Install was very well done. Crew was professional and did a great job. All solar systems will require a little bit of conduit on the outside of your house in order to get the power from the roof to your electrical meter. The crew supervisor was able to run the conduit closer to the bottom of the house so as to minimize the visibility of the conduit. This required some extra work on their part. After installation, you'll need to wait a few weeks for the county and NV energy to do their inspections. Meanwhile, Sol-Up will send a painter to paint the exterior facing solar system parts to match your house exterior color. The front office does a great job making sure everything's on schedule. One trivial issue: Other Solar Companies such as Tesla will allow you to monitor the electricity that your solar array produces alongside the electricity your house is consuming and the net energy that you're sending back to NV energy. I was looking forward to this functionality because I like watching arrows move on my phone. I found out that SolUp usually does not install this extra electricity meter to bring the cost of the system down. I was a bit bummed, but after learning that the part cost $500, I was a bit glad that they saved me the money. All inflow/outflow data can be reconstructed with your NV energy bill. read more

This is my first review of Sol-Up, and it covers the sales process through installation. I say that because I have the system installed now, but I haven't actually had the chance to use it. I'll review that once NV Energy turns it on, which is going to be a few weeks. First, let me say that Dan with Sol-Up sales is simply the best salesperson I've spoken to in my experience interviewing the best solar installation companies in Nevada. This isn't my first solar installation either. It's not because he "sold" me on anything. He guided me with a lot of patience and great information, over many months. Even after I signed my life away, he was there for me. He's not just a salesperson, he's a customer himself. He knows his competition and doesn't trash-talk them. He knows the differences, the pros and cons, etc. He knows his equipment, and believe me I challenged him! He kept me from buying a system that was overkill for my needs, which I truly appreciate. All in all, 100% on Dan's part. The installation team, Denis, Alfredo, Geo, Jacob and Elison nailed it. Elison was the supervisor on the job, and made every effort to execute the cleanest installation possible. They were in at 6:00 AM and out by noon, and did an outstanding job. Elison communicated with us throughout the morning, making sure the let us know if he was going to cut power, make noise, etc. My wife is a teacher, teaching from home so that was huge for us. I asked them to replace a broken tile that I knew was in an unrelated area of the roof, and they just did it with a smile. So great. You would never know they were even there, except for the great looking 32-panel Sol-Up system on my roof, 1 inverter box on the wall in the garage, and a small control box out by the meter. When I shopped around for solar options (which I suggest you do) Sol up offered 100$ for coming into their office for a proposal meeting. Regardless of whether I went with them for solar I was supposed to get that 100, however half a year later they haven't made good on that promise. The proposal meeting went fine, there was a weird frat bro vibe to the whole place but they were fine about the whole thing. The cost and loan rate Sol up was offering was significantly worse than what I was offered from other companies so I decided not to go with Sol up. I received a call from Sol up some time later and explained to them I decided to go with another company. They thanked me for my time, and that should've been the end of it. Instead now they call me like every few weeks to try to get me to go over new offers even though I repeatedly tell them I've already got panels on my home. I've blocked so many of their numbers but they keep calling me from new ones. I have not had this problem with any other company, and even if I didn't go with other companies I'd still recommend seeing what they have to offer. I recommend you stay away from Sol up at all costs, they lie to you and hound you relentlessly, they're slimy sales people masquerading as a goodwill solar company. I wasn't even going to write anything about them but they called me one too many times after I blocked their other numbers. I've had bad experiences with other companies sure, but nothing that had me writing reviews about them.. I hope this will save even a couple people from having to deal with this company. Estimated number of panels upon quote was not accurate despite letting estimator know that we had no history of usage at our new home and previous owner was an elderly woman who lived here by herself. We moved in as a family of five with an EV and possibility of a second EV. As such, we have been disappointed with our electric bill still being relatively high. They sold us a couple of Solar Edge inverters. This company's app sucks. We've already had cell connectivity go down on one of them already, however, Sol-Up sent their guys out and fixed the issues. The installation and service techs who have come out since install know what they're doing. The gripe is with service number reps. They don't know much and they don't seem to answer right away or if they do, almost always they request to call me back because they don't know what needs to be done. Also, when we purchased the system, they ensured us that their office would be monitoring our system for any down time on our panels. They don't seem to be doing that. The issue with the cell service as stated above was only noticed by me when i happened to look at the Tesla power wall app which indicated that one of the arrays was not generating any power. It was down for a couple weeks before I noticed it and called service. They don't monitor a damn thing. Disappointed in the company. read more

