We called and spoke with the staff at Halo. They were very comforting to answer any of our questions. We spoke with the owner Adam about our insurance benefits. He was helpful andvery knowledgeable about long-term care insurance. We were very surprised about how quickly they were able to start the service. I called on a Friday at 4 PM The initial assessment was set at 6:30p. And by 7 PM they had a wonderful caregiver there to cover the overnight. She helped us organize and get my grandmother comfortable into bed. I realized that as a family we were way over our head and trying to provide care ourselves. Because our caregiver made everything that we were struggling with look very easy. Overall this is a wonderful business. And the caregivers are so very caring. I would recommend them to anyone.

Our caregiver was not adequate, but I am willing to give the company (not person) another chance at a later time. My advice: 1. Interview the caregiver first prior to signing a contract. 2. Understand that person's location, miles they will drive and personal commitments they have. 3. Finalize your own assessment prior to agreeing to move forward, ask for a different option (resource wise) if you are concerned about the person you met with.

They listened to me, exhausted & crying, and then quickly got my mom into a medicare paid home health routine. Not once did I have to remind them to follow through on their promises. That was the last time my daughter saw him before he died and this is the last memory she has of this ass woman who inserted herself where she shouldn't have. She drove my mom to my daughter's grandparent's day event and acted like she was part of the family and joined in on the activities--I only found this out after the fact. They are under-staffed and lack proper training for Memory Care. The only way to know these things is by putting a camera in your loved one's room.
