    Strawberry milkshake
    Josh R.

We stopped here for ice cream one night. I ordered a strawberry milkshake, and it was pretty good. They use Blue Bell ice cream, so that automatically makes it good. FYI, this place is cash only, and they don't have an ATM onsite. There is one down the street. It kind of sucks because they don't have that posted on the door, and the only signage is when you go to pay (after they've given you the ice cream). Also, they didn't have their hours posted on the door which was a little confusing too. Overall, this is a good place to get ice cream!

So I'm on vacation in Bryson City, and my cousins INSISTED that we go to Soda Pops because it has "the best ice cream in town" and let me tell you they were not wrong. The place was soooooo cute and felt so homey. I got a chocolate dipped waffle cone with strawberry and peach ice cream, and it was delicious. I loveeeeeee strawberry ice cream, it's my absolute favorite, so I was very happy. Def coming back whenever I'm in town again.

It was hot outside and I needed something to cool me down, pronto! I was walking past Soda Pop's and saw ice cream shakes advertised as well as ice cream cones! My son and I went inside and were waited on quickly. The young man behind the counter was polite and must have seen sweat dripping off my brow because I had a huge ice cream cone ready for consumption in a second. The store was cool, the ice cream colder and the owner was friendly. My son and I definitely enjoyed this stop on our trip.

We stopped here for ice cream while in town. Such a cute little shop! They ice cream soda, hard ice cream, homemade flavored soft serve. It has a cute 50s soda shop vibe. Lots of memorabilia. I had an orange soda and it was delicious but huge! I had the small and it was two scoops of ice cream and a giant cup of orange flavored soda. The service was quick and most people were taking it to go like us but there are booths there for you to sit and enjoy. The staff are.fast, friendly and helpful. Explained all the options and were friendly. Parking is street which can be limited in the summer.

It's got that old school ice cream parlor feel

Love this place right in the heart of Bryson City, NC. It has the total old school ice cream parlor feel. They just moved about 100' from their old spot, still has the same street parking. Family owned, just like the way it used to be. Prices are average, but they serve Blue Bell ice cream so it's worth it. They have ALL the ice cream parlor favorites. You won't be disappointed.

The worst service. Wouldn't give my child a sample. Threw the scooper in the sink and spilled candy all over the floor.

Super cute retro soda fountain with a bunch of old signs and decor. We really enjoyed hanging out here, and the vanilla shakes were ok.

Cool, vintage soda fountain with everything you would expect in the 1950's. Fun. The prices are high--3 stars.

The bagels were very different from any we have had before, had a very home baked bread taste. The sweet potato bowl was very flavorful and hit just the right note for lunch. For a busy coffee house? 10 minutes from order is the norm for a place with its act together. 15 minutes? Newbie time. 25 minutes? Def ownership understaffing. 32 minutes, from order? I've been here before. Tourist. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Once upon a time? They had a good enough selection of decent pastries, in the case. Today? Sparse, like the Sahara of Sweet. A couple of very unappetizing cookies. No croissant. No cinnamon rolls. Ehhhhh. Dolce expanded their cafe menu. Likewise it, too, is slothmade and slothserved. With success comes a certain level of complacency. Even arrogance. $30, for your t-shirt? Baker, please. This has been a destination spot, for tourists. Families were enjoying the farm, kids were playing, and there were several swings overlooking the river that made for a beautiful place to sit and unwind. The farm offers a great variety of fresh produce, and the strawberry picking was a huge hit with our kids. Their favorite part was being able to snack on strawberries while picking them--an experience they won't forget! We also purchased some boiled peanuts, which were hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. But the real star of the visit was the ice cream. It was hands-down the best part of our day and so good that we're already planning to stop by again before heading back home. Friendly staff, beautiful scenery, great products, and fun for the whole family. We highly recommend Darnell's Farm to anyone visiting the area. 100% recommended!

We stopped in on the recommendation of a local shop owner while we were visiting Bryson City, and I'm so glad we did. Being from the Tampa area, we're pretty picky about Cuban sandwiches. They're a staple back home, so our expectations were high. The owner happened to be there and confidently recommended the Cuban, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. There was a short wait while it was made fresh, but it was well worth it. The sandwich was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and honestly tasted like a little piece of home. We packed it up and enjoyed it before heading out for an afternoon of tubing, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The shop itself is charming, clean, and has a welcoming atmosphere where you can sit down and enjoy your meal. We didn't try the sweets this time, but they looked delicious and give us another reason to come back. Meeting the owner made the experience even better. He was friendly, welcoming, and clearly takes pride in what he serves. Whether you're a fellow Floridian missing a great Cuban or you've never had one before, do yourself a favor and stop by High Test Deli & Sweet Shop. It's absolutely worth it. This is an easy 5-star recommendation, and we'll be back the next time we're in Bryson City.
