Dr John and the entire staff at Soho Smile are amazing! I love coming to this dentist- everyone is so warm and friendly. The space is stylish, clean, and beautiful and it's truly relaxing. You can watch movies and relax while your teeth get cleaned. I did try another place that was closer to me but the service wasn't the same and I was pressured to buy Invisalign. It definitely made me come running back to Dr John and his beautiful wife Maria and it was wonderful to see Valerie again! She remembered a lot of details from my last visit and is just a really nice person. Dr John made a night guard for me (because I grind my teeth ) that's lasted for years. They don't pressure and guilt me about fluoride treatments. I trust them. I was told I had a cavity at another dentist and I think they were just trying to drill. I've never had that experience here- it's so important to find a dentist that you trust and I've found that with Dr John. Everyone at Soho a Smile is helpful and caring and I've brought my husband there and will bring my daughter next time! It's a great location with the highest level of service. Dr John is the BEST! he just is. He rescued my teeth, did massive amount of work and helped me restore my gums and crown back to health, Over the last 5 years of going to Soho Smile, I invested in fixing my pervious (very bad) work - I had 5 crowd that needed to be redone, a few cavities and a dental implant - Dr John did everything - PERFECTLY! what's unique about Dr John is the amazing knowledge, honestly and attention to detail - he's done many celebrity teeth and really, truly loves what he does when you come in the entire staff is happy and positive and you never feel scared of the dentist- you develop a trust with the office and they truly take care of you - issue big and small they restored my husbands teeth with beautiful veneers they did my sisters veneers as well they restored many crowns for my mom and step father they do incredible work - truly another unique thing is the office itself; super comfortable you can watch movies as you get your teeth done (and yes, you can pick the movie!!! they have a full library) that is how much they care about your comfort shots? what shots? Nice place.. Cute staff(specially the billing Lady) but very expensive. My consultation was covered under my insurance but the treatment needed was to be paid out of pocket! Never heard from them after trying to get a better price for 4 veneers each priced at 3000$ there. I'm not saying he does a bad job but I did not feel the personal caring touch that other places give when dealing with dental work. Who we all know can be a little frustrating when trying to find a well seasoned, professional, and caring dentist. I found another dentist of the same caliber with the same dental cosmetic background and associations. 2300$ for each veneer with great reviews. So if you are going the SS be ready to pay BIG $$$$. You will love going to the dentist!!! First of all, I am Russian (born there and lived there till I was 8) what this means is that I am eternally scared and scared of the dentist. Lest just say mother Russia did not have the best or nicest dental techniques. Anyway- fast forward to my 20's and 30's where my dentist visits were costly, exhausting, misleading and yes painful. I do not have perfect teeth, so by the time I met Dr. John I needed 4 crowns (Its a bit odd sharing my dental health records on a public forum, but I think its important because it is very difficult to find a great dentist and if you do- you must share- they are rare). So, okay, 4 crowns, also needed several fillings and a root canals (he has a specialist in the office for that). I had gotten a bad root canal and a bad bridge from another dentist. I met Dr John because i was working with a model who had perfect teeth, when I asked her about them she mentioned that Dr John did her veneers. So I went to their office. WOW! First of all this is unlike any dental office you have ever seen- its amazing, beautiful, clean, comfortable (it doesn't even have that dental smell we all hate- and get this- he has such great equipment there are very limited drill sounds). Maria, Dr. Johns wife is amazing, she helps run the office and honestly she just a wonderful person, she makes you feel comfortable, and like her husband she truly cares. The rest of the staff is super professional, and give you a dental goodie bag when you leave. Long story short- its been 4 years going to Dr. John. Read the list: He has saved two of my teeth Done 5 crowns that look and feel amazing Did my husbands veneers My sisters veneers Several cavities (NO YOU WILL NOT FEEL THE SHOTS) Treated my father in laws teeth My moms crowns And my 4 year old niece just had her first visit with him Treated10 cavities for one of my employees Know this- (and I learned this the hard way) - you'll pay a little (little) bit more maybe then you would from some hall in the wall dentist- but you wont pay the price later. Loved it here! When I moved to Manhattan from Rockaway post Sandy, I was sad to leave my dentist there, but this