Latin community (tacos/churros/mexican coke and candies from Mexico) What I ordered: Churros (2 for $2) Small slushie ($2) Cheese fries ($8) Mexican Coke The employees were super friendly and helpful! Fast service. Clean tables. Bathrooms may need better cleaning but wasn't too bad. Not enough space for parents in the snack bar area, mostly people were standing around and in the way.. They have a history of removing teams AFTER they have paid with no explanation. They offered no path towards reconciliation or no path towards a refund. Our team had finished in second place and qualified for playoffs before management informed that we would be removed from the league with no valid reasoning other than that it was "ownership's decision". This place is a mess. The manager is incredibly rude and unprofessional. On two separate occasions, our team showed up for games only to find out the other teams had canceled, and the manager never bothered to notify us. Complete waste of time and energy. The facility is poorly managed, and the lack of communication is unacceptable. Would not recommend to anyone, they waited until the league playoffs came around to kick us out for "having a significant higher level of play" after we had paid over $500 for the league. We were not offered a refund at all, even after finishing second place with two defeats that contradicts their statements. Keep in mind this league is 5+ weeks long. This new management is horrible compared to the last management keep in mind I have been here the last 3 years. read more

I like the concept of this place. HIDDEN in Elk Grove right by the Elk Grove Soccer offices. I went there because it was my nephew's birthday and my brother-in-law rented out the practice field they have there. It was pouring rain, so the fact that we were able to play soccer on such a stormy night was awesome. We were in our own little area and didn't have to deal with anyone who wasn't a part of our party. I do have a couple complaints leading into my 3 star review. The first one being, where was the staff? When our time was over, there was a new family that instantly came in to take over the field. We weren't given a heads up that our time was almost over and there was no mediation so we didn't brush shoulders with this new family. It didn't cause any issues with our Christian family but I expect problems could arise if two of the wrong families clash. Another thing I had issue with was the quality of the building. I don't have a problem with the warehouse decor, since this is not what this facility is about. But having holes in the wall and shaky seating could be dangerous for littler kids. My last complaint was this was not an easy place to find. Google maps lead me down a road that included a no trespassing sign and the other way to get here was a block behind some other businesses. When it was pouring rain this was even more difficult to navigate. The last thing I want to add is that I don't know how much it was to rent the field, but it was worth whatever the price the get a secluded soccer field on such a rainy day. read more

This is an email sent by our coach to the team 1 week before the finals game It summarizes my review of Soccer World and why I think 1 star is more than what they deserve. "When I suggested we play indoor soccer, my original intent was to get our boys some extra touches in a fun environment. As many are aware, the last two weeks at Soccer World have been quite the opposite. Although the play has been quite physical, my main concern is the safety of our players and parents. Unfortunately, I do not have the confidence in Soccer World management or Referee to provide a safe environment. When coaches from the other team are cussing out the referee and still allowed to come back, parents are being kicked out by the ref and still being allowed to stay in the stands, parents from the other team are cussing and calling out horrific names at the ref without recourse, then coaches and parents are physically attacking the ref and lastly parents are going after our parents in the stands ... this is absolutely unacceptable behavior. Soccer world has consistently shown that they are not able to control the crowd therefore putting us in an unsafe or possible violent situation. This is not what we signed up for. I have spoke with the boys and they all understood that continuing was not in our best interest or safety. Instead of taking any more chances, I have pulled the boys out of the final game." read more

My kids have been attending Soccer World's indoor workshops for several years now. I enjoy watching them on the bleachers while the TVs overhead are broadcasting sports. Each year the trainers curriculum seems to get better and better along with their organization. During the winter months, there's not much choices for soccer since the grass are mushy from the rain and it's too cold. The cost was reasonable but there's room for improvement: (1) Update the facility, it's a big warehouse with an oval soccer ring in the middle. As Soccer crazy as Elk Grove is, the place just feels cheap. I would have expected more... Add A/C for the summer months and heating for the winter months. Update the see thru plastic so I can clearly see the players. Update the speaker system so that music doesn't sound like AM radio. (2) Communicate training sessions ahead of time vs. one month prior. (3) Have a process for signing up kids and place them into teams for the indoor leagues. Currently you have to sign up as a whole team. (4) Sell quality food or just have vending machines to reduce disappointment for the hungry. read more

