I bought a jar of face cream from Shiseido for the first time. It was a 1.7 oz jar and the women who helped me said it was $103. Not having ever bought the brand I didn't question it. But just now I washed my face and put some on and looked up the jar I bought on Macy's website. I wanted to read some reviews. What I found out is that I was charged for a 2.5 oz jar. The 1.7 oz jar is $78 and I was charged $103. So glad I went looking for reviews otherwise I would have never caught it. Taking it back tomorrow. read more

Definitely need to do better on how product is being sold, came in for a pair of denim that were on sale for 60-75% off but unfortunately the tag was lost. So Letti made the original tag and didn't deduct the percent that was supposed to be off and tried to sell them to me full price. Not even a 10% discount was offered no help at all. Waited about 30-40 minutes and no help. However I believe John from the jewelry department helped me right away with my other items of purchase super professional and helpful made me feel welcomed. I'm really disappointed with my recent experience at Macy's. I purchased a set of Hotel Collection sheets expecting high quality, especially given the price point and reputation of the brand. Unfortunately, after a short period of use, the sheets began to pill and form little balls, which made them feel rough and worn much sooner than expected. When I brought them back to the store, I was hoping for a simple exchange for a new set, as this seemed like a quality issue. However, the store refused to exchange them, which was frustrating and disappointing. I feel that a product in this category should hold up better, and customer service should stand behind it. Overall, this experience has made me hesitant to purchase higher-end bedding from Macy's in the future. I expected better quality and more accommodating customer service. read more

No one even acknowledged my presence. I took my pants to the checkout station and he was very nice. Asked for help in the men's department and was quickly assisted by Matthew Irving. He's a stylist specialist at Macys and sure does know how to dress and assist customers. He picked out a few suits for my Dad to try on, gave suggestions on shirt and tie Within 30 minutes my dad was done with the task of buying a two piece suit, dress shirt, a tie and shoes to wear at his grandsons wedding. Mathew has excellent fashion taste. He was wearing a black two piece suit and was dressed to a T! He knows style and is doing an excellent job. read more

This Macy's is a magnet that pulls us in each time we visit Monterey. My husband loves the men's outdoor section with its wide selection of pants and jackets. We always find a bargain here, and sure enough a sturdy black down-filled jacket for only forty dollars got our attention. It's the perfect outerwear for sports or hiking! The men's checkout was closed, so we went over to the jewelry section, where a very friendly older man checked us out. Vinny from the Channel makeup counter was a pleasure to work with! We came to visit on Mothers Day just to browse and look at a few options. Vinny found us and was excellent. My mother was looking for options that would suit rosacea without causing irritation/acne and not require a lot of color correction. Oh and it should be simple so it can fit a busy work life . On the first try, Vinny correctly color matched her and gave a throughout explanation about what to look for and what features would give her what shes looking for. Great selection of colognes, really good prices compared to other places. Came in looking to buy some clothes and ended up leaving with a bottle of Sauvage Elixir by Dior.It most definitely has longevity, one bottle once lasted me two years. I wasn't planning on buying any colognes upon entering this store, however once the rich spicy smell of luxury-fragrances beckoned the room i couldn't resist. Decided to treat myself despite having various colognes at home (you can never have too many) I like to smell good. I definitely saved money here compared to other places I have visited. Tried to buy shoes while three young ladies were chit chatting it up and I literally had to interrupt them for help. Shoes I wanted were only available on line. Tried to get help in the purse department. Literally stood there waiting to get the eye of a salesperson to just have her walk by and say "not my department" , it's the shoe departments responsibility, she walked out the door. Finally we asked for the other clerk to call someone, which she did. We waited another 10 minutes before we said F it! They don't want our business! She was so very helpful and answered questions I had about cosmetics and there availability here. She assured me that items I was not finding were on order and would arrive soon. My favorite part was the basement, where they carried all the cooking supplies. Excellent choices for plates and fabulous pans. And always a good selection of Kithen Aid products for my mixer. A few years ago I went to customer service to get a sensor that was not removed from a purchase at another Macys. I was accused of theft! Even that I had the receipt and my license and method of payment! I went back to speak to the regional mgr to complain. She also told an employee who she didn't know was an acquaintance - 'he stole it'! Shocking! I assume this is how brown Latinos are treated at Macys! I know her name and will never forget it. Beautiful products though very pricey. I like to shop their clearance racks for quality clothing, at reasonable prices. Good to physically try on sizes of different designers, then I can order the correct size on line. Also, I pick up at the store to avoid shipping charges and because my USPS does not always deliver. They have returned orders on more than one occasion without giving me notice, even though they lied about leaving a delivery notice. Macy's carries very pretty feminine designs and soft sexy materials, I always felt guilty buying for myself. However, I am over 50 now and am forcing myself to live well and enjoy life. He apparently doesn't work mornings, as he emphatically repeated until redundant, while accusing me of being a shifty conman instead of helping me resolve an issue with their faulty broken 14k gold product. For being a big-name store, I did not expect much from Macy's when it comes to customer service. My grandma and I went upstairs to their Last Act section for women's clothing. My grandma went and asked one of the employees (older lady, well-dressed with heels) for help as one of the tops that she picked out did not have any price on it. So the employee asked my grandma to follow her so they can check the price of the top. However, when they reached the counter, or wherever she led my grandma to, she started chit-chatting to another coworker. So, when my grandma approached her regarding the price check... All she said was "Oh, you can have HER check the price for you.", eventually asking my grandma to ask another employee to help her because talking to another coworker or acquaintance is more important. I am normally an understanding person. However, the way that the employee handled the situation was wrong. Unless she was absolutely busy, I would understand why she would send my grandma to see another employee. But no, she was not, in fact... the entire floor is pretty quiet with a few customers here and there. read more

