Mmmm brunch :) I rate this place 4.5! Food was phenomenal, great value, and very sociable indeed. Food (5/5): I got the Roast Pumpkin and Almond Peston on Flatbread. It was unique, and all the tastes of the different ingredients meshed together reallllly well. Portions were more than enough! it was very filling, and it didn't feel like a "gross" full or the "why did I decide to chug all that down" full... it actually felt like a "healthy" full because it was mainly the pumpkin that made me full :) I loved the carmelized onions and the pesto that went with the pumpkin- very fitting. I also got to take a bite out of the Social Brekkie Roll. Really good! Definitely better than an average roll. The bun was very soft and fresh. Drinks (4/5): I tried the chocolate hazelnut and salted caramel smoothies. Didn't get to try the coffee because I wasn't in a coffee mood.... Nevertheless, the smoothies were pretty good! I liked the portion ( it was served in a cute mason jar). It was just enough to satisfy my smoothie craving and not go over the point of "I'm done with this smoothie because I'm sooo bloated". Once seated, we decided to share a pitcher of sangria, mostly due to the nearby table having the same. We had a hard time deciding what to order because so much on the menu looked very good. We ended up going with the eggs benedict and steak sandwich. This was my first time experiencing a charcoal hollandaise and charcoal brioche. This is one of my absolute favorite places to eat, anywhere. Definitely a favorite of many Australians as well as tourists. It's one of my first stops after landing. Everything here is good, the food, coffee, and their chai tea latte is one favorite. I typically order the salmon avocado with salad on flatbread, $16. I think about it even when I'm home in LA. Tons of salmon & avocado that's enough to share though I always clean my plate like I've never eaten before. Considering I don't really care for salads, it's saying a lot. I've tried their eggs Benedict, pancakes, all great. Came here on a Sunday morning and sat right down. Menu is local fare and they serve lunch all day. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the entire meal. Had the Ricotta hot cakes and they were fantastic. My significant other had the Brew Deli plate and said it was great as well. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. read more

Highly recommend this super cute cafe that was right down the road from our AirbnB! We came back here multiple times during our 6 day vacation in Sydney (which attests to how much we loved it considering how many fantastic cafes are in this city). I live across the road from the Social Brew and it took us a while to come here after it opened, but after we tried it once, we were hooked! The Social Brew is a small cafe, but has ample seating inside and out. The owner is really friendly and remembers us every time we come, which is always nice. I have had so many things on the menu so I will try and remember what i've had and review them: - Ricotta Pancakes: These were really delicious! Moist and sweet and really great. - Social Burger: My partner get's the social burger all the time and it is eggs and bacon on a brioche bun. He says it tastes delicious and it is only $8. - Slow Cooked Lamb Burger: I ordered the Slow Cooked Lamb burger on gluten free bread and it was absolutely divine! The lamb was tender and falling apart, and really tasty. They gave me three half triangles for my burger which was good because gluten free bread is quite small. It came with a side salad. This is probably one of my favourite meals. - Breakfast Board: This looks stunning! My partner ordered this and it has a boiled egg, cold meats, olives, and avocado and more. - Free Range Fried Chicken: My partner ordered this and it was hot, crisp and very crunchy. I have also ordered a peanut butter shake and it is absolutely delicious! You have to try it! It is so good! My partner always get's a juice which are always fresh and tasty. Overall, the Social Brew is an amazing cafe with excellent prices. The staff are down to earth and friendly, and this place is always busy because the food speaks for itself. Warm friendly vibe, staff were very welcoming. There's heaps of seating outside and today we lapped up the beautiful spring sunshine. There's heaters outside if it was a cold day. It is pet friendly and also a small nearby park where people had blankets to sit with their food. Also accessible for those with a wheelchair or pram. The menu has all day breakfasts like muesli, brekkie rolls, eggs benedict (with an apple cider flavour), caramelised brioche, beans, double smoked ham sandwich or what we got was the brekkie board; grilled olive bread that was really flavoursome, sliced prosciutto, avocado, herb pesto, roma tomato and a soft boiled zaatar egg that was perfectly cooked. We added on a hash brown and haloumi. Great platter and filled our bellies. The lunch options have a range of salads and the roasted pumpkin in flat bread with caramelised onion sounds amazing. I personally chose the pulled pork salad with rocket, shaved fennel, red radish, Quinoa and apple which complemented the salad really well. It tasted like a healthy pulled pork burger minus the bread They also serve beef or chicken burgers, slow cooked lamb, ricotta hot cakes etc. They do have vegetarian options as well. The coffee is really nice and they use all press beans. The tea is rabbit hole organic and my English breakfast tea came out in a cute little teapot. The shakes sounded amazing - salted caramel or choc hazelnut. Amazing. Smoothies and freshly squeezed juices too. This is a great stop to recharge and eat some great small bites before beginning your exploration again. My husband and I stopped to grab some coffee and truffle fries. Both were scrumptious.
