So excited to have happened upon this small "hole in the wall" ramen bar. Parking was easy with a plenty of spots right outside the restaurant and there was plenty of seating indoors, although we did arrive for a late lunch on a Friday. We ordered the Chasu ramen and spicy black garlic chasu ramen with the karaage chicken. The food came out quickly and very hot; I love my soup very hot, haha. The chicken was crispy on the outside and so tender on the inside. It was seasoned perfectly. I wasn't a fan of the sauce but the chicken alone was just enough! I loved my chasu ramen bowl. The homemade broth was so tasty and savory; I finish my whole bowl included all the broth because it was that good. The soft boiled egg was nice especially since they gave you the full egg and not just one half. They gave big pieces of meat which was nice and a lot of goodies in the bowl. My husband got the spicy black garlic chasu which was also good. The spice hits you in the back of your mouth and throat with that warm and tingling sensation all the way down to your tummy versus just spicy on the tongue which is nice. Looking forward to coming back and trying the tonkatsu!

This was our first time coming here. It's at the end of a strip mall behind a Greek restaurant and down the way on in the same strip mall as a Cosmetology store and a sushi place. Parking can become an issue during peak times, but luckily we went on a Saturday for lunch and got a spot close by. It's a small restaurant They have 8 tables/booths. The table we sat at was in the middle and held 8 people. It was the only one open when we arrived. There is a cold draft when people open the door so that was a bit chilly. They have a single bathroom labeled customer on it. It was clean and spacious. There is a glass cases by the cash register. The cases on the left held drinks of all kinds including sake and beer. The case on the right might of held desserts, I wasn't close enough to see. Service was good. They came by several times to check on us and to refill our water glasses. We both ordered R1, Chasu Ramen for $13.99. It was delicious. It's the best Chasu I've every had, It was meaty and not too fatty like most of them are. My husband was going to order another Ramen, but was informed that the pork was fried so he opted for R1 with me. The broth was fabulous. My husband said that with out a good broth you don't have a good Ramen. The broth makes the difference. The noodles were fresh and plentiful. It also came with bean sprouts that gave it a crunch, mushrooms, and a egg. I recommend this place for there good ramen and I will be back. I do suggest in the winter time dress a bit on the warm side if you sit near the door.

Their ramen was filling and flavorful. We got the spicy and they were kind enough to make one less spicy. Food was fast and friendly service.

Soku is a very cute restaurant with tasty ramen, udon, and sando options. I ordered the spicy black garlic ramen and shred spicy edamame with my friends. I thought the broth was delicious, came out piping hot, the meat was a bit fatty, but the meal was very filling. It wasn't super heavy in garlic flavor which was ok and I added a little bit of chili oil for more spice which was great. The spicy edamame was delicious and came with little pieces of peppers and onions. My friend got the beef udon and I would definitely get that next time because it was amazing and super flavorful! We luckily got a table quickly because it was semi busy and parking was very difficult. It's located in a busy area near other restaurants so make time to find a spot to park. The staff were nice but didn't answer the phone earlier in the day when we called. I would definitely come back.

This was my first time coming here. Typically I avoid restaurants in this area, because parking has been terrible in my experience. Thankfully when I did come a few weeks ago, parking was not a problem. I ordered the black garlic chashu ramen. The broth was fantastic! Great flavor and the ramen was perfect on a cold day. Our server was very nice and great at refilling our water.

If you are looking for a good ramen spot, check out Soku Ramen Bar! My husband and I decided to dine in the couple of times I have been here. There's various seating inside and it is a small indoor seating space. I like the drink options like various milk teas, smoothies and teas. They do have alcohol and dessert. I would love to go back and try items off their dessert menu. I do love that they have sandwich options. I do want to go back to try a chicken katsu sando. Their rice bowls and udon look good too. I would love to try the curry! Their appetizer menu is expanding. I wanted to try the chicken musubi and glad I did! You cannot go wrong with good ol' edamame. They have other items too such as gyoza, dumplings and spring rolls! Their ramen is SO GOOD! From various options like veggie, chicken, beef, pork, tofu, and plain, you cannot go wrong. I do highly suggest that you check out Soku next time you are craving ramen!