I am autistic. I'm able to live on my own and to hold a job because my life is very structured. Unless a phone call appointment has been scheduled, I do not like using phones. My issue with phones is that I never know when they will ring or who might be calling. Since this upsets my sense of structure, my phone is almost always turned off and all calls will go to voice mail. My experience with Sol-Up has been nothing but positive. My quest to get solar has been 5 years in the making, from trying to understand the best panels and inverters to getting a fair deal, I'm ultimately glad I settled on Sol-Up. Sales process: Over two months I talked with 5 different solar companies. All had lengthy pitches trying to appeal to me about saving the Earth. None were willing to show me prices until after their 2-hour pitches, in some cases after I pushed. Then came Mike from Sol-Up. In 20 minutes he showed me price and loan options, exactly what equipment they are using and why it was superior, and exactly how the process will play out. Their prices (far better than competitors), loan options, professionalism, and product made Sol-Up a no brainer. Planning process: We were assigned a coordinator who was easy to reach, honest, and got back to you with updates right away. They sent an engineering team to inspect the roof, and advised us on some potential roof issues. They even helped finance the roof repair costs with their loan provider. From there they scheduled an install date. Installation process: On the day of the install "Team Shark" showed up. They were a fun-loving bunch that were easy to work with. They took pride in their work and cleaned up after themselves. By their professionalism I could tell that the company treats them well. Post-installation: This stage can be frustrating but you are dealing with city, county, and NV Energy inspectors, and in some cases could be waiting weeks. They kept us informed on both when they anticipated an inspector and when they were done. Luckily for us, probably due to the pandemic, this only took a couple weeks. Once complete, the system was turned on. A couple days later, a painter came and painted the piping and solar boxes to match the house. Support: You get an app to track your solar production. The first week we had an issue but were able to get them resolved promptly by their support team. Overall, the process took 2 and a half months, but would have been sooner like 1.5 months if we didn't need roof repairs. At no point did I feel regret or remorse for my decision. Other things to note that none of the solar companies tell you: - That excess electricity you generate in the winter you basically sell to NV Energy at a discount (75 cents on the dollar) then buy back at full price in the summer. Google "net metering tiers". There is nothing the solar companies can do--you people voted to preserve the monopoly. - You qualify for a 26% federal tax credit, but talk to an accountant as you may not pay enough tax to claim even to rollover to the following years. read more

We looked into getting Sol-Up when we first purchased our home. It seemed like a good deal so we signed up only to find an additional $10,000 slapped on to our original quote for fees. I told them we were not going to pay an additional $10,000 and I'd rather cancel the order completely. Two months go by with me emailing the account manager several times restating that we do not want Sol-Up with no written response. They sent an intent to lien on for the ENTIRE contract price even though they never gave me the panels. (I'm sure they intent to just use the parts/ panels for another house as they were the same equipment they use for everyone else and not special made for my home.) I contacted their CFO who assured me he would be reasonable and get back to me with a figure for the work they did - inspection and commission. Never heard anything back except for another lien notice today. If I could give a company a 0 for communication, I would. This company has been actively trying to rip me off from the get-go and basically said "if you won't pay us $10,000 then you'll pay us $25,000." It's Vegas but don't gamble with this company. Update: This is the first company I ever had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They eventually sent us an invoice of all of the charges they incurred ($2,500) to which we agreed to pay but refused any stipulations. They still tried to add stipulations after we put it in writing that we would ONLY be paying for their time and service. They were dishonest slimeballs