After hitting all the local haunts in the Soho area for food options, I finally decided to give this healthy "fast food" place a try. I only use the term "fast food" because the food orders come out in a quick and timely manner, I say it devoid of any indication that the food isn't tasty of high quality because I very much so believe it is and like the name says, FRESH. Housed in a strip of other eateries and stores, there is parking lining the retail complex which is in close proximity to the storefront. The premise at So Fresh is that you choose a salad, a wrap, or a bowl from the menu. The menu descriptions serve as a base and then you add your protein, hormone and antibiotic free chicken and organic tofu are included in the price with hormone free beef and ahi tuna with a small up charge. Any bowl has the potential of zucchini "noodles" to be added on (I believe $1 for half or $2 for full bowl) or avocado for a nominal charge. My particular favorite here is the superfood bowl which I have gotten with both seared Ahi tuna and organic tofu, both of which are delicious. I enjoy that the restaurant keeps bottles of Sriracha for patrons and I fee or really compliments the meal. There are fountain drinks available and they sell gluten free (I think) oatmeal cookies for a sweet treat. The staff is always friendly and helpful and able to answer any question you may have and works to give you a quality product efficiently. I have never waited for more than 5-10 minutes for my meal so I would advise coming here if you want good, wholesome healthy food and are in a rush, as long as it's convenient to you. There is also another location off Fowler which is their original location. I will be sure to return again and again. I really enjoy their flavorful options and inventive creations. The interior, although not large is comfortable and has nice decor appropriate for the restaurant. I can attest that the restroom that they have was clean when I used it to wash my hands. Overall, a really great place and I look forward to my next meal from there. read more

I wanted to like it here because the menu made the items seem fresh and healthy, but it was a bit of a letdown. The quinoa in the bowls was hard and crunchy, as it if was barely cooked at all. They also forgot the cookies on our order, which was a bummer because I was looking forward to trying them since they're gluten- and dairy-free. Overall, I don't think I'll be in a hurry to return, and I definitely won't be getting the quinoa. read more

I ordered Broth Bowl with chicken to go. Even though the bowl price is 7.49 the chicken is extra 2.99. So it costs 11.38 total. It took 10 minutes to wait in the store. The food came out with only less than half a bowl (which is a big contrast to the pictures showing on its website). And it is super light weight which is less 8 ounce total. The vegetables are less than 4 ounces total and all are over steamed. The chicken broth tastes aweful too. The volume of the food makes this place a rip-off. McDonald or any other fast food restaurant will deliver much price worthy food than this one. Service is also very bad with long waiting time and cold service attitude. Do not recommend anyone to waste money at this place. read more