Wow so let me say I found this gem through someone's video randomly on some social media site so I bookmarked it - I wanted a banh mi but was feeling like some good soup and hadn't had ramen in a while! Am I glad we came YES YES AND YES!! This place is the bomb and if you love ramen you have to check it out! Walking up I saw two ladies and asked have you eaten here? Both said oh yes all the time - the older proceeded to tell us her daughter was home from college and they always have to come! She names several menu items she loves and then said but everything is really good! Ramen: it was the first one on the menu upper left and let me tell you it is amazing! I wanted more - the pork belly so flavorful and tender loved the cabbage and bean sprouts and black mushrooms! The flavor was perfect and the noodles on point. Couldn't have been happier! Green onion pancake - fluffy and yummy! Good simple sauce Bao pork bun - pretty standard and nothing wow but still good (should have tried the tonkatsu sandwich!) Chicken karaage - lightly battered and cooked perfectly- sauce could have been a little smoother for my taste but it worked well with the dish! Yummy stuff! Beef and rice - this is a winner just like the ramen! We wanted the pork but they were sold out so we went with the beef! Ironically it was the dish the lady suggested as we walked in! Oh my it was AMAZING! The beef was delicious and the rice perfectly cooked with just a little of the sauce from the beef on the bottom and the broccoli was crunchy and delicious. Favorite was this and the ramen!!! Thai ice tea was also note worthy not super sweet or thick but great flavor! Lemonade - tasted homemade fresh and yummy!! The restaurant is chill with no frills but super cute and you know they have good food by the amount of people who kept coming in!! Great staff very friendly and tried to keep up with the crowd! It got crazy busy for the small establishment but we never felt ignored so that was good!!

We ordered chashu ramen and spicy chashu ramen. Both ramen bowls taste flavorful. The chashu was delicious and easy to bite. The noodles' texture was okay. The shop has some seated tables. The plaza has limited parking.

This is, overall, a "soft" 3. This meal wasn't bad...but it wasn't really noteworthy, either. The ambiance is relaxing, with traditional Japanese artwork along the walls. There were two other parties eating lunch, but it was still a peaceful setting. The server was pretty chill, and my water was always filled. I even got a fruit candy with my check The ramen broth was delicious....flavorful. traditional, and stayed hot the whole meal. The contents, however....were plain. No other word to describe the contents. Kinda boring. Also, disappointingly, the egg was COLD in hot broth, meaning it probably had been precooked....making me paranoid of salmonella. I mean....decent. There are plenty of other ramen shops I prefer in the Sacramento area. This ultimately falls into my "wouldn't suggest, but if friends wanted to go, I wouldn't mind" category. Happy hunting for Ramen, peoples

Straight to the point, no frills, absolutely amazing ramen location. Cannot recommend Soku enough (especially compared to other competitor locations). The ramen is absolutely amazing, and the noodles are amazing. Their veggie ramen is the best in town with a delicious and flavorful broth. The service here is always amazing. Quick, efficient, and always friendly!

I've been seeing this place around my neighborhood for a while and always told myself I'd try it eventually. Finally had a craving for ramen, so I decided to stop in and I'm glad I did. The vibe inside was chill and inviting. It wasn't super packed, but there was a good flow of people, which made it feel lively without being loud. I ordered the spicy ramen and a poured goju to go with it. The food came out pretty quick. The ramen was flavorful with a nice kick to it, and the goju hit the spot. Nothing over-the-top, but definitely solid and satisfying. Service was simple and efficient; friendly enough, no complaints. It felt good to finally check this place off my "local spots I keep saying I'll try" list. I'll probably come back again to try something different next time. Overall, a good experience--worth checking out if you're in the area and in the mood for ramen.

