They graciously offer and bring you coffee/tea/water - which makes me feel special :) I've been going to JA for years but last year I tried a new place b/c of a recommendation from a friend. Long story short, it was ok until it wasn't and my long hair became short damaged hair. After visiting JA last year for my daughter's appt, I was approached by a staff member to get a blowout while I wait - great idea! but my hair was such a mess in so many ways that after explaining my hair issues, they found a spot for me the next day and fixed my mess! So happy and grateful that they were so kind... I also took my mom to that other salon, and she also had a terrible experience but it wasn't anything JA couldn't handle. Her hair was also transformed into a beautiful color - the prettiest color ever! The stylists take their time and listen - even when I have no idea what I want to do with my hair! The girls that wash your hair are phenomenal (other than the outcome, that's my favorite part!). They sell products, as well as pretty accessories - so you can shop while you wait :) My mom, daughter, and I always enjoy getting dolled up at JA. We look forward to every visit!

About a year after Jen opened her own salon I tried one of the other girls out, Malorie. Malorie is extremely talented, easy going and personable. Jen and Malorie are both excellent and flawlessly talented. Im never disappointed. Jen has a great place going and I'm so thankful to have her local! (Although when I moved to away for college I'd drive the 1.5 hours one way for my haircuts, the distance never stopped me) I know what I have going for me. My hair got so long , down to my waist. Finally, I went to Glo salon that I been following them for sometime in facebook. Beautiful work. So , I snapped 2 photos and I told Dominica what I wanted to get done. She said that the clients in both pictures is her work. Fine. I was looking at color, highlights and cut. After 4 long hours, sitting in that chair , on oxygen, this is what I got. As sick as I am when she told me $445.00 I got even sicker. Very very expensive. But, if she did good job , fine .I do this twice a year. Base Color is red, there are no highlights,, and cut is like 2 year old chopping it all off.

I had gel on my nails that needed soaking and the nail technician stated that the owner said that it will be an extra charge to remove the gel on my nails. I then consulted with the owner about it and she informed me that there will be no charge. To make a long story short, it took almost three hours for my gel manicure to be completed. The mail technician seemed nervous and not thoroughly skilled. She made a mention of learning a technique in cosmetology school. Which lead me to believe she was somewhat a novice and it showed after my nails were done. I kept asking her to redo some of my nails as it came out bumpy with air bubbles. There was another customer waiting a good while for a pedicure. I can tell she was getting impatient by a comment she made to the owner. I had to leave after hours of sitting to get my gel manicure professionally done and the end result was the worst I've ever received. In a nutshell, the place looks nice and the offering of beverages while you wait is a nice touch. However, the real reason I came to establishment proved to be a horrid experience. I will never patronize Glo again. Arrived just in time. My time in this place surpassed that. Though redone, it still came out bad. Those pictures are what the end results were. Owner, did not get to see that. Did/will not pay for this. Thank goodness for Groupon's buyer remorse. Owner, never offered any remorse. She was too busy. Additionally, the technicians's knowledge and experience is something that should be addressed accordingly before servicing a customer. Get it right.

That's the main reason this place is 4 out of 5 instead of 5 out of 5. If you're super worried about length, err on the side of caution and say you want it longer - they can always cut more off. SERVICE: I showed up a few minutes late, which was okay because I ended up having to wait 15 minutes. Eva is super sweet! I really liked talking to her. Talking to hair stylists can be a little awkward in my experience, but I felt that Eva was really easy to talk to. AMBIANCE: It's a small but cute place! Conveniently located with plenty of parking.