up to the very end. (We didn't pay or accept any stipulations, Sol-Up eventually agreed and the complaint was closed. Business Owner Update: Hear it straight from the horse's mouth - if you can't pay $17,000 upfront then they will tell you days later that there's a $10,000 financing fee you won't find out about (because your salesperson is commission) until after their 3 day time period to change your mind. Don't try to cancel - you're locked in to whatever other fees come up along the way that your salesperson most certainly won't mention. Also worth noting, they still tried to charge me thousands over the agreed to $17,000 when I tried to cancel even though I had no panels delivered and no financing done. They're just trying to suck you dry for every penny you have any tell you it's because of company policies and red tape. read more

Install fine, they seem to have it all together TILL one has issues. They brag about how they monitor your panels. Now I'm told over 7,000 customers and they don't have time to monitor them all. WTH! I had problems with my phone app. It showed panels not lighting up, are my panels working? They did something so my phone app panels are lit up 24/7. 25 year warranty and now I find out a $250.00 service call. You lost a bunch of referrals my CPA was going to pass on to you. First full month of solar. I get a $60.00 bill. I call NV ENERGY and try to get them to explain the monitoring system. The woman I talk with says, you got a problem with your panels, they are not feeding back the normal amount of energy 31 panels should generate. I call Sol-up and fill out the required forms to get a service person. Said they'll call within 48 hours. That time has passed. Panels are great, warranty I thought was wonderful. LOL What a waste. I'd like someone whose going on their first full month of solar to tell me if they got the infamous $13.50 bill as promised. read more

Earlier this week, we finally had our solar panel installation from Sol-Up. Day 1 installation crew was Jeovanni, Andrew and Grady. The team arrived around 7:45am and actually arrived on our property quietly and professionally for such an early hour. We went outside and were warmly greeted by the team as they introduced themselves. They let us know it would be an all-day job and that the electricians would have to come back the next day to finish the work. The team began by removing some roof tiles and asking us what we would like them to do with the removed tiles. Things got loud pretty quickly as the team began their process. One of the team kept us informed each step of the way which was really neat to be part of the process as it occurred on our roof. I had planned on making a big lunch for the crew to show my appreciation for their skill and just as I had lunch on the table, the rain came! We gathered the crew under our dry patio cover and let them eat while we got to know them a bit. Each man was polite and told us a little about themselves. This interaction really made the whole experience a lot more personal and made us feel valued as customers. After lunch, the rain blew away and the wiring and panel installation was complete. The crew finished up around 2:00pm, cleaned up after themselves and let us know to expect the next crew around the same time the next morning. Day 2 Electricians - Domi and JVR (Javiar) showed up with bright smiles and enthusiasm for their job. They introduced themselves and got to work on the roof. The inverter in our garage was clearly explained to us and well as the disconnect and meter. It was also explained that the county would have to make their inspection first and then NV Energy would come out to make the final inspection before the system could be turned on. Another lunch and another sit-down to get to know the crew a little bit more. Again, I wanted them to feel welcome and appreciated while on our property. Great conversation and I really enjoyed getting to know Domi and JVR. They finished up around 4pm and left our property cleaner than it was when they arrived. Our inspection is already scheduled for later this week. (Less than 7 days after installation). This entire process from speaking with the office personnel to our initial consultation to actual installation has been professional and hassle-free. No pressure from anyone at any point and we were involved every step of the way. We had some curious neighbors ask questions and I do hope they decide to install solar through Sol-Up as well! They refuse to honor their OWN warranty. I can't see my output because the 3G antenna no longer works and they're trying to charge me to upgrade. They think they are above the law and completely refuse to acknowledge the Magnuson-Moss federal Warranty Act enacted in 1975. That law says you can open the cover on anything you own and/or have somebody other than themselves work on it without voiding the warranty. Yet Sol-up is constantly threatening to void their already crappy warranty if I open the cover on the inverter that I OWN! The nice thing is they would lose that court case every time if it gets to that point. They just bait you and get you to sign by propping up a "great warranty" yet when you can't see your own output they turn a deaf ear. Now my power bill went from zero to almost two hundred