We were seated quickly, and our server started off strong--she was friendly, attentive while taking our order, and offered great suggestions. She offered to bring out a couple dipping sauces for our fries, and I asked for the bourbon jelly, which she was willing to do. That initial interaction set a great tone. The food itself was very good--both burgers were delicious. Unfortunately, after we placed our order, the service dropped off completely. We waited about an hour for our food, with no check-ins, no water refills, and no acknowledgment of the delay, even though our server walked past our table multiple times. At one point, I had to get up and find someone to talk to. I asked a man near the front for a manager, explained we had been waiting an hour, and pointed out our table. No one ever came over afterward to follow up. We were later told there was a large party, which is understandable--but that's not something customers or servers can control. A simple check-in or acknowledgment would have made a big difference. Instead, we were told we "should have said something," despite no one coming to the table. At the end, we waited again for the check, and when my daughter calmly tried to explain our frustration, the server spoke over her and said, "I'm almost 50--I've been doing this since I was 17," which came across as rude and unprofessional. We stopped at Upstate Bar and Grill on our way to the Baseball Hall of Fame Museum in Cooperstown and had an excellent lunch. Our group ordered ribs, a chicken Cobb salad, a French dip roast beef sandwich, and four specialty hamburgers. Everything was delicious, and the food quality was outstanding. What really impressed us was our waiter. He carefully listened to everyone's dietary needs, knew the menu well, and explained what each person could eat. He also followed up to make sure all of our orders were prepared correctly. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. The manager and several staff members stopped by our table to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our meal, which made us feel genuinely appreciated. Everyone in our family thoroughly enjoyed their food. The biggest compliment we can give is that we would definitely return the next time we're in Cooperstown. In fact, if we make it back, I'm planning to order one of the steaks--they looked absolutely delicious. As someone from the city, I was also pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the prices were. Our first night after check in at Dreamspark landed us here. I figured with the week just starting, it shouldn't be crazy. As we pulled in and there was ample parking, I know I was correct. Service was friendly and fast and everything was very clean. All the places around are very causal as they know you're most likely coming from a baseball game. We started with the chicken quesadilla and for dinner, I got the prime rib and my wife got a NY Strip. Quesadilla was a great start. Loaded up and prepared perfectly. The prime rib was nice and tender the the au juis paired perfectly. I also got a side of horseradish which pushed the whole meal over the edge in perfection. There was no room for dessert. A short drive from the complex. This needs to be on your radar. Upstate Bar and Grill can get REALLY busy during peak season and times, but my friends and I were fortunate to have gone on a relatively quiet Thursday night. Our group is easy to please, but I have food allergies. The change of energy as I let our waitress know, Lynn was ready for war- openly admitted serving people with dietary restrictions is terrifying for her. She brainstormed with me, was patient with my questions, looked up ingredients AND helped me explain my allergy going forward. (Lynn also suggested getting business sized cards made for future restaurants.) So, for anyone with food restrictions, you WILL find food you can have. Gluten free options and substitutions are available. Veggie burgers are vegan, plus they have a burger option with a beet patty already offered on menu. (I got that without the bun.) Giant Pretzel for appetizer was wonderful. Considering the large number of people at the restaurant, our meals came fairly quickly. Plate portions were large. Burger, Chicken and Fish sandwiches were thick and juicy. The only negative thing I have to say, although the nachos were good, they were also cold. Cheese had already cooled down. We came on a Saturday, was sat right away around 8pm when went. They have onsite parking. The night prior we drive past and they were packed and had people in an overflow parking lot. They have outdoor seats to enjoy a beer or a drink if you'd like. Our server was nice, but not very attentive. The table next to us waited over 15 mins just to get their check and the restaurant was not busy. The food was just okay. The burger had potential, but it was SO salty. It was so salty I couldn't even finish it. It was like eating a salt lick (or what I imagine that would be like). The cauliflower bites were okay. They had a sweet and sour type sauce on them that was good, would try with the buffalo next time. Would come back, but would try something else. Visiting on a weekend, we were looking for someplace to watch football. Lucky enough to find the Upstate Bar and Grill. Bar seats 20 with 4 TVs, a large space outside, a pool table and dartboard area with TVs, and a huge dining area with a large TV. Bartender had a good sense of humor. Nice bar and grill in town that can definitely get busy. Cool bar ambiance with fire pits out front for some drinks while waiting for a table, and a nice big bar with live music. It can definitely get busy on the weekends. We came in and were sat right away. Our sever treated us took our drink order and was back shortly for our order. The food came out pretty quick. The cauliflower bits were good, but could use a bit more flavor in the batter. The burgers were good, perfectly cooked but just a tad over seasoned. They were definitely a bit more on the salty side. Also my girlfriend wanted some range for both the fried and cauliflower, but after the food was dropped it was hard getting our server back to the table. Sure he was busy but didn't check back and the table next to us had dinner and finished as we were getting out dinner and waited for a while and we finished our dinner and they still hadn't seen our sever. After a long and hot day at the baseball fields, we decided to try Upstate because we had seen their parking lot full every day...and now we know why!! The staff are friendly and the host was very