God forbids that no family members ever have to endure the emotional trauma of being in a car accident but it happened to my mother today. Roadrunner was called to tow the vehicle home. Everything was fine until the toll truck driver arrived and I noticed that it wasn't the same person as the one at the accident scene. I always hold true to my moral of being respectful and kind to others, but this toll truck driver was one of the worst customer service experience I ever had. I won't go into details about the small incidences that we had, but the biggest issue I had is when he lowered down the vehicle and missed the parking space on purpose and didn't bother correcting it after we already paid him. My family and I couldn't even push the vehicle into the parking spot because two of the wheels were broken from the accident. Luckily, we had a neighbor who was able to help us out with his own tow truck. Roadrunner, I don't know if you review your drivers, but this specific driver lacks human decency and should be consider for grounds for termination. read more

Honestly I wish I wasn't reporting how poor this service was for my family and I yesterday. We got into an accident on HWY 24 in one of the most dangerous areas possible. The car was a little less than half a mile away from the 580/980 and 80 split. The car accident happened around 2pm and that only started a series of poor customer service. We spoke with Rose, who in a 5 hour period provided false info and flat out did not care to help at all. The first call happened shortly after the accident. From there we called around 4/4:30pm to find that the driver could not find us, so I guess just gave up. Nothing communicated to my family and I, instead she waited until we called back to let us know. From there we called each hour on the hour to receive the standard and repetitive, " Yes your driver's current eta is 40-50mins." This was the answer for the next 3 hours. I completely forgot to mention that because we had been waiting in this awful spot on the freeway for that amount of time, it soon became dark and that more dangerous. Thankfully we were able to have CHP slow traffic to cautiously move to the nearest exit. The car was leaking fluids and was overall hazardous, which unfortunately makes Roadrunner's lack of customer service so much more aggravating. The moment we call again and she says the driver is 15-20mins out was incorrect and not only did we wait another 2 hours but the driver finally called and let us know that he was still 50 mins out. Now in the midst of that we were almost robbed and thankfully had family to take us to a safer area in the knick of time. Rose refused to give a last name, or employer number. Instead she made up a fake last name for herself and her supposed supervisor, Sam. This story ends with us cancelling and signing up with AAA. Only to find that the tow truck from Roadrunner arrived around 9pm. Minutes before AAA tow truck. Do better! No one should ever experience this. read more

My family got stuck on a single lane road on the side of a steep hill. After waiting for an hour for them to get back to us, AAA let us know that they couldn't find anyone to help us out. We called Roadrunner Towing, who sent Sean out to help us. Sean was right on time, and he got us unstuck really quickly. We had been really upset and scared (since we were in the middle of nowhere in an unsafe position), but Sean saved the day. Okay, I HAD to flashback to earlier this year...I am a Platinum card carrying AAA member and Robbie...tried to charge me for lock out services when I locked my keys in my car on my way to work! It was early, cold, and I was LATE! I tried to explain to him my benefits as a Platinum Member...He said, "It's coming up that you gotta pay $65!!" I said, "YOU A LIE!"....I argued with him as long as I had strength.. He would not unlock my door or accomodate me in any way...The customer service line was busy to verify my coverage and I didn't have time to wait. I griped once more as a last ditch effort before paying the fee..and he YELLED at ME!(i know right) "It's $65!!! thats the cost for everyone....blah...blah..rant, rave..mindless chatter...turning red...vein in my forehead about to explode...." and he slapped my receipt on the clipboard!.... Oh, no he didn't... Im like *tick *tick... "I'm being punked right?! LOL..." I gave him a $100 bill... he had no change, but he had an ATTITUDE....I followed him to the store...got change.... said NOTHING to this man...He gave me change....and started a sentence...actually he maybe he not was gonna start a sentence...But, he let out a breath like he was...then i went OFF! I scribbled all over the clipboard and the receipt....Called the manager and lost it! ...I called AAA verified my coverage, had a fit, got some free coupons to six flags and got reimbursed.... On the way to Natomas this morning, I got a... (dun dun DUN!) flat tire in Fairfield :O After 10 minutes on the phone with AAA, Roadrunner Towing was on its way! AAA said that they'd be there within 20 minutes, but they didn't arrive till 25 minutes later. No biggy. That's still pretty fast compared to past experiences. My knight in shining armor -- a big, saucy, bald guy with "Roach" tattooed boldly on his forearm -- came to my rescue with an old school lug wrench. I thought they had all converted to electric wrenches. It about doubled the time, but that's only 10 minutes. This incident may have thrown me off course by about an hour, but I would have to say that AAA and Roadrunner Towing did a pretty damn good job and got me back on the road ASAP, so no complaints here. read more

Roadrunner Towing saved me! I noticed something funny with my car in the morning, but it started and I drove from Sacramento to Fairfield. I went into a store, came out and my battery was completely dead! I knew something was funny that morning......... Anyhow! I was in luck! I called AAA and they told me that they had battery change service and that they would send someone out who would be there within 45 minutes. Phew...... thank goodness! Less than 10 minutes later, I got a phone call from Roadrunner's dispatch that their truck was waiting outside for me! As crappy as it can be to be in a situation needing to come to these guys, they made everything a decent experience- even after having the police tow my car after the new license plate law. However, I had talked one guy on Friday night who quoted me for 3 days for the towing and storage fee and when I got there they charged me an additional $66 than what I was quoted on the phone. They did take their time in getting the car out from the lot and back to where the person picking up their car is to meet. otherwise the staff did their jobs. read more

