Hmmmm so I was very excited to get a bouquet here so I went out of my way to get there out of my neighborhood. I have a feeling that it's much better to pre-order the bouquet if you would like to get high quality flowers. I needed something last min and went there to pick out the flowers. The dahlias and roses were in pretty good condition but the greens has rust and the peony was all over the place which I asked for it to be taken out. Really pretty paper wrapping and the lady who put it together for me was pretty nice and fun. It's a bit expensive for me to try this place out again.. maybe pre-order! read more

This is the 2nd time we went to this neighborhood florist because I liked the quality of the bouquet we got on the first time. However, my husband called in advance to order a bouquet in their design, but specifying we would like long stems roses and stargazer Lilies because we have a 14" tall vase (and my husband told them that). However, the roses are not long stems, and the lilies are not stargazers. The bouquet looks hideous in our huge vase. VERY disappointed. Rude service. I understand they are Russian, and there is a cultural difference. But there is also what's called being a decent human being. I waited in the front for over 10 minutes before being helped. During the 10 minutes I looked around and noticed the potted plants were overpriced. A small pathos was $25! And a medium sized one was $125! Don't waste your time or money here. Aside from that the lady very rude with only one word answers to all my questions. Couldn't get out of there faster. It's my favorite for single stems -- I sometimes leave with ten individual flowers, often each going into their own vase at home with just a bit of greenery to round them out. When I encounter the younger woman (who I think is the owner), all goes well. The service is good and the bouquets are pleasing. When I get the larger older woman, the service is poor and I have to pick the flowers myself. Last time I came in, I had to wait for her to take an order from a customer on the phone, and then she proceeded to call that order in somewhere (delivery company?) even though I was standing right in front of her waiting to pay for my flowers. Next time I came in, I was ignored. She did not offer to help me with picking the flowers, even though the shop was empty, and I left the store. Not planning to be back. read more

The store itself is really lovely and has a great selection of fresh and dried flowers as well as succulents. The floral designers are really creative and collaborative. Every single bouquet we did with Anastasia was truly unique and every time it is one-of-a-kind. It is hard to pick which one is my favorite. That being said, one particular bouquet that was created by Anastasia stands out in our mind. It was made for our wedding earlier this year. We have met with Anastasia before the special day and discussed wedding color scheme and flower preferences. The bouquet and coordinating boutonniere exceeded our expectations! Went to Gaspare's the other night and had always passed by this cute little floral shop yet not purchased anything. After dinner, decided to stop in as I had seen some amazingly gigantic peachy-colored roses. I went in, picked them out with the help of the lovely Liana (?) and saw a GORGEOUS, all black, artisan necklace MADE OF SILK WORM COCOONS! I also picked up a card for a woman, Stella Kim, who does make-up and hair. Sol Ambiance's owner is a delightful woman named Oxana who's just a joy to work with. I was so happy with my shopping experience that I'm going back to pick up my necklace after a few adjustments have been made and look into having her do my orchids for my office. It's SO refreshing to see that small businesses are STILL THRIVING in the Richmond district neighborhood especially given all the recent changes and new transplants who've moved there and, as a result, are jacking up the costs of rents and house prices. read more