welcoming of our large group. It is very family-friendly but also perfect for a date night. The food was absolutely amazing, I had the steak poke bowl, definitely a 10/10, and just could not stop raving about the flavors and how great it was...even the next day! Update is fun! The are great for big groups, the staff is well prepared. We were just a table of three, and we were seated very promptly during a gap in games at Dreams Park. The staff knows the deal, gets the baseball traffic, and for that reason alone, I highly recommend. The food just missed in a couple instance. Kids meals get five stars. The Buffalo chicken flatbread was just eh. Not a sweet potato crust like the menu advertises and too much sauce to enjoy the other toppings. I would not recommend the chicken tacos. They were decent, but it was a bad order. The salsa did not live up to menu advertised expectations. The summer salad was missing an ingredient from the menu, the protein-eggs, but if was fine. Our group would go back and recommend to try it when in Copperstown, but we would all order differently. Go for the staff and the service and just order a burger or sando. I also ordered the drunken clams and they were good but the broth was super bland . I had no idea what was going on with that broth lol . The bread that came with it was good , kind of a charbroiled taste. For dessert, I got the strawberry cake and that was the highlight of my meal and I'm wondering if it's because it's not made there. Completely taken by surprise at how good everything was on a dead weekday afternoon! The chef was on point, the waitress was so nice and attentive and the food was delicious- what else can you ask for. We ordered the bbq wings to start and it was so crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I would have honestly been happy eating it all by myself. My dad had the loaded chili and thoroughly enjoyed it. My mom ordered the salmon and said it was really good and I did a make your own burger. The portions were big and I didn't think I was going to be able to finish my burger but it was so good I ate every bite. I can't wait to go back when they have live music! The ABSOLUTE WORST resturant visit I have EVER EVER had. Server Jessica was the biggest C U Next Tuesday. Started off fine, but then a table of 20 or so came in sat next to us. Jessica completely forgot about us. We had to stop her to even put in our entree order In. But tables next to us who sat 25min AFTER got round after round after round of drinks and apps. 1hr and 20min later and fairly annoyed we asked about our food. "Let me check on it". As we walked ourselves to find the manager. We decided to take it all to go as we didn't want to sit anymore. Jessica then mumbled something as she walked away calling us "Assholes" and that's when it went down hill. Thats when I turned and wouldnt ignore her entitled attitude anymore. Manager was made aware, blonde fat lady wearing a yellow shirt. She could care less but kept saying calm down. Then server Jessica then decided to slam the check onto the table while staring at my Brothers Girlfriend trying either intimidate her or fight her. Until my brother stepped in and told her to back off. Again, manager does nothing (fat blonde lady at the front doors). That was the icing on the cake. I could sit here and write an in depth detailed book about what happened, but it would bore most of you. After taking the food to go on a $200 check. Made sure Jessica knew she wasn't getting a single cent for a tip, the food was so OVER COOKED and bland for a $36 steak dinner. Most pathetic experience i have ever had. 2 of us are from out of town and 1 diner was local. Considering we are in the area 10 times a year. You just lost customers and will make sure anyone we know will never go there. As for the other reviews. The owner likes to say " all these negatives are from the same group of people". But the nachos were not blackened chicken nachos, the chicken was like microwaved chicken, definitely not what was advertised on the menu. The steak had no flavor but on a high note was cut great and cooked good. The beer draft list was fine. The $14 old fashioned was okay but they did add a cherry on top that DID HAVE A PIT INSIDE. I almost broke my tooth eating the cherry because of the cherry pit. Lastly I did pay with a credit card which they did add additional charge for using a credit card on the bill. Overall I would say it's the Applebees of Cooperstown. If you have nothing else it's not a bad choice but if you're a resident I definitely wouldn't make this a regular dinner spot. Definitely stick to having burgers and sandwiches when eating here. read more

We actually went to this place a few times while in Cooperstown. The atmosphere is really good and has a great outdoor patio. Their service is great. The 2nd time we went we had a whole baseball team plus with us. They handled the party perfectly. First time I had the French dip sandwich and it was really good. Only thing is that I wish it had more horseradish sauce. The 2nd time I got the chicken Poke bowl and it was amazing. The flavors were fantastic and the ingredients were fresh. Pricey Bland steak We came here after a game with all the team families. We made it simple to order by just telling them what number our kids wore and that was our bill. Service was alright very overwhelmed waitress getting yelled at by boss in front of all of us which was messed up. I had Delmonico Steak which was bland it needed more seasoning but was very tender. My wife ordered Prime Rib and same thing very bland need it something the au juice didn't help. My son got Delmonico steak with Mac and cheese and the Mac and cheese was very delicious he smothered his steak with a1 sauce since it had no flavor. My son had a Hangover Burger which was alright. One evening, when looking for a place to eat dinner before watching a ball game, we stumbled upon a little place called Upstate Bar and Grill. We decided to go (obviously), and I walked in expecting an average bar and grill restaurant experience. However, I was delighted with the service. Our pitcher of water was constantly being refilled, so we were never thirsty. Also, our waiter was so kind and helpful, giving us recommendations on what to eat and drink. Then, when the food was brought out, I could not believe my eyes. It was so pretty and aesthetic, and looked delicious. Of course, it was. I got the shrimp tacos, which were the best I've ever had, and two of our party got the pulled pork mac and cheese, which looked phenomenal.
