Do yourself a favor and find another dentist. Went there in 2020 for crown placement. Paid extra out of pocket for a better quality crown, Porcelain to be exact. Now after only 3 years, I have pain and was told the crown wasn't placed correctly so there is a gap which has led to cavity. Need to have it replaced and insurance doesn't cover it since it hasn't been 5 years. Such a mistake I trusted her with my teeth. I regret it badly. read more

I decided to change dentists since i wasn't satisfied or felt taken care of from my previous dentist. I'm SUPER glad ultra dental care was taking new patients. I made thee best decision since the first day i went there they make you feel welcomed. The dentist was very polite and would tell me what she was doing while working on my teeth. I had some x rays done by the lovely dentist assistant and had my teeth cleaned up. I had to come back for some cavities i had and when i did she was amazing with keeping informed of what she was doing while working it. I also have some issues with my bottom teeth being crooked so i paid $50 to get my moldings done and sent to the lab. I'm super excited to see how my teeth turn out! Thank you to those that left their comments previously. I am so grateful to have followed through trusting your feedback and booked with Ultra Dental Care. I had some trauma to my front bottom tooth and lost it. My job consists of presenting trainings, so having a front tooth STAT was paramount! Long story short, I called the office right before closing. I unknowingly was talking to doctor venting of my embarrassment and how it would affect my livelihood. Not to mention the migraine it was causing me to hide this space as I tried to talk...it was horrible! The doctor did not disclose her identity, patiently listened to me, and booked me the next business day. The front end practice coordinator Rochelle followed up and made sure I was good to go with insurance. I came in, was seen on time, molds done all within my lunch hour. I am happy to report that my placer came in a timely manner and matched all my other teeth! The lab in which they work with did a phenomenal job as the piece looks so natural. On another note, the doctor and staff are extremely personable, professional, and extremely caring. I felt at ease in her care and trusted her right away. Do Not go to this dental facility! I had an appointment to have a deep cleaning, but before I could get to my appointment, my jaw started hurting. Initially they told me I had a cavity and one of my old filling would have to be redone. So l called to make an appointment, since they had my X-rays and history on file. I explained to them that my jaw hurt really bad and I was hoping to come in so they could X-ray again and see why I was having problems on my upper Jaw. They said if that they don't treat the jaw. Wow!!!! i called 3 times to see the dentist. Aren't your teeth connected to your jaw. I eventually went to two other dentists who said, that in fact it was an upper molar that needed a root canal or to be removed. I'm not happy, because I was in so much pain, I could barely open my mouth to eat. How do you go about finding a good dentist???? read more

I started going here years ago after my previous dentist told me I was going to need another crown, and it didn't feel right. I went and saw Dr. Vasavi instead, and she told me I just needed to floss better. 100% right and for the 1st time, felt I could really trust my dentist after years of painful dental work. The cleanings are seriously the best. I always feel really great after a cleaning. I was just in there today, getting some old silver fillings replaced, she polished off some stains, and they feel fantastic. Found this dentist office by reading reviews here on yelp and I'm so glad I did. This place is is in downtown Hayward and so it is a plus since we live so close that I just walk to my appointments. The staff is great, from the receptionist Rochelle, to the dental assistant Katy and to the caring and professionalism of Dr. Vasavi. The office is clean and Dr. Vasavi and Katy are very efficient as a duo. I have never really had any dentists of mine in the past do their own cleaning since they leave it up to they hygienest. It is wonderful how Dr. Vasavi cleans your teeth really thorough and at the same time she is able to check your teeth and also explain thoroughly to you everything that needs to be done. You can see the X-rays right away as it is being done. I would definitely recommend this dental office to anyone who wants a helpful and friendly staff and do exceptional work. read more

