I can't wait to go back and sit at the bar. Our waiter Shawn was great. Very calm, helpful and available when we needed him. The Lavender Lemonade is a delicious cocktail and a great way to start the meal. The Fat Cat Fries has so many flavors going on. They were good. I LOVED the Blistered Shishitos and Crabmeat Dip. The naan it was served with was warm and abundant. I do not like when you order a dip and hardly get any chips or bread for dipping. Tycoon covered it! Our friend had the French Onion Soup and liked it. The Steak Frites (substituted with broccolini) that our friend got looked amazing. My husband had the Wagyu Sliders and really enjoyed them. I had the Mediterranean Primavera with blacked chicken that our waiter recommended adding. It was very good. They have a nice wine selection. Not a huge list, but good.

So I have been wanting to try Tycoon for quite some time now. I decided to make reservations there…read morefor Valentine's Day, which was probably my first mistake. I made my reservation on Resy. A couple of days later I get a call from the restaurant saying they needed a $25 deposit over the phone, in case we cancel. I have dined at a lot of restaurants but never have I made a deposit upfront, they would just have a card on file and charge it if there is a no show. The lady on the phone (Chelsea) said we would only have 90 minutes at our table, which is standard for most restaurants. Nevertheless we paid $25 and kept our reservation, since Valentine's Day is busy time I figured this was the reason for all of this. Upon our arrival we were seated right away, and as soon as we sat down the hostess let us know that they would need our table by 5:45pm, because that is when the next reservation would be there. Right off the bat I felt rushed. I hated the table we were sat in, because we were so close in proximity to other people. Tycoon is very pretty inside, but if you are not seated in one of their spacious booths, the other tables are so close together, you will definitely hear other people's conversations. Let's talk about the food, I ordered the Lavender Lemonade as my cocktail and that was really good. For our appetizer we had the Deviled eggs, and I was excited because I love Deviled Eggs, but these were just okay. I didn't love how over stuffed they were, I just felt like it was too much. For my entree I had the Chicken Parmesan which I thoroughly enjoyed. I thought my meal was flavorful and the pasta was perfectly cooked. My husband had the sea bass and he loved his food. To end the night we shared their Dessert Trio and that was delicious, aside from the Creme Brûlée because that had no taste. Their service was good. Our waiter was nice and attentive. I definitely didn't feel rushed by him, but the same hostess stood near waiting for me to take my last bite of pasta so she could take the plate from the table. We were watching the time the whole time to make sure we got out of there on time. Overall I was disappointed. I get that Valentine's Day is busy day for restaurants but I don't want to be rushed through a dinner that should be enjoyable.

The music selection and volume were equally well done, balanced in a way that felt welcoming to every generation. At one point, I almost felt like I had stepped into the bar scene from *The Shining*, not in a creepy sense, but in that nostalgic, timeless atmosphere kind of way. The Old Fashioned was prepared exactly right, especially with my request for lighter bitters since I do not enjoy it overly sweet. Many places miss that balance, but they nailed it here. The charcuterie board was easily one of the best I have had. The mozzarella and white cheddar were perfectly portioned, fresh, and rich. The green apple slices tasted incredibly fresh, like they had just been picked from the orchards of Apple Hill in California. The honeycomb was a first for me on a board and made the experience especially memorable. The artwork throughout the space also adds a unique character that I always appreciate in a restaurant. The prosciutto was a little tough but still had good flavor, while the Calabrese was spot on. Service was professional and attentive, with frequent check-ins throughout the evening. My only recommendation would be for servers to introduce themselves, as that small touch makes the experience feel more personal and welcoming rather than simply transactional.

