I've been to several SoHa Living locations in Waikiki, Ko Olina, and now Kapolei and I can honestly say they're consistently beautiful! The decor and presentation always stand out. Everything is styled so well, it honestly makes me want to live in a beach house. They have the cutest kitchen tools and home decor. I'm especially obsessed with their aprons, the prints and Hawaiian designs are just my style. I usually stop by just to window shop and see what's new, but so far... I just want to share this store remained open when the wet & rainy weather occurred a couple weeks ago. Majority of stores were closed because the electricity & power went out. But NO! Not this store, they kept their employees there to work in darkness & no power, no AC & having to use their phones to ring up customers. If the owners of this store care about their staff they would treat them better. And if you have them work in these conditions compensate them accordingly! What a huge disappointment! I'm an interior designer specializing in luxury design & renovation for 30 years & all of my business is by client referral. I've purchased from SoHa for many years at all Oahu locations & have received a designer discount, however, all of that changed. I was recently in the Kapolei store & tried to purchase a book & was denied my normal trade discount. In fact, they claim they have no record of me in their system! What? How can this be...given the fact I've spent close to $40k with SoHa over the years?! The manager discussed this with the District Manager who had no interest in resolving the issue & said for me to just send an email & explain myself. I had already done this multiple times with Jay the manager of the Kapolei store..And now they want me to do it all over again? In other words I do all the work for you that you should be doing yourself to help a valued design customer?! No, I'm not doing it. I've known the sisters (owners) since their Kakaako store, but I guess that doesn't count anymore. It seems SoHa Living does not care, nor honor, those of us who have spent a significant amount of time & money in their stores when purchasing for both residential & commercial projects & have been loyal customers. LOVE this store. This is my go-to store for gifts for out of town guests. Especially those who are from Hawaii, and come back to visit. They relish and appreciate the many treasures you will find here. They have a children's section for gifts for the keiki. From Hawaii made bibs, and craft aprons... to a wide selection of island-inspired toys and local illustrated/authored books. Homewares include room fragrances (maile, pikake, pua melia, etc), fridge magnets, ceramic dishes (monsterra, hibiscus, honu, etc), coasters, pillows, dish towels and so much more. There's also a nice selection of locally crafted jewelry (neclaces, anklets, earrings, etc) and women's perfume. They have a large selection of loose shells to purchase too. I will often buy either a wooden or ceramic dish, add some sand and a variety of shells. Given this as a gift to friends and loved ones... and they LOVE it!! I'll include a beach postcard with one of those 1- serving shots and tell them to 'stick your toes in the sand, watch the sunset and have one on me!'. Such a cute little shop I love so many little things there like sea shells, frames, kitchen items, bags, etc. great spot to pick up gift items for local or your mainland friends with a touch of aloha. I picked up something for mine today I love honu and the have a whole lot of honu items. Kitchen towels, throw pillows, cups, wood carving, plates, wooooweee! Don't go in if you don't wanna shop! I love love love this store. It's a must to stop in and checkout the super awesome modern take on hawaiian home decor. each time I stop in, there's always something new. Now that I live in HI and don't have to worry about having enough room in my luggage to take everything to the mainland. I like the idea if there are wall hangings that doesn't match your home's color scheme, they can customize one for you. And if you live mainland, they can mail it to you. Of course, it has me wanting more! Love all the lighter and brighter beach themes with mixes of dark wood. Cost? Everything is reasonably priced. I was so happy when they made another SOHA location in Kapolei! This is my absolute favorite home decor store in Hawaii. Everything is light-colored and so beachy. This location is smaller than the ones in Kahala or Haleiwa but I think the customer service is the very best here. Always welcoming and helpful. Thank you to the awesome girls who work at SoHa Living in Kapolei. They are amazing. They have helped me find small beautiful shells for a special project that I have been creating for the past three years. My mom passed away three years ago in San Antonio. She lived here on Oahu for majority of her life and just loved the beach. Her wish was to be scattered here at the beach. Unfortunately we have not been able to grant her wish so...... For the past three years I have been sending my loved ones who live in San Antonio trinkets from our beach as a Christmas gift (in Chinese good luck envelopes with money) from me to them and in return they have been helping me to create a beach for my mom. After opening the the red good luck envelopes all of the trinkets go into a koa bowl with lots of love. For this years Christmas gift I wanted to send beautiful baby shells. Unfortunately it's really hard to find intact baby shells on our beaches. Might even be impossible to find a baby starfish. This is where the awesome girls at SoHa Living in Kapolei comes in. They have been helping me to collect baby size unique shells like the baby sugar starfish for my Christmas gifts to my family. SoHa Living In Kapolei is so different from most specialty stores...,mainly because the girls who work there are so caring and believe in the special products they sell. You can tell that the owner really takes his or her time when purchasing items that is believed to enhance your lifestyle in a positive way. Perhaps one of my favorite shops here in Oahu with locations in Kailua and Kahala Mall. This shop is located at the brand new Ka Makana Ali'i mall in Kapolei. The store is not as cramped as the Kailua location and has more than ample moving space in the aisle. Wanted to purchase a car coaster for $4.80. Clerk rang me up for $5.80. When I asked about it, she told me that in the system, it rings up as $5.80. I asked if she can sell it to me for the price on the price tag. She said no because it'll look like she's stealing. She told me she's not a manager and can't change the price. She asked me, "Do you want it, or not" Seriously?! Can I afford $1.00? Sure. But I didn't make the purchase because it's the principal of it. Hey Soha, you can't charge people more than the price on the price tag. Seems like common sense to me. Gorgeous store with something for everyone. I really liked the vibe and decor, and the employees were really nice. One helped me figure out how to do a complicated looking wrap, like the display, for a scarf that they sold. VERY cute store! Whenever I'm at the mall, I go in just to walk around and ALWAYS end up leaving buying several things :/ Really beachy and cute things to decorate any room of your house. However, I bought a frame and a few other things on November 18, 2016--and they didn't have the whale spoon holder that I wanted, but it was at their Kahala location. MINA D. offered to have one sent over so I wouldn't have to drive to town, which I really appreciated; she said it would most likely arrive the next week and would call me as soon as it came. I have YET to hear anything from them! I ended up just driving to Kahala to get it. I guess my whale spoon holder wasn't worth the trouble for the amount of money it cost. Thanks, Mina! Awesome small shop with great customer service. It has a ton of local themed decor. It is a cozy store that has beach items to decorate your house.
