Once the change in management happened, the customer service has gone down. Though it is a low cost option, it doesn't need to treat its customers in the way they do. When there is issues with the laundry or payment, the store refuses to call they have the driver call with half the information. If you are bold enough to take the customers' money, you should be equally as bold to call the customer if their an issue. This is not how you do business. Especially one who has stood by the business through their transition. The worse if it is the person they have answering the phones doesn't even know how to explain the situation either. They don't do payments and it is someone else who does it. Its very frustrating when the service you are paying your money to complete a task doesn't know how to communicate to their clients. That is bad business practice.

They provide a 1.5-hour window for pickup and delivery but are consistently 2 to 3 hours late, making it impossible to plan around, especially if you need to go to work. They often call 10 minutes before arriving telling you they are at your door--if they have the correct address at all--which means you have to wait outside. Even if you're forced to take a work-from-home day because of their delays, the first few hours are still highly disruptive. On top of that, they have lost my laundry before and now rarely answer calls or texts. I used to love the convenience of this service, but unfortunately, I won't be using them again. Don't just read the reviews from before, that was when the service was good :(

The laundromat is spacious and has multiple spaces to fold your clothes. If you need to buy detergent or fabric softener they also have that available to purchase. The lady working at the store is also very nice and she speaks Spanish. I highly recommend coming here for your laundry needs.

Who knew you could love a laundromat?! This place is perfect; exactly what hat my neighborhood needed, otherwise I would have to lug heavy laundry 10-15 minutes to the nearest run-down, disgusting laundry rooms. To say that SockMonster is clean, is an understatement; its immaculate. State of the art multi-functional washing and drying machines, no complicated money-card systems, just old-fashioned quarters. There's a cute little TV lounge in the back where you can enjoy a snack, or watch television while you wash. I paid a very reasonable fee for having a large comforter washed. It smells and looks great, and the turnaround time was fast. But, what is perhaps most charming about this soon-to-be neighborhood favorite, is the young lady who operates this place. She is so personable and helpful. I dare say, it was a pleasure to do my laundry here. read more

This laundromat is a gem in the neighborhood. Recently moved here, needed somewhere to do my laundry, and discovered it. It's intimate, clean, and welcoming. The machines are brand new and extremely efficient. I was able to wash, dry, and fold two loads in under one (1) hour. Their dryers are FAST! There's always an attendant present. And the attendants are very friendly and helpful. I will certainly make this MY laundromat and will highly recommend it. BTW, they accept drop-offs!! I learned they can also pick up - This is a win for those days I don't wanna haul my laundry to SockMonster. Love the name also!! read more

This place is the best laundromat ever. I have gone to all of the ones in this area, they are priced the same, but you get more bang from your buck here from both washer and drier. Their machines are brand new, no one has these. Their washer has a super wash button which means it washes your clothes twice, score! And you could fill the whole huge drier up and 30 mins, 75 cents later everything was dried. Unreal. I mean how can you beat this? Had an awesome experience here!! The Place was clean and cozy. It wasn't crowded and the machines weren't expensive to use. Nice to have a laundromat where the attendants were actually able to help instead of standing around for their shifts to end. I saw one of the attendants doing the wash and Folds. She was meticulous in her approach. I highly recommend this place. I'll likely use their drop off next time since they have a very quick turn-around time. read more

It's so nice to finally have a laundromat right around the corner! Not only is the location fantastic for me (and other tenants in the area dreading the couple-of-blocks walk to the busy street of Willis Avenue and beyond), but its employees and the cleanliness of the space makes time spent here that much better. Amazing place. So clean and the girl who runs the place is so sweet and helpful!! The washer was $6.50 and held about 3-4 loads of laundry and washed everything perfectly. The dryers are free on Tuesdays and Wednesday's so I used three dryers on the house! This is exactly the place Port Morris needed. I'm in love! read more

A person in my circumstances NEEDS laundry pick-up/delivery without castigation or harassment. I called this place based on the positive Yelp reviews to inquire about this service. They told me their minimum was 30 pounds. Well, I don't have a scale to weigh a heavy bag on; I simply know when the bag is full and hard for me to maneuver. I mentioned my plight, they told me they only accept cash, would weight the laundry when they had it and would call me to tell me how much it was (as I bank with a credit union that has free ATMs in limited locations so I'd need some time to get cash out of the bank since they don't take credit cards). Days after my laundry pick-up (with no word on when I'd get my clothes back or how much this order will cost), I have to arrange to get my stuff back so I can have clean underwear for the next week. They inform me of the price then & tell me I have to be home right at that instant with cash on hand to get my laundry, telling me of no other time when I could do it. They claimed I was trying to finagle for a special trip for a 12 pound load of laundry and were trying to have me walk 8 blocks to get all that stuff and then try getting it up that 4th floor walk-up with zero help from anyone while I was merely trying to figure out when I could get my stuff back and when they were in the area to drop it off. They did a great job in handling my laundry and folding my socks (hence not getting a 1 star) review but when I tried getting this done again, they basically discriminated against single professionals. I also don't like that lack of credit card acceptance so now I have to see about another dedicated laundry service so I can get this done once a month.
