I had the misfortune to need a tow because my vehicle broke down. I pay for roadside assistance through my insurance company, and have not had any real issues with using that system... until today. Let me be clear. This was not an issue with my insurance provided roadside assistance - that part was easy and quick. The issue came after that. I waited for four hours for Solano Bay Towing to assist me in moving my vehicle to a shop not even five miles down the road. During that time, I had reached out by phone to ask for an update, which was stated to be provided once the man on the phone could reach his driver - red flag number one - and asked me to give him ten or fifteen minutes to get him. I gave this man a grace period, I waited almost an hour before I called back. I called back after reaching out to my insurance company, thinking that maybe there was a snag in communication - there WASN'T. I called back, and my call was denied and the person on the phone (I'm assuming the same man that was supposed to call back in ten to fifteen minutes) texted me the supposed name and number of the tow driver. I call - voicemail. Ask for an eta and a phone call back. Nothing. I'm two hour and a half hours deep at this point. Called the original business line - nothing. I was sent to voicemail, which was conveniently FULL. Here enters my wife - she calls the towing company, and the same man answers the phone. She is met with nothing but rude, unpleasant and abrupt answers. At one point during the call, he claims that she cut out (I know well and good that she didn't, because I could hear the background noise on HIS end) and that he didn't get what she said. She reiterated that it was wrong to make someone wait three and a half hours for a tow, with no eta update and no other response. The man HANGS UP, and even after repeated calls to him AND to his driver, we could not get back through. The entire experience with Solano Bay Towing was absolutely horrendous, and I have called my local insurance agent to submit a formal complaint regarding this business - which I can confidently say has reached the regional office. To ANYONE looking to use Solano Bay Towing for their towing needs, steer clear from the horrific experience that I know many others besides myself have had. read more

Last night my friend's car died on a busy street in a borderline neighborhood. He asked me to drive him home after his car was towed. He placed the request through his insurance at 7 pm. SBT estimated 90 minutes then estimated another 60-90 min. Around 9:50 pm, the driver called and said he couldn't take the car to the dealership because it was closed and said he would meet my friend at 10 am the next day. So we locked up his car and hoped it would be ok. So this morning my friend calls this company and they had no idea they needed to tow the car and the driver was off shift! So they sent someone but then they demanded an additional $200 to take to my friend's mechanic. My friend disputed this and talked with the case manager at the insurance company. I drove my friend to his car to meet the towing driver. SBT told the insurance company that they had towed my friend's car to their lot to keep it safe and then they towed it to my friend's mechanic thus they needed to charge the insurance company a bunch of extra money. They also said they HAD video doing all of this!!! I heard the guy confirming my friend's name and car. I was shocked by the dishonesty, lack of professionalism, and disorganization of this company. I would not have believed it had I not witnessed it. The person at SBT didn't realize he was on a 3 way so I could hear his lies and curse words he was calling my friend, who as incredibly calm and patient. I wanted to take the phone and tell him I wanted to see the video footage because he was a LIAR as we I can confirm we sat in the dark for THREE HOURS on a busy street at night. When he realized we knew he was lying, he suddenly backtracked. This company shouldn't be used for any insurance companies. Completely unprofessional and very disgusting. They should be ashamed but I know they aren't as they appear to keep screwing customers as illustrated in these reviews. Bad experience, over charged , I don't understand how CHP excepts this towing service

Called my insurance for road side assistance. They assigned us to this company. We were told they'd arrive at my location between 1130 and noon. Then it was changed to 1230 to 1pm. At 1pm I got a message that said they were either there or enroute. I called the driver and was told he had to stop in Fairfield to assist another driver. At 2pm I couldn't get the office or the driver on the line. I canceled them called Vacaville Tow at 203pm and their driver was at my location at 210pm and I paid the bill at 220pm and was on my way. I had my 87 yr old mother with me at her doctors appointment waiting for this. Glad i called another company won't let my insurance use Solano bay tow for me again read more

