BLUF: Thoroughly inspect you product before you purchase!!! Poor customer service and not willing to help customers with quality control issues with their products. They knowingly carry products that should not be sold for poor quality control (print error). They do not make an effort to remove known problem product from their shelves. They will resell items returned for problems they are aware of. Don't expect them to put much effort into helping you. Read below if you care to have the full context. I came in to purchase a pair of socks since I forgot to pack a pair. I settled on a pair of crew socks with logos (schoolhouse from a major motion picture) for $12 pre tax. I walked down the street and took the package off and threw it in the trash. I sat at the coffee shop a few shops down that had a table to put on my socks and noticed that I had two left socks (the pair should have a logo on the outside of each leg at the calf). I walked back to the store and told the lady working (she was the only one) what happened and our conversation was very close to: (Her) Yes, we are aware of that issue. It's just hit or miss with each pair. We have written to the company but don't know if they've fixed the design error. (Me) Do you mind if look for a set that is correct? (Her) Sure. *note: she didn't bother getting up to help and there were no other customers in the store* I found a pair though it was a different school house and brought it to her. (Me) Ok, its not the exact same but there were none (of the one I had) left. (Her) I need the packaging. (Me) I threw it away. (Her) I can't exchange without the original packaging. (Me) Are you serious? (Her) We can't resell them without the original packaging. (Me) Ok, I guess I'm keeping them. Yes, I understand IT IS A PAIR OF SOCKS. I was trying to manage my expectations when I walked into this store, because it seemed like any shop on Cannery Row would have sky-high prices and hideous touristy junk. But I was pleasantly surprised by SockShop, which makes the most of its tiny store and really packs in the novelty socks! Every inch of wall space is crammed full of socks, as it should be. I saw a lot of familiar brands that I like: Sock It To Me, Hotsox, K. Bell, Foot Traffic, etc. To save space, they alternate colorways on the rack, so if you see a pattern you like, make sure to poke back a bit to see what other color options are available. Novelty sock shops usually have mostly women's socks, and this is the case here, but there is a decent amount of stuff for men, kids, and babies, too. Prices are similar to other fancy sock stores, ranging from $5-10 and up depending on what you're looking for. They do also have plainer and athletic styles if wild patterns and garish colors aren't your thing. I found a fantastic pair of wintery s'mores-and-hot-cocoa themed socks by Hotsox that I loved, so I had to get them. Service was pleasant and friendly and the guy behind the counter said he was a novelty sock lover too. If you're looking for fun souvenirs or gifts, this store has several Monterey-esque styles with otters, boats, and ocean themes. A way better gift than a crummy mug or keychain! read more

This place was a life safer (or should I say, foot saver) this weekend as my dumb ass decided (stupidly) to be fashionable over functional. 1/2 block into our decent on Cannery Row, my feet were KILLING me and the heat didn't make anything better (oh, to be under 35 again)...Anyway, this is a small cute sock shop and then some. They have tights to slippers to jewelry too, but most of all, they had flip flops.