This review is only for to-go orders. When I'm craving a Japanese sandwich, I come here and order one to go. I've never eaten inside the restaurant, but it looks clean when I come here to order and wait for my food. Service is excellent and they always greet you and take your order in a timely manner. I usually see other costumers dining in and enjoying their food. I've only had the chicken Katsu sandwiches from here, and it is good. I enjoy it and it fills me up. You can go a la carte sandwich or with a side of fries. They also have ramen and a few other dishes, which I still have to try. Parking is a bit tight, but you can always do street parking if the lot of full. Will have to try other items on the menu.

We like coming here for our ramen and/or katsu sando fix :) the staff is friendly and the food is delicious! I usually get their spicy Romen and hot tea (only comes in green). The spicy ramen gives a nice kick. It's a really good size (I would say it's a shareable portion) and hits home especially on a rainy day. The egg is perfectly runny and there are plenty of toppings. I really like the animated tapestry on the wall and they have very subtle instrumental music playing in the background. Their bathroom needs some TLC but other than that super cute place. Definitely coming back agai

Broth was boring. Charsu was overly salty. Just blah. Quality was fine, but the flavor wasn't there. Ramen broth should be rich.

Do they serve alcohol? If not is byob allowed?

Yes they do have alcohol. I think they have beer and sake

    Is the tofu ramen vegan?

    Yes there is .

Do they have a gluten free noodle option?

No, called today, 1/16/2023, and definite "we are a ramen restaurant and not gluten free". So no arguing that, sigh.

    Are they still close?

    Open now for dine in!

What vegan options do they have and are their staff knowledgeable about what can be made vegan?

The menu had a veggie ramen that came in a vegan broth. There was also a tofu ramen that I'm sure you could ask to have the vegan broth subbed in.

Is this place still open? Just stopped by and restaurant is closed but their hours of operation, say open.

I thought they are closed Sundays and Mondays

Authentic Japanese Ramen Review by Miss Doubtfire…read more Absolutely loved the ramen here! The flavors are authentic, rich, and truly remind me of a real Japanese ramen shop. You can tell the chefs put a lot of care and skill into every bowl, from the broth to the noodles and toppings. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant was very clean and comfortable. It's not just great food--it feels like an authentic Japanese dining experience. If you love real ramen and appreciate quality food, great chefs, friendly service, and a clean atmosphere, this place is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended!

This had the perfect balance of sweetness. It was light and refreshing and balanced the rest of the flavors of the meal. I started with the seaweed salad. It was a solid seaweed salad. Good seasoning and texture. It was a good portion size as well. Melissa and Jonathan had the gyoza. They were stuffed full of meat, but I felt like the seasoning was a little less than and also they were unevenly cooked. I still tried one though because a gyoza is a gyoza. As my main, I had the karamiso ramen with a spicy miso based broth with seasoned ground chicken, veggies and chili threads for an extra kick. I enjoyed this bowl of ramen. It was the perfect level of spice. I am partial to ground meat in ramen, so I liked that this was an option. The veggies were cooked al dente which I appreciated, and the broth was filling and flavorful. The noodles were thin which is my favorite type. Attentive service here. OUr water cups were always filled no matter how hot the ramen was. Solid meal here.

I got the black ramen garlic which came with the usual toppings: roasted pork chashu , corn, green onions, bean sprouts, soft boiled egg, bamboo shoots, and actual fried garlic. I will 100/100 always order this ramen. Very flavorful broth. My husband got the chicken ramen, which I tasted, and it too had a flavorful broth. You choose your spicy level. I got medium which was basically mild. The portion and price make this a great deal for a quick dinner in Midtown. I love the late hours and the speed of which our food came out. We ordered the geso (fried squid) and the veggie tempura. I do not recommend the tempura. The batter was thick like carnival onion rings. They need to use panko for breading. The geso was ok, and served with an aioli sauce. Stick with the ramen. No need to waste stomach space on their appetizers. The right half of the restaurant is for Ramen 101, and the other side is for Orchid Thai. You order at the counter and get a number, find a seat.