Their fries are on point! You don't go to a soccer arena to buy french fries? Apparently I do. I dabble in a little soccer, but haven't every played here, just have been a spectator. It's pretty on-par with all the other indoor soccer arenas in town. They host a local semi-pro soccer team for their home games. Come prepared with $5 for adults or $2 for kids, but they DO take credit so that's exciting. As for the temperature, its hot when it hot outside and its cold when its cold outside. They have some of the swamp fans to help, but it just kinda moves the air around. But again, this is on par with all the other arenas in town. They do seem to have a fully functioning snack bar, which is better than most arenas in the area. They have the normal Gatorade, chips, and soda, but they also have fryer and a grill too. However, they also sell $2 bottles of water. I guess they know when you don't have a choice, in the sweat box, you'll pay whatever to hydrate. This snack bar also takes credit and/or cash, so eat your heart out before, during, or after a game! French fries and futbol, an oddly wonderful pairing! read more

I managed to get the chance to bring my U8 and U14 girls from recreation soccer to indoor soccer to have the chance to keep the girls practicing on the off season. I had an amazing season with both teams. My U14 will be continuing thru another 8 games here as we had a great experience before outdoor starts. My U8 team girls will be back next year. This is kind of a hidden gem that has a ton of potential, and I am glad to have found this resource . A season gives the team 8 games. There is a reasonably priced snack bar. This place is a joke, kept a little girl whose birthday was last week from playing in the last game of her league, saying she was too old. The rules on the team application clearly state they use the last falls Elk Grove Youth Soccer age matrix, easily available on their website under rules and forms, this allows the children to continue to play indoor with the same girls they played with in the fall. It's a common practice in youth soccer. When her parents money was taken and birthdate was given prior to the first game, they didn't say she'd be banned for the last game. If they were unable to figure out their own rules, they should have let her play while they figured it out as they can't correct their mistake now. read more

Not only is this the worst indoor facility in Sacramento, it is the worst indoor facility I have ever played at. 1. The facility itself: the field is tiny. However, they still place full number of players. This fact combined with the worst quality turf I have ever seen contributes to extremely frequent injuries. 2. The staff: the staff is rude and unprofessional. They fail to follow their own procedures-- making up fees, dates, you name it. The staff is a total joke- hard to even describe. 3. The referees: absolute bottom of the barrel. Simply terrible. Further, they are friends with many of the frequent players and the staff who play. Extremely unfair. I feel bad giving such a bad review to a local establishment because I root for them to succeed. However, I feel confident the market will speak and this place won't be around long because it is simply one of the worst customer experience I have ever had. Extremely unprofessional and discriminatory. My daughter plays on the U12 boys soccer team. Yesterday being our first game of the season when it was time to register players in attendance the manager said to my face " she's a girl - she can't play here'. I assumed the facility was for boys only however learned that Soccer World has made up their own rule - mind you not posted on the website nor inside of their facility - that they will not "let" a girl play with the boys. I state "let" because that's what was told to our faces. Our team stuck together and withdrew the team registration and walked out and unfortunately left the other team without a team to play. Please note that the management at soccer world was notified three months in advance that there was a girl player on this boys team, she was on the roster with a completed waiver on file. We have an email on file from Soccer World stating that there was not a problem with a girl on the boys team however on game day to change up and not allow one player to play because of gender and based on their personal preference certainly should not be allowed. Niko is 5 stars, his training is amazing. He is a great person and keeps his business business without taking things personal. The partial owner Leah on the other hand, she makes rules and breaks rules as she feels needed. Games aren't scheduled till the week of. You can NEVER get a full season of games scheduled in advance ever. If there was new management that didn't take things super personal, this facility would be WAY BETTER. I was playing as a 29 yr old on a 30 and up (such a shame, I know), well the partial owner Leah found out and STILL ALLOWED ME TO PLAY FOR ANOTHER WHOLE SEASON (because she honestly needed our team to play). The following season, she says I'm not allowed to play because of my age lol. She has had SEVERAL under age players on her team in the past but then again, she can do that I guess. I want to play somewhere where the owner knows how to run business. Niko is amazing, I can not say that enough. The facility is nice, nice little snack bar, turf is cool. If you decide to play in a league, try and be on Leah's team lmao. Most people only go to this facility because of the convenience of the location. Nice little place...BUT field is very small. I don't understand why they made it so tiny. You cant really run much as by the time you get going you are on the other side. Better for kids to play. Are used to play soccer here three days a week. I also used to do the fitness classes. Since the new owner took over and it is gone downhill. I'm waiting for the end of the season I will not continue playing soccer at this location anymore. It's gotten very out of hand with the level of play and the overall enjoyment of playing soccer. This place started off very rough. In the past few years that we have played here, both adults and kids, many things have required extra attention. While it is finally getting slowly better, there is still plenty of room for improvement. Pros: - Enough parking space, - Finally built indoor bathrooms, - Enough seating for the spectators, - Clean glass around the field, - Good lighting, - Many wall mounted fans around the field for the players and spectators. - Overall clean facility - Affordable price Cons: - The website does not get updated timely and it is not user friendly. - The time slots get changed without notice or at the very last minute leading to angry players and parents. - Extremely small receptionist area. At the beginning of the season it is very chaotic and takes a long time to register or to confirm your registration. - The front staff seem to need a lot of education about what is going on. They play the "I don't know. I am just here today" card very frequently. - The refs are very inconsistent with their calls and create unpleasant playing environment. Many just stand in the middle of the field against the half wall. - Concerns and complaints to the management team/owners are not acknowledged or resolved in a way that would make you feel they care about the issue. - Overall communication (website, staff) is not sufficient. Neutral: - The turf is OK. - Entrance and exits from the parking lot are good - The field is large enough for kids and young adults. (not really meant for older players) With a few little improvement, this place could probably have better reviews. But that is only in the hands of the owners. read more