monthly, and I may never know why because they refuse to do the right thing. When I pay 23,000 for a product, I expect better than this. They told us initially it would take 2 days for installation, but I was pleasantly surprised when they knocked on my door at the end of the 1st day and told me they were done. I have an issue to be handled and have spoken their "customer service rep" three times over the past two weeks. I called back and insisted on talking to a human beings and apparently that's "not possible". I personally believe service AFTER the sale is as important as the sale itself. This is my second review. The first one was on the sales, and install. I gave them a A for that part of the Job. Now the City of Henderson has to come out and inspect to sign off on the install. Next step was for NV Energy to come out and inspect and place a new Solar meter. The Sol Up Customer service team did a great job of keeping on top of these final inspections so we could start producing electricity. Sol Up (Tina) did a very professional job making this happen. The last step was to turn on the system! Again Sol Up walked me through the system and now we have power made out of the sun. The App shows us exactly how the solar panels are producing power. Listen! Listen! Sol up is the best solar company in Vegas. They're top notch and second to none. I took my time and did months of research before making my decision. I received a quote from Sunrun and spoke with a representative by the name of David. David was very aggressive, pushy and annoyingly called/texted me several times attempting to make a sale. Sunrun's prices were very expensive compared to Sol up. Their negative reviews also made me very hesitant, as several of their customers had issues with pigeons, the installation process and warranties. Sol up had great reviews! Nonetheless, I vetted several of them and took the time to contact customers directly. Each customer was very happy with their panels and the entire process. Upon contacting Sol up, I spoke with Grant. Grant was very professional, knowledgeable about the products and answered all of my questions without being so aggressive. He explained each step of the process and was very responsive to emails and phone calls. Sol up also had much better loan options, with competitive interest rates. I was able to choose the best option with me, while the prices were much cheaper than Sunrun - including THE BEST Panasonic panels. Sol up took care of all of my HOA paperwork :) All of the paperwork (agreements..etc) was completed via Docusign, which was very convenient - due to the Covid-19. The whole process was very easy....way easier than I expected, having no experience what so ever in Solar Panels. The staff at Sol up was very professional and polite. The installation process was seamless! The crew arrived on time and completed the job before the expected time. After the installation was completed, they left my house and garage clean - without leaving any residue. You would have never known solar panels were installed. They quoted a very fair price, helped at every step of the regulatory process with our HOA and NV Energy, answered all my questions, explained that the 25 year warranty was backed up by Panasonic (manufacturer of the solar panels we chose), Installed the panels on the date promised - at the time promised, with a proffessional and knowledgeble crew led by Denis - who communicated at every step of the installation. I had solar installed on my home in early December. It has been up and running for about a month and half. Due to the high ratings and my desire for an established company I went with Sol-up. With most big construction projects their can be SNAFU's. I'd kind of look at that as a blessing. The true colors of a company (or a person) shine through when things go south. When I made this company aware of some my grievances they stepped up and as a company made sure I was taken care of. The owner called me, the engineer and my original sales guy, all to make sure that I was aware that they were either correcting my systems performance or gently correcting my misunderstanding of how the system works. If something goes wrong with your install, I'd recommend trusting that they are not the "tail-light" contractor ("Warranty and response time ends when you can't see my taillights anymore"). I can be aggressive and impatient when I feel like I am being taken, and for a brief minute I felt that way with these guys due to those SNAFU's. I'd have to ask for forgiveness in any other situation for not being a little more patient, so I will ask the Sol-up team for the grace I should have given your team. read more

We requested a quote for roof top solar panels from Sol Up, and their rep came out in just a few days. He was fully prepared with a quote and layout of all the panels on the roof, calculations about the number pf panels that we would need to cover our electricity needs, based on Nevada Energy bills. Every time they said they were going to be here, they were prompt and efficient. All of the necessary paperwork was emailed to us, and we were kept up to date on each phase of the project. Now all we need is for Nevada Energy to show up and do the inspection so we can fire up the system. Good Job! read more
