Imperial Solar was fair and transparent during the evaluation, and efficient and detail-oriented throughout the installation. The crew arrived on time and left the area clean. The system was installed professionally and looks excellent. Since our meter change, our bill has decreased by 80%, even during winter. We look forward to seeing our savings in the summer. We are very satisfied with Imperial Solar and highly recommend them to anyone considering a solar installation.

It's 4 year in a row now the system failed to produce the minimum guaranteed production. AWS Solar chose to compensate for the shortfall again; we'll see what the 5th year production looks like. I suggested replacing some of the panels with the higher power ones to solve the issue, but I guess they want to see more data.

However, upon completeing the job, the project manager Tim Broughton called me, helped me log on to the Enphase app so that I could monitor the panels. After I confirmed that I was logged in, I was told that I was up and running And they were done. I was happy thinking I was now running on the sun. Wrong. So very wrong. I received my electric bill and astonished to see the electric portion was over $800.00. I called the power company and was told that the $130.00 application fee had not been paid. I notified Mr. Broughton and he immediatley saw that the bill for the application fee was paid and apologized for the error. Now the fun begins. I called the power company and asked when they would be out to install the proper meter for solar panels. I was informed that no application for a meter to be installed was on file and that I had to submit an application for interconnection. Hmm? No one mentioned anything to me about completing and application or that I had to contact the power company. I completed the PTO (Permission to Operate) form and based on the questions being asked and the information I needed to provide leads me to believe the Solar company was responsible for completing this form and sending the required fee. Ok. Lets not look to for someone to blame, lets just get the proper meter installed. I completed the PTO and submitted it. The power company came out a couple of weeks later and installed the a new meter. Onlyit was not a meter for solar panels. They installed the same new meter but it was the same meter as the meter I already had. I asked them why they didn't put on a solar meter and I was told that I needed to submit a PTO for a SOLAR METER, which is different. And by the way, they have a special person that installs solar meters and a special person to install regular meters. This seemed rather stupid to me. I ask the power comapany rep for the contact info for the solar department and he told he didn't know. I won't name the power company. LADwp. The one good thing the DWP rep did upon arriving to his office was to send an email to contact the proper department at the power company. I assumed he would have just gone about his business and let me flounder. I started on the second application which asked for job site photos. This was to me another indication that the solar installer was suppose to complete this form because Joe Citizen would not know what photos they were required. I did observe that periodically, the workers would take photos, but none were ever sent to me. Now I'm in the middle of August 2026 with fingers, legs, arms, eyes and anything else, maybe the dogs and cats, crossed hoping that this time I will get a meter. The bottom line is I would still recommend AWS SOLAR to anyone, but I'd have to caution them to make sure they get you connected and ALL fees are paid. Because I was dealing with the City of LA and being constantly sent to voice mail and waiting for call backs, this experience was horrendous.

After months of waiting, I tried following up multiple times privately to give them a chance to make it right, but I am now being completely ignored. It's a shame because I have several neighbors here in Fountain Valley who are currently shopping around for solar and battery storage. Now that my project has finally been granted PTO, (after more than 3 months since "completion", and…read moreI do put that in quotes because apparently it wasn't fully completed until a few days ago), I can very honestly say that it was not a satisfactory experience having contracted my solar project with this company. Along the way, there were some work quality issues, delays in getting the application for PTO filled out correctly, (which Edison kicked back to the contractor at least twice for corrections), lack of communication from contractor, who were difficult to get a hold of- tried email, phone and text, and finally, after we finally got PTO from Edison, system wasn't working correctly and seems some very basic stuff like wiring the socket that the meter goes onto was botched. One wire was not making contact and the rest were not even stripped at the tip so that it could make appropriate contact with the socket terminals. Seems that if that had been done, we would have been able to make electricity for the month between when Edison installed the meter to the Tesla socket and we received PTO. Taking all that into consideration, we didn't get a good value for the price they charged. And yes, we did contract with this company. Jose, Larry and Matt are the employees we usually dealt with. Preston the sales agent was nice enough but if I were him, I would not push contracts with Current Energy.
