They towed my vehicle and sold it without giving me a release of liability. When I attempted to retrieve the release from them, I was told it would take 7 days. I called them back in 7 days, and they had not requested the release. I called back 7 days later and was talked to very rudely. He would not let me say anything; he kept talking over me, told me not to call there again, and hung up on me. My friend got her car towed for being in the street it was non operational when we went down to get it towed she called the number a lady answered was very rude then a man came to a little window and I was In the car with the kids I could hear him raising his voice to her . She was asking questions which he didn't like Then charged her $650 for a one day of it being there she took a photo of their sign that clearly says $150 daily charge and I know other fees but really then when she asked for an itemized receipt he said we will send it very rude he told her she didn't need the key fob when she called then he said he told her she needed it so as we were leaving to get it the key tow truck driver we had waiting for us to tow the car was talking to the J&T employee. Nothing you can really but the 2 star rating is really high. Paying is never fun, but when they know have you by the ball you don't need to be rude about it. They don't want to give you info on lien sale they do on your vehicle. They try to jack the price up so when you go to pick it up they try and buy the vehicle from you. Rudest people I've ever encountered. I work for a company and one of our vehicle got towed, we are not headquartered in Northern California so when Inquiring on how I can retrieve the vehicle, I was met with condescending attitude on the phone. I was told that I, as well as the company I work for is retarded, I was then cursed out to which I promptly hung up the phone. It is very unfortunate that people have businesses run this way. I understand things are frustrating at work sometimes but this phone call happened about an hour ago and it's a Monday morning. No excuses. We needed a tow truck for one of our drivers stranded on the side of the freeway, they called saying they could only pick up the car and not give him a ride because their driver was "training" someone and there was no more room inside the two-seater tow-truck. How are you going to go and pick up a customer's car just to leave them stranded on the side of the freeway! Ubers and taxis are not going to pick up someone on the side of the freeway. This business is terrible. Called three hours prior to schedule a pick up for a 12:30 appt. Told me to call back at 11:00. Called at 11:00 and was told to text my pickup address. I did, and also mentioned (again) that I had a 12:30 appt (to turn the car in to car max). Never replied back. Okay, whatever. 12:15 rolls around and I don't have a tow truck and I haven't heard a word from the company. So I call to inquire. Same guy answers and says driver "should be on his way" and will call me. Didn't receive phone call. At 12:30 (the time I'm supposed to be at Carmax) I call him back and ask, "where is your driver?" He said "uhhh, I don't know." I said "what do you mean you don't know? I've done everything I was supposed to do to ensure I make my appt on time and you..." Then he cuts me off and says "well if you're gonna have an attitude.." and then hangs up on me. I tried calling back and he sends me straight to voicemail. He even tried to cancel the tow but the driver already had the car on the back when he received the cancellation text. Look, obviously if you're in need of a tow, you're probably not in the mood to deal with a rude, unprofessional, immature, indifferent, apathetic, inconsiderate asshole on top of it. Worst customer service ever and crappy tow company. HERES WHAT HAPPENED: They took my car from SCPD from not moving it in front of my dad's house for 72 hours when I was visiting and they said they don't know what they did with my front license plate. The bracket that I had installed by a professional shop is now gone with my plate missing they said they don't know where it's at when it was on my car and the owner was cussing all mad over the phone! Bro we just paid you your weekly salary how are you gonna talk like that to paying customers maybe put yourself in our shoes and treat people with respect. My car was towed on an early Sunday Morning. I called later the same day and was told by James that it was cash only $550. Now I see why reviews are so low. I can tell they take advantage of people who do not have access on a weekend to cash and have to wait extra time to have to wait until weekday and be charged more. When I went on the same day to pick up car apparently James original guy I spoke to was not available and he would call an associate. James was absolutely rude when I said the wrong color of my car (mind you I have 2 Hondas, easy mistake) He said to me, "is it your car or not? YES! ABSOLUTELY IT IS!!! I asked employee who helped me for a receipt, he said I have to ask James. I have text James repeatedly and still have not received a receipt. I was looking for a tow company to tow my car from the dealership to my in-laws house. The first places I called were so over priced. I went on Yelp and