This Business has no visual sign with name to show where you are or signs as to where to go. Very unprofessional. Very difficult to reach numbers go to voice-mail everytime and everytime you get a message with no name info nothing a phone number repeating over and over. that number also goes straight to voice-mail everytime with another number being given that goes straight to voice-mail. Found the yard went through open gate to office doors locked nobody there spent over an hour calling while on the premises left went shopping came back same situation. took 2 days to get someone there and only by the grace of God because i went back the next day and someone from another business recognized ​me from the day before and asked if I needed help. Called and needed a tow. However, the earliest one would be available would've been at least an hour from the time I called. The gentleman who answered my phone call was polite. If I could rate 0 I would. I had asked originally for someone to come help with change my blown out tire & they quoted almost $200! Then ironically, my insurance dispatched them and took 2 hours! They forced their services and kept changing stories about why it was taking so long. Not to mention hanging up on us twice! Unprofessional is an understatement. Unprofessional and sketchy. Please go elsewhere and complain to the insurance companies that are contracted with them. I was on the side of the highway and was told by my insurance company that Solano Bay Towing would be there to tow my car at 11:10 p.m. When they didn't arrive I gave them a call to confirm they had the right information. The dispatcher complained about having to make a full circle on the freeway to get to me and recommended that I leave my car keys on the windshield and leave my car there for them to pick up and drop off my car. He really tried to convince me to do this. When I told him I wasn't going to do this he then sounded further annoyed and told me he would send someone in the next 30 min or so. This is now a 2 hour wait. Luckily their driver arrived 10 minutes later and did not acknowledge me but instead walked straight to my car to look at the problem. This man told me that he could just cut the part that was hanging off and then jumpstart my car. I asked him to please tow my car home which causes this man to start arguing with me on the side of the freeway at 12am. When I asked him a 3rd time to take my car home he threw his hands in the air and yelled "I wasn't even supposed to do this" The man then angrily comes back to me and doesn't have an address which makes me question why the man on the phone recommended more than once to leave my car on the side of the freeway. The man tows my car, leaves it angrily on the side all crooked, and leaves fast only to turn around 10 min later because he forgot the lights he left on my car. I will like to start by saying Rick is an incredible and awesome human being. I had to get my car toad from Autozone after they messed up installing a new battery and suddenly my car wouldn't start at all. When I called the gentleman who answered was very kind and courteous. The best part of my experience was the tow truck driver Rick. He literally went above and beyond. He not only towed my car to pick the part at the dealership and then to a great auto shop. This is the worst tow company. I would never recommend their services. I waited over 2 hours before Eric showed up and when he did, he was completely useless! He didn't know how to change a tire. After watching him try for 15 minutes, I told him I had never experienced anyone coming out who didn't know how to change a tire. My car was stuck on a cement bottom of a pole that was previously knocked over, half my car was lifted while the other half was touching the ground (Car had no damage, was just floating there). I called my insurance company to send a tow truck and I ended up waiting for a ABLE Towing company driver who said that the only way to get my car down was to yank it down which will wreck up the car beyond a simple fix, I said we could just lift it but the man said we couldn't and drove off like nothing. I called again and got Solano Bay Tow to come and help me, I did have a bad experience with them in the past so it was a bit disheartening. the ones that came were Rick and Drew, they looked at the car and asked what happened (the usual questioning). I told them my idea on how we could bring down my car and Rick simply told me we can do better and they both were able to lift my car off the cement base with absolutely no damage done. Bfs car broke down and they towed it here he went in and found it with a broken window and items taken out from it we were just trying to figure out how to get our car back and possibly fix it but that option was taken from us when we found our car in this condition even the oil was taken and our center console ripped out. Very unprofessional that they couldn't even own up to the damage and blamed it on someone else when we last saw our car it was not like this in one night of you picking it up that happened? These guys were great. My car died on me last night and I called USAA Roadside. They sent these guys and they were awesome. I was "lucky" enough to be broken down at a gas station, but it was still 10pm when mostly everything in Fairfield is closed. Ricky called to confirm the location and was there in 5 minutes. It was awesome since USAA's automated message system quoted 40 minutes initially. I definitely get that everyone's situation is different, but I couldn't have asked for a better outcome under the circumstances. read more

The owner of the company claims his name is "RIZ" says he was on the phone for 45 mins to get the okay to tow my car from solano bay tow to Kia of Vacaville and acting like it's such a huge "inconvenience". Riz hung up in my face and rejected my call when I tried to call them back! Mind you my car was picked up Thursday night from Rick and they stored my car at their facility overnight. Rick had informed me that my car would be dropped off to Kia of Vacaville Friday morning!! It's now Saturday evening and they still haven't received my car?? WTF is going on?? I called 4 other companies last night I started off with the first 5 star one and went down the line each one did not have a truck to tow my Tahoe truck at midnight from highway 12 just before the first passing lane back to Suisun. Solano tow told me it would be 45 minutes to an hour. OK thank you see you then it was my only option. Well an hour later my truck and family where home safe thanks to Troy.
