excellent experience, all-around! after enduring a…read morelunchtime wasted at a nearby restaurant (mama's place), I made sure to not to follow one folly after another, and checked yelp for a spot to get dessert. I left lunch hungry and with little time to spare before tarpon springs closed its businesses for the night. there were several bakeries on the area's main drag, which were (literally) lined up out the door. while the goods inside looked tasty from the outside, lunch now had me all the wiser. a long line and an appealing window display offered no insight on the taste of the goods inside. I found national bakery nestled on a little side road. there was no line, no frills. when you step inside, though, you'll be greeted by a baker who has been serving fantastic baked goods with superior customer service at incredibly fair prices -for decades. the woman who helped us was SO incredibly friendly. she stayed open late just to answer our questions about the area -after having already served us some of the most delicious baked goods I've ever had. I'd recommend going for the goodies, the friendly conversation, and old world atmosphere. skip the lines and overpriced, overhyped "show" goods.... spend your money and time on food you won't forget.

I really liked Parthenon! I swear it was one of my best meals all week since I haven't been feeling…read morewell. We ordered a few appetizers including saganaki, calamari, and broiled octopus. Of course the saganaki and Octopus was the best. We also ordered gyros, pork souvlaki, and a fried cod fish sandwich. My order was the pork souvlaki! It was really good. The tzatiki sauce stood out as different than I have had at other places. Our service was impeccable. Our server was very cheerful. The owner was cheerfully inviting people in for lunch or dinner! He was really nice and funny too. We can't help but be happy that this restaurant is dog friendly, and nicely shaded! This is a fun Greek Choice on the Sponge Docks right next to the Sponge Exchange and across the street from the Sponge boats on the water.

Big murals and fake brassy gold items. Our server was ok, seemed a little put off to be working, but no outright issues. The restaurant seemed to fill up more the longer we dined and kept the servers busier. Food was good, portion sizing being the pro here. Meat in my gyro was plentiful. Taste was good too. Other ordered flatbreads and again they filled a whole large plate. Cant say they were the best ingredients, but filled us up. Overall ok experience. Maybe for a more authentic meal try somewhere nearby.
