I first tried SoFresh from a lunch conference at work. I didn't even know this place existed. It's a bit on the pricey side but it's well worth it. My favorite to get is the Small Design Your Own Warm Bowl where I choose the ingredients. I usually get red quinoa, broccoli and black beans with the citrus dressing or avocado dressing and I add protein for an additional $4.19. I also decided to try their Kale and Apple smooth, and it was so amazing and not very sweet. After my meal I felt satisfied and happy of my choices. read more

This place separates itself from similar businesses by making its food fresh. It's "something" about hearing your food sizzle on the grill while you wait. I didn't like the indoor or outdoor sitting areas. However, it is a spacious place. I think I'll come back to this place again. It's hard to say how to rank them from just one meal. I decided to try SoFresh for a healthier dinner option while staying in Downtown Tampa. It's a casual dining spot with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You order on a screen at the front of the store and have wraps, bowls, salads to choose from. I opted for the power bowl with tofu. It was really good! Who ever this is at front desk super rude! We came in 2 adult with 2 small children. My husband went to sit down so I can wait for the iPad to be open up and place an order. First thing she yells no public bathroom. You can't just sit here doing nothing! excuse me. I have kids we are ordering food. None of the iPad are available because people are infront of us. She I tell her I'm waiting for an iPad she yells again crap saying I'm just telling you ! I love SoFresh but the one in Brooksville because they are always friendly and always wanting to help. Work has brought me to Tampa for a few days, and since I flew in a little early, I was able to grab some lunch before the week's events rolled out! SoFresh is like any downtown "healthy" food cafe. Meant for the locals and downtown corporate crowd I'm assuming. They have a standard selection of salads, sandwiches/wraps, bowls, smoothies, and desserts (pre-packaged cookies and brownies). It's nice that everything starts off vegan or vegetarian, and as you add proteins and toppings, you can make it as non-veg as you want, LOL! It is very inclusive! My only gripe was the wait time. I personally don't think a salad should take 15 minutes to make, especially since they weren't particularly busy around 2pm, but at least it was a packed bowl. I thought I was able to sub out the balsamic for BBQ, but they gave me both anyway. The chocolate chip cookie that I added onto the order was a pre-packaged chocolate chip cookie. It wasn't anything special, but my sweet tooth was appeased after hitting my "health" quota with the salad. read more

I used to go to The so fresh in South Tampa all the time and never had a problem . Every time I go to the one downtown now the portions are not what they used to be. Seems like they are shrinking portions and increasing price. Quality of the food is good, but they've cut down so much on portions and increase the price. It doesn't make sense. I can go to fresh kitchen and pay 1/3 of the price and be full. It's ridiculous to pay $17 for a salad or bowl and still be hungry. Even when I added on extra of one item, it didn't even look like they added anything extra compared to not doing that. Everything else is good. This place makes good food, the problem is that they don't make your order, they just make whatever they want. I have ordered here 5 times and I have ordered the same wrap every time. Except, I have never received the same thing. Things are always missing, added, or randomly on the side. I've never really complained or asked for a replacement because it's frustrating but not really the end of the world. However, on this most recent occasion, of the 7 things I put on my wrap, I received 2, chicken and lettuce. No corn, carrots, rice, onion, or avocado. This time I called because it's happened time and time again. When I called, I nicely explained the issue and then they hung up on me. I called again and they hung up on me again. I stopped by here after the free evening yoga class for a healthy dinner. It was walking distance and the perfect place to eat out and still feel great. I ordered the Rise & Shine. It was a nice, fresh salad that didn't bore me. I especially liked the quinoa, sweet potatos, and bacon along with a side of mashed avocado. For protein, the bowl comes with 2 poached eggs. I added chicken for $2 and they seasoned it well and it came out tender. The rice had an off flavor (like cooking oil which had gone bad) and since rice is 80% of the dish (they don't look at all like the photo, mine had 2 pc of broccoli, about 3 teaspoons of tiny diced sweet potato, 3 giant chunks of steak--which were delicious--all on a thick blended bed of rice, quinoa and what I assume is cauliflower although it was so tiny it was hard to tell). So I basically paid $25 for 3 chunks of beef and 2 pc of broccoli, as the rest was inedible. I think the green sauce is either pesto or chimichurri , can't tell because it just tasted like oil with no flavor. This is great little spot downtown to have lunch. It's pretty busy and there was a line to order. The concept is about creating your own combination by picking your toppings on sandwiches or freshly made salads. I have to say their Chicken is advertised as natural non Gmo and it is great. I had the Meddirainean Salad that comes with a small chickpea mixture on the side. The greens were fresh and the dressing was flavorful, not oily. When I got back to the office, I noticed that there was maybe a teaspoon of black beans and five sweet potato pieces of my mix-ins. Still SoFresh's biggest fan. This time I came when I couldn't eat soy/dairy/nuts/eggs so I was rather limited about where to go. Luckily, SoFresh marks on the menu their vegan options so I knew I didn't have to worry about the eggs and dairy so I just asked about soy. Their Superfood bowl is soy free so I got that! I added the chicken since I'm not vegan. It came out piping hot - like burn your tongue hot. I actually did burn my tongue because I was chowing down so fast. I commented I need to learn how they make the quinoa taste so good! The whole bowl was a perfect blend of flavors. Heck, I need to learn how to make broccoli taste so good too. This is a meal that I feel like I should be able to make at home because it is whole ingredients, but I would never be able to make it taste so good. The employee at the cash register was cheery and friendly. They hire good people here. I was surprised that at noon on a Friday this place wasn't packed with people. Here comes the rant... why are all these places removing a human from the process yet they still expect a tip? My friend and I dined in at So Fresh. We were excited to dine here! When we came in to the store we needed to order at a kiosk. The kiosk had all the dining options and featured pictures of the bowls and wraps with protein and showed the price of the item. When you clicked on the picture Then all of sudden you had the option of adding protein for an extra cost. There pictures are false advertising. Also, there is no interaction with staff and everything is done on a kiosk. The. You are asked to leave a gratuity. No one interacted with me etc. I think the healthy concept is great! The prices are not cheap, it feels very antiseptic and not a friendly place, and I do not like the bait and switch regarding the protein that is show. photos on the kiosk without stating it is extra. I wanted to get a quick dinner between work and seeing a show at the Tampa Theatre so I stopped in here. I had read good things about it on Yelp so I figured I would give it a shot. Their menu is very simple, similar to other quick service places in the area where you choose a base and then add your protein and other options. They have various kinds of bowls, wraps and salads. I was torn between the Greek bowl and a Boca Fiest wrap. I went with the Greek bowl because I wanted feta. I also went with chicken as my protein. The Greek bowl comes with one container of tzatziki sauce and I wish I would have had a second because it was so good. The bowl was very filling. Next time I will probably try the wrap. I also ordered a tea. They have a variety of "gourmet" sodas that I want to try next time. Parking is not great in this area so I can't see coming here for breakfast or lunch unless you work downtown but they are open for dinner. read more