J&T Towing was the first company that caught my eye. Justin, the owner answered the phone as soon as I called. He was very friendly and gave me an affordable price for an in-town tow (Vacaville). He was prompt and even text me a picture of my car when he dropped it off. Their hours say they are 24hours so I am not certain why I wouldn't be able to pick my car up. They basically scam you to not be able to get it the same day so they can tack on a bunch of unnecessary fees. They charged me $555 to get my car out of tow and my car was there last than 10 hours. The owner Justin D. is extremely avaricious and does not care about anything beyond profiting off you. Furthermore, his rates are exorbitant, and he is not willing to work with customers that cannot afford them. He told me one price but raised it the next day by $200. When informing him that I could only afford the original towing price, his response to me was "Sorry, go back to your bank and pull out more money otherwise you won't get your car back." He does not accept credit or debit cards and demands cash only. He also failed to provide me with a receipt after I paid for the transaction. People like Justin D. are the worst people to deal with because they are only concerned about money and do not have even the slightest understanding of empathy and emotional intelligence. The worst towing company. If there were negative ratings, I would give that to them. They towed my car from my car spot from my apartment and said their was no permit on it, even though most of the cars didn't have the permit, and they picked my car only. Even my car was registered under the apartment complex. On the phone, the person who I talked to was JUSTIN.The most rude person I have talked to and met in my life. First, he said it would be $360 to get the car from the yard. I did not have anyone to take me their and waited for my husband until 6:30p.m. to go their. Once we got their no one opened the gate and talked through a little creepy window and said If you take your car right now, that will be $500. If you come tomorrow within the business hours, it will be $440. On the website, it says it's 24/7 open. The hours are 8-5, and no one told us that neither on the phone nor on the website. Just to open the gate, they want $140, which ridiculous and makes no sense. We got back their in the morning at 8, and it was not open. We called the number, and he said he is dropping his kid to school he'll be their at 8:30. Now, where are their business hours???? We waited their for 30 min for him and what about that are you gonna ask for less money now that you are late for your business??????Then again, he took everything from the little window and took my keys turned on my vehicle without my permission and did the conversation so rudely and in an appropriate manner to a woman who is pregnant. In the end, we had to pay $445 for all this. He yelled at me, not even once at least 4-5 times where I was trying to have a normal conversation. He is the most terrible person I have ever met and doesn't know how to do a business. He thinks he is doing it right by all this but Karma is a BITCH. He Sold me a car with a blown motor..it's my fault for being a trusting human; I brought a car with no key and not hearing the car start up... but that's not my problem .. it was the no sympathy or remorse part for me; he didn't care that he just got over on someone. (he knew the car engine was blown before selling it and didn't tell me) the story he gave to me was super believable until later after thinking about it. Moving day is stressful enough. When we were unloading the Uhaul my mom showed up with food for the crew and somehow locked her keys in the car before she was able to even get the food out. Her AAA card was expired but she told me to call them anyway. 20 mins later and STILL on hold, I pulled up Google and J&T Towing popped up. Gave him a call and within TEN MINUTES (on a Sunday no less) he was at my house and my moms car door was opened and the crew was being fed! His service time was very fast turn around and we are very pleased with his work. After reading some reviews that were left I was shocked, that is not the experience we had at all. Very unprofessional and conducts business in a way that disregards local and state laws. He illegally towed my vehicle, was confrontational and mocked me when I informed him there's actually laws in place (California Vehicle Code [22650 - 22711]) that he clearly disregards. He acts like a tough guy but then threatens to call 911 if you question his false sense of power. I wish he would have, as they would have put him in his place right then and there. Nevertheless, he may have gotten away with prowling through apartment complexes and towing vehicles legally parked at his discretion thus far, but this time he's going to have legal ramifications. Upon speaking to apartment management, they couldn't even answer one question or provide me with what the law requires when towing a tenant or visitors car. Just about every written law was broken by the tow company and property owner. ((5) A person who violates this subdivision is civilly liable to the owner of the vehicle or his or her agent for four times the amount of the towing and storage charges.)