I've been going to Ultra for several years now and the reason I stay is Dr. Vasavi Garlapati. She is highly skilled and so sensitive to the patient's needs. Going to the dentist is never an activity one looks forward to, but she makes sure you are comfortable and that you are free to communicate with her if you do not feel comfortable. My husband and I have been going to Ultra Dental for years & are very happy with their staff and dental services. They've gone through several dentists over the years. We miss our original dentist, Dr. Cotas (she opened a dental office closer to her home in Brentwood) but we love the current dentist, Dr. Vasavi. She has a gentle touch and is truly caring. She always makes sure you're comfortable and painfree. My husband is a big baby, doesn't want to feel any pain at all - ever, and they always make sure he doesn't go running out the door. Lol Rochelle is the awesome medical asst. at the front desk that books appointments & works out all the billing and insurance stuff. She's always smiling and pleasant and truly helpful with your schedule and insurance questions. Katy, the dental assistant, smiles with her eyes (she usually has her mask on) and always makes sure you're comfortable and taken care of. Chris, the hygienist, makes sure my husband feels NO PAIN when he needs shots (see above "big baby" reference) and does a thorough job cleaning his teeth. I used go to the dentist every, hmmmm, maybe three years. I have a VERY low threshold for pain. Seriously, strong breezes really hurt my delicate skin. So, a drill and a long crooked scrapy thing on my gums and teeth... No Way! I'm not crazy. When my three year deadline came up I went to Ultra Dental and Dr.Cotas. She is really sweet and gentle. I had a couple of cavities..I know, shocking! When they did the fillings they gave me a movie to watch in this crazy virtual reality looking eye thingy and that kept my mind off of the shrieking drill. I had a bad experience or maybe a bad day, but the staff and dentist here are very compassionate. The Dr went out of her way to accommodate my needs and made sure I was comfortable with everything. Very personal and open to hearing what you have to say even if running behind. Huge plus small hands!! And accurate hands if I do add not one time did she repeat her moves always one move for everything. They send great updates to make sure someone like me who forgets a lot doesn't forget about his appointment via text, email and courtesy calls. Because of miscommunication from front and back of this dental office I literally threw away $75. Money isn't the issue. I just bought a home nearby, and i'm looking for a local dentist. I thought I'd start my full set of xrays and they'd tell me what I needed to do, set appointments, and move forward. Nope, that would make too much sense. They brought me in for an emergency I didn't need, and then said I was fine. I could've gave myself $75 and wrote a note to self. Dear self, don't go to ultra dental on b street and throw away money. Save money and go to a different place. I guess it was all the trying to explain, I'm just looking for a dentist that frustrates me. They literally didn't get it. They told me to go back to my old dentist and get the files sent to them. I said, let's start new and I'd pay going forward. I even gave an olive branch, and said let's just do a full xray and I'll pay whatever the cost to get this started. Their answer was, that's not what your appointment is for, not flexible and not busy. They could've said sure, we'll have to arrange things or I may have to wait. Nope, they were stuck on the misunderstanding. As a business how is it the customer is the one trying to figure out solutions to be helpful. The staff here is super friendly and they make you feel like family. Dr. Alvin cleans my teeth well and also filled a cavity once. No problems at all and he is very gentle. Also, I must note that the last time I did x-rays, the person who did them was SUPER GENTLE as well. I have a small mouth, so the x-ray slides usually poke and hurt my gums. She bent them into just the right shape and they didn't hurt at all. She's a keeper! read more

I decided to find one here in Hayward as its close to home. I ended up finding Dr. Vasavi and oh man oh man im so happy I did. I've been coming here since 2003, back when they had different owners, but even with the transition to the new dentist and owner, everything has been great. The place is always clean, easy to find and the staff is awesome! When I walk through the doors I'm greeted by name and a welcoming smile from the office manager. I've been under Dr. Vasavi's care for about 2 years now and I'm so glad I found her! She is the most caring dentist I've ever had! Sweet, professional, and just a very very good dentist. She makes you feel very comfortable, her cleaning is very smooth (I barely get bothered by the noises and lights while she is doing the cleaning. I probably can even fall asleep in the chair! Lol), and she puts Vaseline in your lips before starting to protect from drying, which is a small gesture that I really appreciate. And her staff is amazing! They set you appointments in advance, then call and txt you appt reminders too. Oh, and they are super punctual! I think the most I ever waited was 5 min. There are in a convenient location with lots of parking and right next to the BART Station. The best part is, they have appts on Saturday too!!
