Found Society on Yelp and chose it based on the menu and great reviews. It did not disappoint. The atmosphere is swanky and club-like, and the food and service were truly special. We started with The OC mocktail, with a pineapple coconut mix that was as good as a full strength cocktail. Then we each tried a pasta dish - the mushroom pasta and the pistachio gin pasta were both delicious. What a find - can't wait to come back.
The vibes here are romantic, dim lighting and everything is very modern and clean. Special shoutout to our server Malysa, seriously the BEST customer service i have ever experienced!! Everything we had hit the mark for me, this place is truly special, the pasta was incredible... and the drinks... and the dessert!!!
Food was very good, service was fantastic, ambiance was good for a date night. My wife and I went there just to go out to dinner somewhere good. We had the whipped feta and honey appetizer (B-). I ordered the lobster penne (A-) and she ordered the vegetarian mushroom pasta (A+) and a glass of wine. We finished with their carrot leche cake for desert (C+). If you are looking for a date night place, this place is perfect. We were sat immediately at 530pm on a Saturday night, everyone was nice and the ambiance was cool, dark and chill. Perfect for conversation. If you are looking for top tier italian experience the food was good. Its worth the cost, and it was a great date night. I recommend this place and hope you enjoy it too!
Absolutely loved all of the decor in this restaurant! The artwork on the walls to the chandeliers and flower wall by the bathroom. The food was delicious and had to try the fresh made pasta they had on the menu and got the chicken Alfredo and added shrimp. The flavoring was really good, they did their own twist of spinach in their pasta which made the noodles green. I also got to try the chicken orzo and the chicken was nice and crispy and seasoned well!
I stopped by Society for a drink after a burlesque show at Tempe Improv (which is right next door). Located in a busy shopping center, you'll be able to find a free parking spot. Once you arrive, you'll take the stairs up to the second floor to reach this bar and restaurant. Ambiance (4.5/5): This is one of the areas where Society shines. I love the ambiance here, everything from the lights to the decor and decorations. I sat at the bar. It makes for a great date spot. Service (4/5): While we just had one drink, the service experience was a smooth one. We were greeted promptly, given a few minutes to peruse the menu before our order was taken, and when I wanted to close out, that was done promptly. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet on this visit. Drinks (4/5): Society has an interesting cocktail menu with pretty good prices. Outside of that, they also have a full bar. I was satisfied with my cocktail and would definitely come back after a comedy show at Tempe Improv for a nightcap. Next time around, I'll have to try the food.
Went here for my anniversary and it was a treat! They customized our menus for the occasion! :) Ambiance is low light and a cute restaurant - good for casual drinks to a fancy dinner, which we were there for! Love the mirror for pictures near the bathrooms. It's located near Trader Joe's, and it is upstairs next to the Improv. Because of the area, there is no shortage of parking in the evening hours. First, we started with two drinks, a cocktail and a wine. I did not enjoy the wine, but the cocktail was yummy! We got the crispy Brussels sprouts & kale to start, and it was DELICIOUS!!! I'd 1000% get this again on my next trip to Society. For entrees, we shared vodka pasta and the filet, and both were good - not great! I'd like to try some other entree items to see how they compare. Lastly, they gave us a treat for our anniversary, which was the cherry on top! Overall, the experience was worth the trip and I loved celebrating my anniversary there!
This place so beautiful. Great place for a quick drink or snack before a comedy show next door. I enjoyed a fresh grapefruit juice and beer tartare. I loved it. The beef was fatty and perfect. I did love the cold beef off the warm potato cake to enjoy each separately. The bartenders were great, Chris and Lucas so warm and attentive. Great stop!
We had an amazing date night experience at Society! We had to sit at the bar because we didn't have a reservation and they were "booked" for the first hour. So I guess make sure you put in a reservation if you're coming on a weekend night. I put "booked" in quotes because within the hour we were there, we still saw a lot of empty tables. Nevertheless, sitting at the bar wasn't that bad. The service was still pretty quick, our food came out fast and when I asked for something they brought it out right away. The food was AMAZING! My wild mushroom pasta was so tasty and I am so glad I tried it. My partner got the burrata pasta and that crispy chicken was tender and juicy. I had to steal some from him. The highlight was our appetizer, I wish I had more of that feta dip because it was the perfect balance.
I came here for the first time and was surprised by the quality of the food. I ordered the pesto pasta, and it was really good Italian cuisine. The staff was friendly, and I really liked the ambience of the restaurant. It was dimly lit with flower decorations all over. The energy seemed to be buzzing. My only complaint is that it seemed to take a little while for our food to come out. We made a reservation and were seated right away. There is parking in the general parking lot.
Definitely on the pricey side but food and drinks were good and service was outstanding. We celebrated our son's birthday and they had a menu all set up with birthday wishes and the waitress was super attentive. It was pretty empty early in the evening on a Sunday but I've heard this place can get super packed on Friday and Saturdays. I personally think there are many other great restaurants in the general area so this wouldn't be my first pick if I'm going to drop a couple hundred on dinner but it's a solid option and we didn't leave disappointed.
A few friends and I went to a pre prom birthday dinner at society. We would definitely say it was a mixed bag. We started with the feta dip, which was ok, but had too much honey for my taste and didn't come with enough regular bread for each person (4) to have a slice (there was pita but still)... we tried the Mac and Alfredo balls, the balls themselves were just ok but the vodka sauce was delish. We had the bacon wrapped dates, which were tasty. For entrees, I had the chicken with orzo and have to say I was a little disappointed. It's a bit like chicken parm, the chicken itself was really good but it came on top of giant pieces of burnt broccolini that took away from the flavor of the whole dish. The orzo under the chicken was good, kinda risotto like, but there was so little of it. This dish could be awesome with some tweaks. We all really liked the gin pistachio pasta.., that sauce was amazing. The service at the bar was good. They brought out a little ice cream treat for my birthday, which was also nice. Overall, I'd say it just was more expensive than it was tasty, but I would consider going back for that pistachio pasta.
We were looking for a new restaurant to try before attending a play and this was recommended to us. From the moment we walked in nothing disappointed us. We had reservations and were quickly sat. The VIBE...it's absolutely adorable! The lighting, the decor, every detail made us smile! To our surprise they have a Sunday happy hour. This is always a fun surprise! We had a round of drinks, and all were delicious. We ordered the dates and whipped feta as apps. They all came out quickly and again were so delicious. We all raved about the feta! If you like feta, definitely try this! We all decided on pasta one had the lobster pasta, I ordered the pesto and added 4oz salmon another had the penned and lastly one ordered the pasta with spicy sausage and added shrimp. All of our dishes came out piping hot and after our first bites we knew we were hooked. The pasta was cooked to perfection, the dishes were full of flavor and the salmon was absolutely Devine with the pesto pasta! I haven't even touched on the service as it was seamless, perfectly timed service when we needed but not over the top. We were all shocked we had never heard of Society before and all agreed we will be coming back again soon!

