Had a special occasion and my regular stylist wasn't available so I came here for a blow dry. It is owned by a lovely couple. Nice, modern shop with several stylists. They have a choice of beverages and sone snacks. The shampoo girl does a wonderful job with a nice massage. Teka does an amazing blow dry in record time. They have a special for a series of blow dries which i will definitely do. Nothing like a professional to make yoir hair look its best. read more

I had a great experience! Not sure why this salon has gotten these reviews. They were very nice when I called and gave me an appointment the same day. I got a moroccan oil conditioning treatment with a blow dry. Teka was amazing. She massaged my scalp and was very thorough with the wash and conditioning treatment. It was very relaxing. The treatment was accompanied with heat. I love the way she styled my hair and she was very fast. I have very thick hair and it usually takes longer. They offered me coffee and a dessert. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! First of all I hate to talk bad about someone or something, but unfortunately it is the truth. Had I went with the previous reviews I would have saved my self from some "heartache." I'm doing this to help whoever thinks about going to VIVA. Here we go: Red flag #1: When I got there (granted, I walked-in) the owners and a couple other ladies were in the back of the salon chatting. The salon was empty except for one lady. I waited there for minutes as I watched them chat away and no one even acknowledged me. When the owner finally came to the front she didn't even have the courtesy to ask me how long I was waiting for or 'apologize' for the wait. Red flag #2: I asked if someone was available for my haircut and she looked around (to an empty salon) and said "I'm sorry, but no." Then she looked back again and looked at what seems to be the shampoo girl (probably not even out of school yet) and told her "unless you want to take her?" (and by "her" she was referring to myself to me right in front of me)The (shampoo) girl was eager to say "yes!" I explained EXACTLY what I wanted and it wasn't even to much to ask. But the girl took the freedom to ignore what I asked and do the opposite! I waited for a whole year to grow out my side bangs and she cut them all over again!!! I was so mad. While she was shampooing my hair I asked her how long she had been there for she answered "a month." Red flag #3: This girl had no visible laminated license exposed which is illegal and confirms my suspicion that she is not yet licensed. And #4: she pulled out a dirty brush - which was NOT pulled out of the bactericide liquid - to brush my hair. (I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER, but to not be a jerk I let it slide. I was stupid, lesson learned). The story is much longer, but to keep it short I went there and got my money back from the owner. She didn't discuss it, just returned the money no questions asked. She obviously didn't care to have me as a long-term customer and I honestly felt discriminated. She just looked me in the eye with a half smile that didn't seem all that sincere to me (almost sarcastic, really) and said "Sorry." I just walked out before I got my self into trouble. I wasn't gonna let myself get angrier than I was. ***Note to Sabrina (owner) and Fernanda (girl who ruined my hair): Sorry just isn't enough, is it? Also, please make sure your staff is actually licensed (or expose their license) and that they have EXPERIENCE or warn customers that the person cutting their hair is fresh out of school. If I wanted a current student to cut my hair I would have gone to cosmo school for the cut. You ruined my hair, didn't make an effort to understand me or make up for it. One more thing, you should treat customers equally. It's horrible business ethics to discriminate based on appearance. Don't assume anyone is stupid. And PS: I'm sure this review is still better for you than me filing a complaint with the DBPR for not having licenses properly exposed. I went to this place to get my highlights done. She did it ok, then I asked her for a new hair treatment called Botox. She told me it was an expensive treatment to restore my hair. I accepted to do it; However part of the process was to flat my hair and to use the iron, the treatment became very bad. I told her not to pass so many times the flat iron and so she try to use another method because she burned my hair. She acted very unprofessional telling me that my hair was horrible before I came to the salon. She didn't want to fix it; she threw me out of the salon and was rude. When I left the salon; she texted me to apologize! Bipolar? This was the worse experience I ever had at a salon. Do not come to this place!! The customer service is the lowest I've seen! read more

Blow drying is very good, but the basis of the success of any business is customer service. VIVA falls short in this respect. I was very specific with the color I wanted, and the hair stylist did not achieve what I wanted. When I ask her to correct it, she refused indicating that she would try to match the color next time. Really? If your looking for a Brazilian place, there are plenty to choose from in the area. I got an awesome deal for highlights, a trim, and a moroccan oil treatment here! At first, I was really nervous because they gave me more lowlights than I am used to. However, it's been a few weeks so I am used to it now and the lowlights have faded slightly. I am really happy with it! The cut and conditioner were great. The appointment process was a little disorganized because they just ran a groupon and were definitely overwhelmed, but I think it's a good, reasonably priced salon (hard to find in Boca), and I plan to return! read more

I just got the Hair Botox treatment with Dani at the Viva hair Studio and I loved it. My hair was very dry and damaged from weakness, sun exposure and color treatment, but after the first time I washed it, I noticed the difference...I would totally recommend the treatment if your hair needs a boost...Loved it, will do it again read more