I have to update my last review. Since then they have blown out the old bathrooms and expanded the field. I don't know if it's now the biggest indoor field in the area, but would uess that it is. Also they now have beautiful new bathrooms and a great looking kitchen (although it's not open yet, soon I was told). everything else in my orrigional review is the same and I left it below so you can read if you want. It is not perfect but compared to the Off the Wall, and Azteca, its way better. The turf is great and much more realistic that the other facilities. The field is smaller but not bothersome. I play soccer here every Saturday night for the past 4 years. During that period, they cancelled our games roughly 9 times due to short on staff... 5 of those within the past 5 months. I am not asking for a welcoming staff that greet you upon entering (which they don't unless they know you) I am simply asking to hire more people so i don't get calls saying our games are cancelled due to short of staff. Other than that, the interior is nice. They update their facility every once ina while. The food section is pretty cool for family and children events. Three and a half stars. read more

This is a fun place to play, no doubt about that. The people at the desk are friendly, and games usually start on time. However, they're overall management and scheduling is horrible. Last winter our boys U10 team signed up to play for the winter session, which we were promised would be over at the end of February, perfect timing for our team, most of which had baseball games starting in early March. Instead though, Soccer World, not wanting to turn away any teams' money, allowed too many teams to sign up for the Saturday leagues. They could not fit in all the games in the amount of time they were supposed to. Our first 2 Saturdays of the league, we had no games scheduled. We were very concerned and called the manger. We were assured these were just byes, and that we wouldn't have any more, and that our league would still finish at the end of February as promised. It didn't. We had a few more bye weeks. In fact, what was supposed to be a 2 month session, ended up taking 3 months. Our 8 games were spread out over 13 weeks. But we didn't know that in advance because they would only release a couple of weeks of the schedule at a time. Half of our team was unable to play in the season for the last month because of their baseball commitments. We called and emailed the manager with our issue, but received no response. We didn't receive any credit or money back for all of the players who couldn't play in the last month of games due to Soccer World's failure to honor their contract, which said the season would be over at the end of February. They make you sign a waiver saying they are not responsible for any injuries but let people purposely injure the other team and fist fight and don't do anything about it. The field is about a third smaller than Off the Wall (another indoor soccer facility). The website doesn't get updated often enough and the staff doesn't always know when leagues are starting. They are, however, less expensive than Off the Wall and closer to Elk Grove. These are all things expected of a new business. Not sure why this place is getting crushed by old reviews...? Upgrades have been and continue to be made to Soccer World. A new indoor bathroom, an added concession stand and the field has been enlarged in the last couple of years. All nice upgrades! I enjoy playing and coaching at this facility. Yeah it takes a bit to get registered on the IPADS (ONCE), but its nice to be able to just scan a finger for check in once registration is complete. The clear spectator wall is 6+ feet tall allowing for more continual play than other lesser facilities. All facilities have their faults. Whether it be a smaller field, exorbitant league fees, bad turf or general mismanagement. Soccer World is by far the best Indoor soccer facility in the Sacramento area. read more