Had a wonderful experience here with a large group---food and service never faltered! We ordered a variety of things from the menu, so here are some highlights: Bacon Wrapped Dates: 100/5 Super indulgent. Crispy bacon, sweet dates, and tangy chevre. A classic, favorite combo, but done really generously here. Chef's Special (Chilean sea bass with saffron risotto): 5/5 I would make this a permanent menu offering, if I were them! Such a stunner, with light and bold flavors together. Seared Salmon: 4/5 The mushroom and artichoke ragout might have been my favorite part. The salmon was cooked well, but was not as remarkable as the sea bass. Lemon pappardelle with lobster: 4/5 Pasta was tasty and chewy, in a homemade way (can't be certain that it was though). Lobster was generous, but the lemon sauce was a bit light. Wish there was more flavor there. Should highlight the friendly, exceptional service. We were a rowdy group of 12, and our great servers frequently came by to answer questions, refill water, and stay on top of clearing plates. Thanks so much to our ladies! The ambiance was really nice and the service was great, but what I was underwhelmed by was the food. The steak was too on the rare side. I love a red steak but it was so red it was unappetizing. I had really high expectations and was sadly dissatisfied. I will say the ceviche was good and the Alfredo was decent. The vibes are great and the dj was fun, definitely a place for a birthday, but not a place if your main attraction is the food. read more

I've been to the Society a few times now, it's now my favorite place to go for yummy late night eats in Tempe. Dark yet fun and swanky atmosphere with great service. Cute date night spot or for group celebrations. It's conveniently next door to Tempe Improv comedy club. read more

The ascetic's of this place is next level ! The light is low and relaxing there is a floral ceiling throughout which looks incredible ! Very much a vibe place, kinda quiet so you can have an intimate dinner. We were seated right away our waiter helped us pretty quickly. Both our meals were delicious . It was my boyfriends birthday but unfortunately they don't do anything special for those occasions . Overall it was a nice visit, definitely a place you want to try once just to go experience the look of it all! read more

I almost walked right by this place. It's on the second story of a an interesting-looking strip mall containing several restaurants and other types of businesses. There's an improv club next door. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. The wait staff is very friendly and efficient. I ordered the salmon with artichokes and it came out tender, savory, and juicy. It was a little salty in some areas but the way it was done had me enjoying every bit. My parents also enjoyed their plates as well. There is a ladies' night from what I hear, where some of the drinks are marked down. The restrooms are clean and it's not some ridiculously busy restaurant. The atmosphere was just right. read more

Date night is fun here! Make a reservation or wait at the bar for table like we did. They will ask you to close out your bar tab before you move to the table. I understand it makes it easier on the staff this way. Shout to Josh our Bartender he was on point with recommendations and super attentive with all of his customers. I appreciate that he was talkative and respectful at the same time. After about 35 mins our table was ready. Boldin was our server and he was quick efficient and got our order just right. The food was delicious. The Lobster pasta needed more Lobster but cooked to perfection, nice lemon flavor too. The star of the night for me were the Brussel sprouts, that balsamic hit just right. The ceviche was yummy. The risotto balls were ok. I would love to see a bowl of risotto on the menu. Finally, The ambiance and decor is picture perfect, which enhances the evening in a special way. On a Friday night it was loud and a good mix crowd. We will be back. read more
This places surprised me with the quality and energetic atmosphere. My boyfriend and I dined in for a date night while staying the weekend in Tempe. The service was incredibly fast and friendly. We started off splitting a delicious caesar salad, and for cocktails we got tequila based drinks that were very fancy! I really enjoyed my main of the filet with asparagus and mashed potatoes. I was skeptical going in on ordering the steak since they offer a variety of cuisines, but the steak was cooked perfectly and the sides complimented it very well. My boyfriend enjoyed the bolognese pasta, and the cocktails were flowing as we enjoyed our evening. Definitely recommend! As a plus, you can go to the comedy show right next door if you plan in advance. read more

