I just had two big fillings done on June 2 by the team and it went great. Iris helped me with the insurance and billing. There was a small dispute on one of the claims and she addressed it carefully. She does her best to explain the concepts in clear terms and she even taught me how to appeal discrepancies. I know insurance is real tough to manage so I'm grateful she works hard for her patients. Rosa did an great job assisting the doctor with the fillings. She communicates well and she's always focused. Going into the fillings, I was a little nervous. For the big filling, the old one had to be removed. Dr. Diep is just too good. He really put me at ease. The doctor knows what he's doing. It's like trusting Green Arrow or Hawkeye to make the shot. Or trusting that the Hulk can lift that SUV off the ground. I feel like he has become one with the drill. He got the filling out. Saw additional decay and a crack. Took the time to take photos for me. Took extra minutes to make sure my bite was aligned. And even showed me everything after we finished. SoHay Dental is one of my first dental experiences outside of school and my parents insurance. The staff were extremely patient with a lot of my questions, as I haven't gotten a cleaning for a while due to Covid. Before and after my cleanings and other procedures, the dentist, Dr. Diep, always made sure to answer any of my questions with phrases that was easily understood by someone who doesn't know much about dental hygiene. I brought up a previous upsetting experience at one of my old dentists, and Dr. Diep showed empathy towards my past experiences, ensuring my present (and continuing) dental visits were smooth and actually enjoyable. The dental assistant, Irene, was also helpful and kind as she took my x-rays with ease. I know I have a small mouth and so even though it was difficult for me to bite down on the x-ray bite-thing, she was incredibly patient and understanding even though I took many tries. Overall, I think I found a dental office I will be very happily returning to for my bi-monthly cleanings and other procedures as I get older and start losing my teeth. Fairly new and modern dentist space, I found this place to be in an awesome location for me. I'm just a 10 min walk away to great service. The unfortunate part is the parking, it's difficult since it doesnt have a dedicated parking lot. You can find street parking or a few in the back but Paris baguette takes a majority of what is left. I was a new patient, I registered my appointment and all the new patient information online. It took about 10-15 minutes to fill in the information. It's nice to get that done prior to coming in. Because I filled that information before the appointment, I was able to get into my appointment without waiting. I was greeted by his assistant who did the xray scan of my teeth. Then I met Dr. Diep who did a great job of assessing my teeth and gums. He did not have an assistant to help suction my mouth during the teeth cleaning. He took about 20-30 mins to scrape, clean and floss my teeth. Lastly, he added a fluoride protector to the teeth. Overall, so happy that I have a dental office close by. They provided great service. From the start of the booking to the end of my appointment, I enjoyed my first visit to SoHay Dental. It's great to have a new Dental Office in the Hayward area and I decided on this office after visiting shops nearby. The administrative work for my appointment booking was a breeze and being able to complete my initial patient forms online was convenient. I arrived for my morning appointment just a few minutes late but was immediately helped by the assistant (Irene?), upon entering the office. I handed over my ID to verify my appointment details. I had to wait for a couple minutes until I was ushered into the room for my appointment. The assistant worked with me first to take the X-Rays of my teeth. It seemed like it was an extensive and longer process as a hand-held scanner was used to capture the different areas of my teeth/jaw. The X-Rays took a couple of minutes to complete and then it was time for the Dr. to come in. Dr. Diep came in to work on my teeth for my general cleaning. Once he stepped into the room, he started off with initial introductions and we had a little getting to know you conversation. I appreciated this as it made me more comfortable during the appointment. The usual cleaning procedures were performed on my teeth. The assistant stepped in for a bit to help take notes for Dr. Diep. I felt like my teeth was handled with care during the cleaning. My appointment went smoothly. In the end, I was also able to share my questions about general dental care and possible improvements that could be made. Dr. Diep provided me with in-depth answers that allowed me to reach the clarity I needed about my teeth. Before leaving the office, I was helped with scheduling my visit. Going to a new dental practice is a bit worrisome because one does not know how well and professional the Doctors are. However, in my case, all my worries and concerns were taken care of. Dr. Diep is a great dentist. Right away he and his staff made me feel welcomed and comfortable, with an assurance that my dental needs will be taken care of. He has gentle hands, as one would want for a dentist, specially when sharp objects are being used in your mouth. I really appreciate how attentive and informative he was during my examination. He also gave excellent dental hygiene advice and suggestions, specific to my needs. I'm very happy I found this place and took a chance being that it is a brand new practice.
