I have had to look for new gals when my long-time hair stylists have gotten married & moved, etc. I saw the Facebook page for Lotus Studio 38 and was impressed that ex-Aveda stylists had their own business. I booked with Rea, and although I'm not a twenty-something gal, I did want a rocking new look that would come across as still professional at work. She worked with my schedule and let me book on a Saturday. Since the salon is so private, it was great, no chattering of other stylists & clients. Just her and I in a little tranquil place, may sound corny but with my hectic life, I treasure any quiet. She lifted my dirty blonde hair to a cool platinum shade, and did a great smoothing cut. My hair was in better condition than when I arrived with her deep conditioning treatment. It's been 3 weeks, and my color has lasted and my hair texture has not gotten "noodley" when stylists overprocess. I figured it would be best to do a review honestly after my appointment has passed and I could wash out my hair on my own and see what my hair looks like when I do it myself! So, I am pretty excited that taking a chance paid off. I'll be back in a week to do a root touch-up, and I hope she stays local to me.

I decided to get the same thing I usually do and I love the results and it took no time opposed to the 3 and a half hours it took with my other stylist. The price is fair and you definitely get your money's worth. My hair looks amazing and I will be going back to Rea from now on! I'd give 10 stars if I could!

Well, let me tell you, I was so relieved to find Janis. I felt confident and relaxed right away. She was so professional and really knew what she was doing. My perm turned out awesome!!! 3 weeks ago I made a terrible choice & dyed my natural auburn red hair black. 3 weeks was more than…read moreenough to realize I didn't like it & wanted my natural color back but of course I knew It would have to get bleached 1st so I went to Fantastic Sam's in San Dimas & chose Janis. She proceeded w/the long process of bleaching my hair everything was going fine until it came time to apply color on my hair...my hair was red again but instead of auburn it turned like a strawberry blonde instead which would've been okay except for it was so bright the top of my head looked like a carrot. It was just too bright. Janis was willing to redo it right then & there but unfortunately I had no choice but to leave. I'd been there since 12:30 pm & it was around 6:40 pm & I had to get to work @ 7pm so I had to sport around orange hair for 8-10 hours. We planned to meet back at salon next morning. She proceeded with applying color on my hair again. I was so worried cuz the dye on my head looked black. I thought I'd be disappointed again but Janis worked her magic & the orange hair began to "darken" I was so afraid I'd be stuck with some hideous hair color I wouldn't like & there'd be nothing I could do about it. Janis is so great at what she does thankfully (she's been at it for like 63 years I believe) & to my great surprise & delight I looked in the mirror & saw beautiful auburn hair once again. Normally my natural hair color cannot be found in a "bottle" so to speak but Janis "worked her magic" & my current color is almost identical to my natural red hair. I highly recommend Janis! She is a pro at what she does & not to mention patient, kind, & she doesn't try to "cut any corners" even when she's already tired & faced with a lengthy 4-6 hour process she's very thorough & on top of all that she truly enjoys what she does. I give Janis 5 stars & highly recommend her! I have finally found my go to beautician/stylist & she's someone I can trust & I love her soo much! She's freaking awesome! Not ONE stylist showed up that morning, so I walked out and started calling other locations. Even though this location was understaffed due to sending two stylists to Covina to put out their fire, they kindly took me right away after hearing my story. Due to their limited staff, they were not offering blowouts and styling to keep the business moving, but due to the unfortunate and unprofessional circumstances at Covina, they made an exception for me, and Maricela did my shampoo and style with her apologies. Both ladies were so kind and sweet and professional and my hair looks amazing!!