When I showed up to register my daughter the staff asked me to wait, then preceded to register several people after me. When I spoke up they then processed my payment but failed to take my daughters picture for the player card. They then went on to help others coming in taking each child's picture. I've been playing for 5 years and the management is ass. On me the managers really play favorites. They really need to make a change in that aspect. Bathrooms always dummy dirty. They need to do there job to manage instead of playing on the field. Which doesn't even matter considering they are both booty cheeks at soccer. I had Horrible experience here, I had my son's 9th Birthday Party with his friends and family. Host was 15 min late to open I had 20 angry soccer players waiting outside with no contact information available.The host after being late slow at getting everything started still ran my time and overcharged me. When I went to get my refund the owner proceeds to get angry at me for asking for my refund after being overcharged. As a coach, I looked forward to having both of my teams play here locally in Elk Grove. We played our previous season with Off The Wall and I've watched friends' games at Soccer Planet so I have a few fields to compare with. Registration was simple. The problem is that the venue has way too many teams playing during the current league. Rather than limiting the number of teams playing, it appears management has chosen to accept every team. I'm all about inclusiveness to a point....BUT games are booked so tightly that often teams don't get to play the full amount of time (15 min or 20 min halves) - often there is 2-3 minutes lopped off the first half. The other problem is that the season has been extended out 3 weeks now. This makes it difficult to try other facilities and has resulted in several BYE weeks. One of my teams had two BYE weeks in a row! The final straw for me was this week when one team's game was Postponed until the following week without any email or phone call to let me know of the status change. If I hadn't checked the website one last time, I would have come in this Saturday with a bunch of unhappy parents - a complete waste of time. In terms of referees, I have been taught to not argue/second-guess calls and it is truly subjective as referees call it the best they can. That being said, I do miss the diagonal reffing system used by Off The Wall and I will comment that there have been a few games where refs have literally not moved more than 2-3 feet during the game which limits their visibility as to what all is going on the field. Parking is great and I have no issues with the field. With a more pro-active staff which would communicate changes in scheduling to managers/coaches, SW could make it easier for teams. In addition, they should see how many teams they can realistically serve during one season before seemingly accepting any and all teams. I think many of us would rather have played 7 games and taken a credit for the next season rather than extending into other sports' seasons. read more

The staff is extremely unorganized and the owner is just flat out rude. Once you pay your fees she could care less about your team. Over the course of a month I have called and left messages as well as sent emails. I even walked in 3 times and left hand written notes. She has not responded to a single one of my attempts to contact her. They also advertise that your registration fees are for a total of 8 games however we only got 6. They have a completely unprofessional staff. After our first game a player tried to fight a girl on my team. Nothing happened to the kid, no card, no suspension nothing. I was assured by the manager the games would be called "tighter", so this would not happen again. The contact and hard fouls only got worse as the session went on. After talking with several staff members about it I sent an email to the manager asking for a different ref. After 6 days I get a response form the manager at 1:13 am. She said we cannot have a different ref. She sees know reason to do that. Even after several complaints were filed against the ref. She did offer to refund us the rest of the session if we wanted to quit. I replied to her and said it was going to be up to my parents. About an hour or so later I get an email telling me our season is over. They cancelled all our games. They didn't give me a reason as to why we were removed from the league. I have asked what policies/rules my team violated and never got a response. My parents didn't even get a chance to vote if they wanted to end our season or not. Soccer World gave us the option to leave, then they kicked us out. This place is horribly mismanaged. Save your money and your kid from serious injury. Don't play here read more

I love playing there. It is so nice not to have to drive so far to a facility. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. I have not had one problem with the refs and I play there often.