We decided to check out this restaurant because of the grand opening post on Instagram. We arrived around 6:30pm on Friday 3/25, 30 minutes after they opened for grand opening. We asked our server if there were any specials tonight (since the instagram post said there were drinks and food specials all night). She said no and explained happy hour has ended. I found that odd because the post said specials all night. Later that evening, I overheard the server behind us explaining to the table that grand opening specials have ended (still odd). Aside from the grand opening specials disappointment, the food was spectacular. We had the Diablo Tips for appetizer. For entrees, we got the Honey Hot chicken sandwiches, Pasta Alla Vodka with salmon and Bolognese Pasta. Overall, I recommend the sandwich or pasta with salmon. The Bolognese was good but it was like a simple pasta with meat. The restaurant was beautiful inside. Loved the decor and ambience. The music wasn't super loud so we were able to hear each other. Definitely a good place for date night. A bit disappointed there wasn't any live music for grand opening as the Instagram post stated. read more

Not at all impressed. The whipped feta was great but we were not impressed with the other dishes. Meatballs were ok, scallops nothing special, the rabbit Bolognese sauce was just too thick - not to mention the bones that were in it just made it undesirable to eat. The best out of the three entree dishes was the creamy lemon lobster - but it was a heavy dish and my daughter had an upset stomach all night. The bananas foster was good but really just average. We were really disappointed because it has such good reviews - but for us it wasn't worth driving 45 mins to go to. read more

WOW! My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary dinner and we will absolutely be back!! The staff is so friendly, they even personalized our menus for us. The drinks were top notch (we had a regular old fashioned and their strawfashioned, the cab I ordered was also great) and the food was INCREDIBLE. Our server, Jake, recommended the whipped feta and the arancini appetizer, and those were two of the best appetizers I've ever had! I got the Chef's Vodka for dinner, my boyfriend got the pound of muscles, and they were so delicious. We capped our night off with two pours of Montenegro, another suggestion from Jake and it did not disappoint! Jake was also so awesome. Kind, knowledgeable about the menu, funny, paced everything correctly, etc. He is one of the best servers we've had in a LONG time. The vibe and ambiance at the restaurant is also stellar. The lighting is really cool, the screensavers they have playing on the screens and the decor is relaxing and neat. And the price!!!! When we got our tab we laughed! It was easily half the price we thought it was going to be. We will be back!!!!!! read more

Society is a true Gem in the heart of Tempe. This place stole my heart the first night we came and I have yet to have less than a great experience. First time ever, there was a DJ playing some ethereal house music and it fit the vibe of the restaurant perfectly. Hopefully we can come back to this again! I don't agree to hear a trending pandora playlist in a nice place, so the music choice here is wise and I hope it stays that way! As far as service, the waiters are dressed nicely and have always been pleasant, kind and informative. The food and drinks are worthy of their price. Pasta is made in house and so delicious. After seeing Yelp reviews on the appetizers, I can't wait to go back again to try them. read more
Had dinner here on Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised with the food, ambience and service received. The interior decor with all the flowers was a fun and whimsical atmosphere. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable with food and drink recommendation, but had a bit of a uppity attitude. Ordered the chicken Alfredo gnocchi for my entree and enjoyed the rich and creamy sauce, along with the grilled chicken pieces mixed in the dish. read more

The food at Society is fantastic and the decor is so fun. the whipped feta dip has honey and everything seasoning served with bread and pita, ugh so amazing!! We had the chefs vodka pasta, all of their pasta is made in house and cooked perfectly. the textures and uniqueness in flavor were spot on. The Caesar salad was also great, no fishiness at all and I think they put yellow peppers in the salad too. Brussel sprouts were the best I've ever had. The service was attentive & friendly, highlyyyyy recommended. read more

My friend and I stopped in on a Friday night. We ordered The Floor is Guava, Diablo Tips, and side of fries. The service was great considering that the we're closing in 40 minutes. The ambience was nice and vibe was chill. Cute decorations! Would definitely recommend! read more

I would say it's ok for the day time it might get louder at night or after 10pm

Reverse Wednesdays: 10pm-12am Sundays through Thursdays: 4pm-6pm
Do they have vegan options!?? I don't see vegan options in their menu? Unless I totally missed it!?
No main dishes are vegan, they would require substitution or removal of cheese/meat. Many of the sides are vegan however.
Does Society offer gluten-free options? Looking at a dinner with our teenager who has celiac and want to make sure there would be teen-friendly and safe choices. TIA!