place was great! The staff was pleasant and the place was spotless. Cleanliness is something I look for in a dentist, especially after the stuff going down with the dentist in Oklahoma!! What other dentist do you get a working massage chair and your pick of movie or tv show to watch while they work? Going to a dentist has never been a pleasant experience for me - I like body parts in my mouth, but not when they involve drills. At Soho Smile, they will change your perception of the dental experience. As soon as you walk into the building you're instantly put at ease with wonderful smelling candles and a super hospitable front desk staff. Both of the times that I have gone I have not waited longer than five minutes, which is some kind of voodoo magic, before a hygienist came to get me. They took me down the stairs, past more spa-like decor, to a small room with a massage chair, flat screen and database of hundreds of movies and television shows. My first visit involved a routine cleaning and check-up, my second visit was for a filling of a pretty deep cavity. I was considerably nervous, since it was my first time having chucks of decay excavated from the back of my mouth, but Dr. John (and his obvious expertise) completed the procedure with absolutely no pain on my part. The assistant brought me a hot towel to wipe my hands with, and I was on my way. Have referred many to Dr. John, and will continue to do so; he is kind, knowledgeable and his office exudes beauty and style. read more

I had a Visit again to Soho Smile .. they were very efficient with schedule and soon as i walk in they had walk-in sheet ready to be sign and soon as i completed it they took me in for cleaning.. The Person who helped me took her time to clean very good for almost 1 hours which satisfied me. My Dentist give me good recommendation to keep my teeth healthy.. . ..... I live in Long Island and i had other Dentists and they were about making money and in 10-15 minutes they will tell you that your cleaning is done you might need to get additional services which is not covered by your company insurance bla bla .. I hate those dentist when they just want to make bill even i have healthy teeth.. So I give Soho Smile 5 out of 5 Stars try them you will not go anywhere else... read more

I love Soho Smile so much that I have sent three of my friends there already! Seriously, this place is more like a spa than a dentist's office. First off, it is actually located in a spa, the SoHo Integrative Health Center. You sit in a massage chair, put on headphones, and watch the DVD of your choice while getting your teeth cleaned. I actually sometimes forget I'm at the dentist! Dr. John is super friendly, talented, and yes, he is also very hot. Marina, the dental hygienist, is extremely nice as well. Dr. John and his team are the best. I've been going to him for a few years after he came highly recommended from a colleague. I've been going to the dentist 2x per year my entire life and I'm terrified of anything beyond a cleaning due to my highly sensitive teeth. After putting a couple of old fillings on watch, the time came to have them replaced. Since I wrote my original review, they have moved to a new office, still in Soho, now on Spring Street. While their last office was quite nice, the new office blew me away. Tons of natural light, all brand new construction (they had it custom designed and built out from scratch to meet their needs), beautifully appointed, and still the same great skills, personnel and service. Really impressed with this office -- I found them just by a basic google maps search. Dr. Koutsoyiannis is super friendly, and his staff is incredibly nice and communicative. The office itself is spotless and bright. Major bonus for the movies during a cleaning! I couldn't believe I got to watch a movie while my plac was removed. Going to the dentist is actually pretty enjoyable when you're heading to Soho Smile. Everyone is so nice and personable there so you feel right at home. The facility is state of the art with DVDs and everything. When you're getting work done you feel more like you're sitting in your living room instead of in a dentists chair. Maria is great at handling the insurance company so I haven't once had to call them. Marina has handled all my tooth emergency emails superbly, calming me down from panic mode. I've been to a few dentists in various countries, but nobody has earned my trust like Dr. John. Dr. John breaks everything down for you and provides evidence of his past accomplishments so you know you're in good hands. He tries to get everything perfect at the least cost and effort on your part. For example, if you get Invisalign done with them, he'll sell you the teeth whitener at cost and explain how to apply it using your trays so that you don't have to pay them to do it in the office. More recently, after I got my veneers done a silly drunken friend of mine accidentally slammed a glass into them chipping one. Dr. John generously fixed it taking only the insurance coverage as payment. He really is on the side of his patients. read more