Cashier/front desk person had a hard time hearing anything I was saying, so I had to crane my neck around the sneeze guard shield. She seemed a bit overwhelmed with only 2 other customers in the shop. She didn't take my order correctly, left out the sweet potatoes!!! (best ingredient in the bowl IMO). The vegetables were uncooked, and the rice tasted like I was eating bullets. Great place in SOHO for a nice healthy (but large) meal! You can order and receive food relatively quickly. All while expecting the same high quality every time. Food: it goes with the name. Fresh, clean ingredients that speak for themselves. Simple, you get what you order bowls, sandwiches and wraps. The smoothies are good too. Very filling and taste is great. Personal recommendation- the bowls are my favorite, among them the superfood bowl. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. Service: you wait in line and order from a counter, it's an efficient process and they don't skimp out by not hand delivering your food, even at busy times. Ambience: casual. I came across so fresh do to a recommendation from my trainer 4 fresh food cooked well after a workout. I have to say I was really impressed with the food and quick service. My sister and I have tried the SuperFood, stir fry, BBQ and Greek bowls topped with chicken steak and salmon. We've even doubled it up and included the zoodles (zucchini noodles) for an additional $2. The smoothies are healthy they are only fruit and have no additional juices, sugar or sweetness are added. We have tried the CLASSIC, which includes strawberry banana and honey and we've tried the ISLAND that includes mango pineapple and honey. For the price you get a decent amount of food and it's healthy you can't go wrong. The only thing that sucks about this location is that parking is limited sometimes depending on the time that you go. I go when I'm in that area and want to eat clean. SoFresh is a great little healthy food eatery located along South Howard in between Platt and Swann in the SoHo section of South Tampa. The restaurant is small, and so the place fills up quickly at lunch. They have a couple of larger tables inside, which are stacked up with communal diners, and a few smaller tables to the back. Most folks were taking their orders to go, as this place seems quite popular with nearby residents and business workers. Parking is atrocious in this section of South Howard, so be prepared to circle the block while looking for a space in their tiny shared parking lot, or else bring a designated driver while you dash inside to pick up your to-go order. So Fresh has a lot of customizable bowls, salads, and wraps, along with their homemade soups and smoothies. This style of healthy eating has become popular lately, and though it can be pricey, it's certainly a tasty and filling lunch. The menu is displayed on big flat-screen TVs over the front counter, with constantly-scrolling pictures of the bowls, add-ons, and a list of ingredients. They also have printed menus for those who don't with to stand there and go "uhhhhhhhhhhh" while holding up the line. The basic bowls and salads start at $10, but you can add-on various protein toppers, or egg and avocado for an upcharge. Wraps start at $8. I ordered the Greek bowl, which was made with brown rice, onions, diced tomatoes, spinach, feta cheese, cucumbers, and house-made tzatziki sauce. I topped that off with seared Ahi tuna for a $3 up-charge. If you want to eat super healthy, they you can top your bowl with tofu or Zoodles (zucchini noodles). While waiting for them to prepare my Greek bowl, I also ordered their homemade chicken veggie soup ($4), which was a fantastic blend of veggies and slices of chicken breast simmering in a very tasty broth. Unlike a lot of soups, this one was not overcooked, and the vegetables still had a lot of 'bite'. I thought that my meal was delicious, though it's a bit pricey to eat here every day. So fresh is so very good! And yes, it is made fresh. You choose a wrap, bowl or salad and can customize to your liking by adding proteins like salmon, chicken, steak, shrimp. You can add zoodles, very tasty and I recommend you add these. Zoodles are zucchini cut into thin spaghetti like shapes and they come deliciously marinated. They also have tofu as an add on. Very friendly staff. I went with the Superfood bowl and added on zoodles and salmon. This comes with quinoa and brown rice with tomatoes, broccoli, walnuts and avocado. They include a homemade balsamic vinaigrette. They also have smoothies and soups. The salad with the added protein is a main meal and very satisfying. The bowls are pretty large and I definitely had left overs. It's pretty small with only a few tables, but I was getting mine to go anyway. Each has different styles/flavors with customizable options. Mediterranean, Mexican, Sweet chili poke, BBQ, etc. You also have different choices for proteins- chicken, tofu, zoodles (not sure if I'd classify this as a protein), and a few premium options for an up charge- ahi, steak, shrimp, salmon. There are also a couple of add on options like an egg or avocado. I got the Poke bowl with ahi and my date got the same with tofu. It's nice that you can take one flavor and customize it to dietary preferences. The ratio of veggies to rice to protein was on par and the ahi was every bit worth the extra $3. The sweet chili sauce was good and complimented the flavors well. The cost of the bowl was good value for the amount and quality of the food provided. The location is small and I've see others commenting on the bad parking situation. We didn't have any trouble getting a parking spot or a table, but I could see how this place would fill up fast. So naturally a new food option opens within walking distance and we must check it out. We ordered 2 salads - the Endless Summer and Granny Gorgonzola and added chicken to both. Salads were small in portions for price but made with healthy and fresh ingredients. We also ordered the Steak Dijon wrap which looked more like a spinach wrap minus the steak with extra Greek yogurt and Dijon. It was a definite miss from description and menu picture. Whenever I'm in the mood for something quick and healthy after the gym, this is my go-to place! It's the perfect way to eat something healthy and get all the things you want and there's a wide selection of pre-made concoctions to choose from. They're super quick and the staff members are happy to answer any questions you might have. My personal favorites are the Power bowl with chicken and the Skinny bowl with Salmon. The superfood bowl is the perfect combination of savory and sweet ingredients such as goat cheese and craisins all melded together with crunchy kale slaw, and fluffy brown rice. I love the kale-basil pesto that comes with it because it's so refreshing and light enough to really bring all the flavors together. As for the Skinny Bowl, it's the best to get for a "treat yoself" dinner with some wine. The salmon is perfectly cooked and is a great with the freshly made chunky tomato sauce all over zoodles. You'll be paying about $10-$15 depending on your bowl and protein choice but it's well worth it for how healthy and flavorful it is. read more

Was looking for a quick, healthy dinner with my boyfriend, found this place on line, and we decided to give it a try. It ended up being a cute little shop that was good but not necessarily memorable. I see this place as pretty much in direct competition with Fresh Kitchen, and while it has some advantages, I don't think I prefer it. SoFresh is in a strip mall which means there should be plenty of parking, unless you try to go there on a Friday/weekend evening. Then, the SoHo bar scene will take up most of the parking spaces. The restaurant itself is cute, pretty simply decorated with just a few tables. It's an order at the counter restaurant, and the counter is almost completely overtaken by a large TV that acts as the menu (but does a pretty bad job of it). Ordering was pretty simple, I chose a pre-designed salad from their menu with some chicken, along with a bowl of soup. My boyfriend got a rice bowl. The only problem was that I had felt pretty limited by the salad options, and didn't realize they even had a "Make your own" option until I had already received my salad. They have small handheld menus which are sort of unorganized, and the giant TV menu just slowly rotates through various options. Overall, it was pretty annoying to figure out what I wanted to order. Once we had ordered, and sat down, it was a pretty noticeable wait for our food. Not long, maybe 5-10 minutes, but considering I would compare this place to Fresh Kitchen or Panera, where you usually get your food within a minute of ordering, it was definitely noticeable. On the other hand, the food was really good. My salad was well made, and all the flavors went together, which is this place's biggest advantage over Fresh Kitchen (where most of the offerings are tasty but don't really mesh well into a single plate). The salad was also rather large, which is awesome because so often salads are puny. The soup was similarly tasty, and my boyfriend's bowl, while smaller than my salad, was similarly good. To finish the meal off, my boyfriend also picked up a cookie, which was probably the most disappointing part of the meal. It was pretty flavorless. I wouldn't try it again. The price was pretty good. On par with similar local, smaller-scale restaurants but since you get such a big salad it's probably a better deal. Overall, I liked this place, and I'll probably give it a few more tries whenever I'm in the area looking for a quick dinner, but I don't know. It just doesn't seem to have that cultural magnetism that Fresh Kitchen has created. But I hope they can figure out how to achieve that. read more

We get SoFresh atleast once a week. I think it's my favorite of all the health food restaurants in Tampa. I like to build my own bowl, always choose the zucchini noodles as one of my base options, I just love them so much!
