I should have signed up for Yelp a while back just to high-five-star Sol Jewelry Design. I've been a customer for close to twenty years (which is effen frightening in and of itself) My purchases tend to be very middle of the road price-wise. I'm not buying 30k diamond solitares and 17 thousand dollar necklaces...however...I've always been treated as if I were. Years ago Sol used to advertise in Los Angeles Magazine. I don't know if he still does. This was back in the day of no Staples Center and LA Live. You simply didn't go downtown if you didn't need to! So, one day I decide to big-time it and go to the INTERNATIONAL JEWELRY CENTER on Hill Street where Sol Jewelry Design is located in a secure high-rise building. How anybody shops at those old-school street-level-gold-chain-shit-sellers is beyond me. The selection, the service, the validated parking...and THE PRICE...is spot on! I don't think that I've ever guessed correctly the price of any item I've picked out. I've always guessed over sticker, so I am always pleasantly surprised when Sol totals me up. I've been there many times over the years for many reasons and the experience is always tasteful and tactful. You can trust Sol with secrets. Any repairs you need done....take it to Sol and he will see that it gets done properly without your piece leaving the building. If you need custom design work done, Sol is more than capable to execute the design in whatever metals or stones you have in mind. Buy there one time and you're a lifer. Go anywhere else and get invited to the next Dinner For Schmucks. If Yelp allowed a person to give 400 stars I would do so without reservation. Yeah, it's actually that pleasant an experience. It's worth the drive and worth getting to know Sol and Giselle. I was in the market to buy an engagement ring for my fiance (now wife) last fall. I had been told to go to the Jewelry Mart in LA by several people. My fiance and I had been looking around at all the typical stores around Orange County when she found the exact design she wanted. It was very unusual and almost impossible to find, as well as being very expensive when we did find it. A friend recommended Sol's Jewelers. I recently purchased a custom-made engagement ring from Sol. I was referred to Sol through a friend and can't thank both of them enough for eliminating a lot of the stress and anxiety that comes with purchasing a diamond for the first time. He was very helpful in explaining all of the aspects of selecting a stone and the custom setting was crafted just as I wanted it (correction: how my fiance wanted it). I went in after giving him a call to describe my budget and preference, and he had carefully pre-selected some diamonds for us to take a look at together.