Now reading reviews post visit, I was surprised to see so many people expressing dissatisfaction…read morewith this lounge due to wait times for access, limited bathrooms, and stacked dishes at vacant tables. I can only assume many of those visits were later in the day when the airport is significantly busier, because my experience was the complete opposite. I had a little under an hour in the lounge with a flight arriving at 7:25am and departing at 8:50am. There was no line to check in and we were granted immediate access. Located in Terminal D across from Gate D12, guests must present their AMEX card and boarding pass for entry. The cardholder receives complimentary access, while additional adult guests are $50 and children are $30 each. If you spend more than $75K annually on your AMEX card, you receive two complimentary guest passes. Personally, I do not think paid guest access is worth it for a short layover, but I can definitely see the value during a longer one. The lounge itself is quite large, though maybe not large enough for a busy airport like Dallas considering the number of reviews mentioning wait times. During my visit, however, while there were plenty of people, there were still a few spare seating options available. Their lounge had a good variety of booths, dining tables, lounge chairs, workspaces, and even small private office areas for calls or meetings. The entire space felt clean and organized. The food was continuously replenished and stayed fresh throughout my visit, though nothing was particularly spectacular. It reminded me a lot of the complimentary breakfast at a Hyatt or Hilton. Still, it was absolutely appreciated after an early flight on an empty stomach. I did enjoy that they offered healthier options including fresh fruit, fresh pressed juices, and wellness shots. I also noticed staff regularly cleaning tables between guests, and the bar area seemed popular with travelers enjoying complimentary morning cocktails. The bathrooms were clean, modern, and had full privacy doors with no awkward gaps, which is an upgrade from the typical airport bathrooms. Overall, I had a good experience and would absolutely return during future travels through DFW.

    - American Express Centurion Lounge at DFW…read more I visited the Amex Centurion Lounge at Dallas Fort Worth early in the morning during a layover. The lounge opened around 5:00 a.m., so I expected the usual Centurion Lounge breakfast experience. What I did not realize was that, according to the employee working that morning, they do not begin serving the "real breakfast" until 6:30 a.m. Unfortunately, that was also when my flight began boarding, so I was unable to take advantage of it. Before 6:30, the available food consisted mainly of cold pastries, fresh fruit, and yogurt. Because I have a fruit allergy, most of those options did not work for me, so I ended up having a cup of coffee and a pastry. The coffee and pastry were fine, but the overall experience was disappointing compared with what I have come to expect from Centurion Lounges. Even a limited hot breakfast with simple items such as scrambled eggs, sausage, or oatmeal would have made a significant difference. DFW is a major international airport with flights operating throughout the day and night, so I was surprised that the lounge was only partially operational during part of its posted hours. In my view, if the lounge is open, guests should have access to more than a small cold selection, especially when many early-morning travelers may need to leave before 6:30. This was the first time I had encountered this at a Centurion Lounge. The lounge itself was still comfortable and the staff was polite, but the limited early-morning food service fell short of the standard I normally associate with Amex. I ended up leaving to go get "real breakfast" at another place that sold food.

This place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. I would give the ice cream side and market side more like a 4 out of 5 stars, but the restaurant side like a 3 out of 5 stars. Again, nothing that was bad, but nothing that was wow amazing as well. We ended up getting three dishes: fettuccine Bolognese, chicken marsala & butter penne kid meal. Out of the fettuccine Bolognese, chicken marsala i really enjoyed the fettuccine Bolognese, and i think the ricotta made the dish more rich and gave it extra flavor. Each meal came with bread, which is nice to soak up the sauce. I do wish they had olive oil and balsamic vinegar table side, so that we could use it on the bread. they have a full bar, with a tv right above it.

Martin greeted us as we sat and took our drink order. As we looked through the menu, it became hard to decide what to get, but something about their burger kept calling out my name, so the burger it was. Martin brought out our drinks and the espresso martini was delicious. I love that they had their own spin to it, adding hazelnut, because it's good to be a little different. I also love that they weren't batched, because you can definitely tell the difference. The foam on top of an espresso martini is one of my favorite things about the drink, and it was so foamy and velvety! The burger, man oh man, that burger slapped hard! Since it was a smashburger, there were two patties on the burger that were seared amazingly perfect on each side. The one thing I really appreciated is that the middle of the patties were still juicy and moist, and it was nice to get both textures in every bite of the burger!! My dad got the burger also, and agreed that it is one of the best burgers he's had in a long time! As we wrapped up our dining, my son wanted some dessert, so he decided the chocolate cake. I looked at the price and was like wow, that must be a good piece of cake, but whatever! And when the cake came out, we understood why! The cake was big enough to feed 6 people, and I love how light the cake was. Some chocolate cake can be heavy and chocolate forward, but this one had some great balance, and loved the chocolate fondue they had on the side! Great experience here, loved that it was in hotel, parking was super easy, and then there's some other cool spots in the hotel for grabbing food and drinks also!