Camron from road runner saved me tonite, my G37 wasn't starting and after multiple failed Jumpstart attempts with other cars my insurance company put me in touch with Roadrunner Towing, the lady on the phone was super friendly and pleasant, and the truck showed up in no time ( less than 20 mins). Wow, seems like people either love 'em or hate 'em... Well, add us to this that love 'em! Stranded under the Suisun Valley overpass with my sister and our 91-year old mother in a car that couldn't be moved. AAA dispatched Roadrunner (on Memorial Day -- they were SUPER busy, of course) and they expedited service after learning that my mother was in the car. Less than an hour before the truck arrived and they only had room for two passengers because the quad cab was on another call. We could have waited for the quad cab, but decided that I had another ride arranged and the truck would take my sister and mother ALL THE WAY BACK TO SAN JOSE! No complaints from the driver AT ALL! In fact, he kept my family entertained and they listened to the Warriors game together (way to go Dubs)! THANK YOU CHRIS! He even left them with souvenir T-shitrts - hahahahaha! The man was over 40 mins late and then proceeded to have an attitude with me in an already stressful situation and he didnt properly tow my car which ended in him pulling my car onto my street with my tire dragging on ground sparking not on the lift and when i called the manager to complain he told me that because i have aaa they make nothing off the tow which was probably why the man was in a bad mood and if i had been a paying customer they would have made sure they had the correct equiptment to tow it. Experienced great service with this company! After 7 years, my car battery finally died. Not a biggie! Except I had just returned home after working outta state & was with a girl friend getting ice cream. We were just pulling into the parking lot when my steering wheel became hard to turn! We went in anyway. WOMP WOMP WOMP. Came back to a dead battery, car made that clicking noise. I called my mom to let her know & to see if she had a specific towing company she preferred. She said Roadrunner worked alongside Statefarm insurance! Which was awesome possum, since Roadrunner was able to bill my agent directly so I didn't spend a dime outta pocket (free towing up to 5 miles). The receptionist initially said a 45 minute wait for a truck to take my car, but they arrived within 20! I believe my driver was named Kevin, I lost the paper he provided with his name lol he was quick & courteous, I didn't observe him to be reckless when hooking or unhooking my car. He was nicely chatty! Providing AC on our drive. He was also able to park my car in a specific spot for me, how I like. Overall the circumstances kinda sucked to have happen during midday but Roadrunner helped me out with no hassle! Will I be using them again? I received exception service from Cameron when I called for assistance for a flat tire. My car had locks on the lug nuts, without a tool to remove the locks. Cameron figured out a way to remove the locks and quickly changed the tire. He was quick and friendly. Great experience! read more

Today my car unfortunately stopped working after an hour commute and would not turn on or turn over, I'm convinced my starter went out. Towed my car back to Fremont, CA 100 miles with no delay. He even went the extra mile and fetched me a dealership repair drop off form! Had a roadside break down with my Merecedes on I-80. My insurance company dispatched road runner towing. An hour later they still hadn't shown up. (They were based 10 miles away) I gave road runner a call and they said that they didn't have anyone to come get me so they have to cancel the call. They then hung up on me. I was pretty upset to say the least. I had to call my insurance company back up and have them redispatch another service. Pretty rude to make me wait that long without calling me and than hanging up on me when I called them. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone or any insurance roadside assistance. On December 26 around 2am my 1994 Honda Civic was stolen from in front of my house. After reporting the incident to Fairfield Police. My husband and I didn't think we would ever see it again. We had purchased the car from my husbands brother in October after my 23 yr old nephew passed away after a brief battle with leukemia. It had been my nephews car. It meant a lot to the family. Well we received a call the next afternoon that it had been recovered. The police called my husband at work in Concord and told him they were going to tow it to the yard at the cost $100.00. Plus I imagine fees to get it out. They told my husband if he came and got it towed himself that would be OK. He called me and I went to the address it was found at right away. My husband asked the police to please stay with me until tow truck came. They said they would. Well as soon as I got there and checked car for damage (which thank The Lord their was none) I signed the paper work and they left! Well looking around I realized that I was in a pretty dangerous area of Fairfield. I called my tow company through my car insurance and was told it would be over an hour wait. I was not happy with that as a few people had come out of their house and were looking at me. I was pretty scared and called another tow company they said at least 30 minutes. I said no thanks and called Roadrunner Towing. The dispatcher was very concerned for my safety and promised to have a truck there in 10 minutes. They arrived in 12 minutes! I was so thankful and relieved to see them so soon. They towed my car home and were very very kind and professional. I called back to thank the dispatcher and he actually apologized for not getting there in 10 minutes. I highly recommend them and will defiantly use only Roadrunner Tow. read more
