Was not impressed with the food there. They claim that they had kabobs but when ordered, it was was sliced meat from the spit.

Trying this place based solely on Yelp reviews, oh yeah, and my love of Turkish food. Having lived there for a few years I may be a bit of a snob when it comes to being authentic. So, arrived at 8:40pm, only the owner having dinner with what we guessed were his son and two grandsons. Ordered a wrap with beef and the full dinner with beef. Their beef is a beef lamb blend. Grabbed some cups for water, they have soda etc... but I didn't see any yogurt milk. So the food was very good, the rice was ok, not my favorite, the yogurt/cucumber sauce was spot on. All in all I would come here once a week if I lived here. Prices were very good for the quantity and quality. read more

I would have given higher except for time. I called ahead and ordered and we were told 40 min. No big deal right. Showed up and they didn't even start it at 50 min. We walked around and hung out and came back and still wasn't done at 1 hour and 20 min. At this moment it is 1 hour and 30 min and we still don't have our food. So I am not sure when it will be done. Also for a simple express place you think it would have been done sooner. There was no offer for a drink or anything for the wait of over an hour. Excellent service the people were very nice. The food was decent just lacking the Turkish flavors. I just feel they held back on the traditional spices maybe cut some corners. Let me just start off by saying that I never got to try the food, so I'm not rating the food. Secondly, I'm not sure if the fault is on Yelp, Grub Hub or the restaurant. But I'm leaving a review so you're all aware. I placed an order via the app and got confirmation the order was placed. And got charged for it. I got to the restaurant, they couldn't find the order. Because it was going to take another 40 minutes for them to process the order I left empty handed and started a dispute with Grub Hub. Called in and I was told to hang up and dial again because the agent's system was down. Called again and spent 13 minutes 31 seconds getting a refund. The restaurant told them the food was there and had been ready. I don't know who is at fault. But someone needs to work on communication. I just wasted my time running around and leaving hungry and empty-handed. After all this run around, I'm not going back. ***Follow-up: The business called back shortly thereafter and apologized for the whole fiasco. Honestly, I don't even know if it's their fault. But I thought this was a very nice gesture on their part and offered to give me a free meal next time around. Very apologetic and very sincere. I had the Chicken Doner Kebab and it was AMAZING. The owners are the sweetest people and have great customer service. The Baklava was amazing as well. I've had authentic Kebabs in Europe and although they don't use the same meat that they do in Europe (Lamb fat, they use chicken and beef in America) it is still very authentic. This place is so good. A solid, no frills presentation of a good spread of various foods with a meat and starch combination to choice. The quality and portion more than makes up for a narrow selection on the menu. My husband and I stopped in to this gem of a restaurant when visiting SLC. The meat was fantastic! He had the beef and I had the chicken. We were able to stick to our healthy eating by getting a salad as a side. Definitely would eat here again. read more

The place was pretty empty. The service was great they were very nice. Unfortunately this was not Turkish Doner Kebab. It tasted like Greek gyros, however the meat was very dry. I have been to Europe and had real Doner Kebabs and these don't come close. The ones in LA are even better than this place. I hope they do well in business but if you are a true Doner fan I wouldn't recommend this place. It's was expensive for the quality also. I was so excited when I spotted this little gem on my way home from work shortly after it opened a couple of years ago. I enjoyed my first doner while on military exercises in Germany. This place is special. I suggest you get the full combination plate with rice chicken and beef. Keep an eye on the friendly Azerbaijani owners as they prepare each dish with proud attention to detail. Almost everything is made from scratch. It's hard to decide which is better, the chicken or the beef. Don't confuse these proteins with your run of the mill Gyro. The similarities end with the spit. Most gyro meat anywhere you go is ordered from a distributor in uncooked, 10-40 pound preformed "roasts." The seasoned layers of deboned chicken thighs are cooked to juicy perfection on one spit while the special recipe house-made beef spit spins in tandem. We pass by Diner Kebab frequently and decided to give it a try based upon Yelp reviews and photographs. We were not disappointed. The owners were friendly and the menu was straight forward, simple but very good. We had the combo dinner and it was huge. Plenty to fill all of us up and even had some leftovers. We took ours to go but they do have seating for dine in. The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars is because the ambience in the restaurant was basic and simple I also don't think they sold beer which would have gone very well with dinner.It was very clean and would be great for a young family because little ones could move around.