It was a packed weekend in Monterey and I was in Macys and it was so low staffed coming out of Covid and she bent over backwards to help me. I really appreciate her attention to detail and very positive attitude. My daughter and I went looking for the juniors section when we first walked in. All the sales people I could find were busy so we looked at a directory that showed which floor each department is on. I may have been wrong but there was ONE sign (the rest didn't have it) that indicated juniors was on floor "L" which is the lower level. We headed down to the lower level, walked around, found the discount area (forget what that is called) which had junior clothes in it but not much of a selection so we kept looking for the "regular" juniors section. Both of us had to use the restroom so we saw a sign and headed that direction. We found the bathroom (one person bathroom) and waited with one person ahead of us. While waiting I asked a salesman where the juniors section was and he said it was on the other side of the escalator. I looked at him funny and clarified- not the discount junior section, the regular juniors section. He said, yes, that's where it is. I said "ok, I'm pretty sure that's where we just came from but we will look again". By the time it was our turn the bathroom had ZERO paper products. We had to move on. I mentioned to a saleswoman there that the bathroom didn't have paper products, she said she would call someone... We ended up holding it for quite a while. Off we went back to the other side of the escalator. I should mention I am walking with a cane this entire time, getting pretty weary with the back and forth and misdirection. We asked another saleswoman (on "the other side of the escalator") about the junior section and she told us it was on level two. Good grief! Up two floors we went. It took quite some time for us to find something for her but we were relieved to have at least found the right section. Then it was time for check-out. We looked all over the place for a register that was open and finally found one with one cashier and a long line; I was pretty tired and in pain by this point so opted to find a cashier on another floor on our way out. (Where did everyone go?) We finally found someone in the jewelry section but as he agreed to ring us up he realized we had clothing and that he didn't have the ability to take the security tags off clothing. My heart dropped for a second as I dreaded walking back to another clothing section and waiting in a line again but he seemed to hear the desperation in my voice so he took care of us, walked across the way to take the security tags off (thanks so much) and we finally left still needing to use the restroom. read more

Macy's is probably the worst furniture store of all time. We went in there to purchase a mattress last night with the full intent of walking out with an order and both the sales people were so uninterested in helping us, we opted not to purchase anything. Now it was 7pm when we got there but they still had an hour until closing, I would think most sales people would welcome something to do for an hour before their shift ended. The man sales person was simply playing solitaire on his computer and didn't even look up. We were the only ones in the store. Macy's customer service is even worse, I'm pretty sure they purposely make it as difficult as possible to get service done so they don't actually have to let anyone use their warranties. I pretty much hate them and will just purchase the bed from the website directly because they offer the same price with much better service and gave us accessory credits. For piece of mind, don't buy furniture from Macy's. read more

Went to Del Monte today with my wife and 2 year old twins (son and daughter). While my wife headed off to other stores with our son, my daughter and I headed to Macy's to purchase me a new shirt for our upcoming vacation. While the Tommy Bahama section was extremely limited, I ultimately found a shirt to try on and headed to the dressing room. While in the dressing room, I hear a voice ask, "Sir, is everything okay?" I respond that it is and then hear the voice ask again, "Sir?" With my shirt half buttoned-up, I open the door and come face-to-face with employee "Xenia." "Xenia" proceeds to tell me that I can't be in the dressing room with my TWO YEAR OLD DAUGHTER because "we don't know what guys are doing with little girls." To say I blew up was an understatement. She then proceeded to tell me that it was the store policy. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Not only was she implying I was a child molester, she was suggesting I leave a TWO YEAR OLD unaccompanied outside in the dressing room? This was the first time I've ever been accused of something so disgusting and atrocious so I feel my explosive reaction was justified. Needles to say, I had some choice words for "Xenia." Once outside, I was so fired up I demanded to speak to a manager while I let Xenia know that her accusation was disgusting, hurtful, and inappropriate. I then asked if she allows moms to go into changing rooms with their sons and the genius that she is tells me that moms don't go in this changing room because it's the men's section. Yeah, no kidding, Sherlock. Xenia claimed to try to find a manager but was unsuccessful. I went to the perfume counter where the employee there was extremely polite and helpful and did her best to find a manager for me. After waiting about 15 minutes (Really? It takes 15 minutes to find a manager?", I met with "Dean," and explained to him what happened. I asked him if it was store policy to prevent dads from taking their toddlers to the restroom and changing room and he said it absolutely was not and that "Xenia" was out of line. He claimed he was going to talk to her about the incident. Whether he was just being polite to try to calm me down or whether he was genuine, I'll never know. But what I do know is that I am absolutely done shopping at this Macy's for the foreseeable future. read more

Went over and asked if I could get some help, and said I had never seen a Macy's so messy and in such disarray. One associate said, we have been busy due to a sale. Is that an excuse not to make sure someone is keep the store in tip top order. So the associate went and got shoes in the back for me, brought them out, and set them on the ground in front of a chair and walked away. She did NOT assist at all. I took the shoes over and set them on the counter in front of her where she was yet again yapping away. She had the nerve to ask if they worked. Horrible service. Bought a ring here in September, by November a diamond on the band was missing. Told me because I didn't pay for their protection plan and their sucky set around the diamond I would have to pay more for it. Within 2 months, a diamond should not fall out of its setting.
