I've been going to this nail salon for years simply because it's close to my house. About 75% of the time they do a pretty good job. However they try to upsell you every time and are not very friendly when you don't buy additional services. However I did recommend them to my mother, because she just wanted to get her nails done for my son's wedding and this shop is literally around the corner from her house. Boy, was I sorry afterwards! She is an 80 year old woman and they took advantage of her. They treated her horribly. They rushed her in,failed to put tips on her nails as requested, left every nail a different length and sent her out with messy nails and still had the audacity to charge her. They took advantage of her because she was elderly. I will never go back; nor will I recommend them to anyone else ever! The lady's were so nice and I immediately go sat. I got a pedicure and gel nail set and they did it at the same time, so I wouldn't have to be there for an hour :) the owner was kindred, thanking me for coming and to come back. My nails look fabulous and I will definitely be going back. Also it's across the street from Centennial High School, so it is SO convenient for me. Just a five minute drive! read more

I get my nails done here routinely. I picked my preferred nail tech and make appointments with my favorite Lucy. She does a good job, works hard to manage ingrown nail. Also she does not try to hard sell me on upgrades for more money. Not a fancy place, but prices are better than many in the area. The owner is a nice friendly person. read more

Was in desperate need of a manicure so I decided to give this salon a try. Only had to wait about 10 mins so that wasn't too bad. My manicurist was ok she did a good job trimming my cuticles and shaping my nails, but she didn't clean under the nail at all and she did the worst thing any manicurist can do... She gave me a poor polish job. 3 of my nails had uneven coats and she left nail polish on the skin around my nail. I'm sorry but applying nail polish is cosmetology 101. They give a decent manicure minus the polish. From what I saw the guy ,Andy, and the owner, Lynn, are the definitely the best in there, so if I come here again I'll ask for one of them to do my manicure. I wanted this salon to be awesome but it was pretty much in line with their current average reviews. Aside from the language barrier between the technician and me, the quality of service was subpar. While it looked decent initially, my shellac manicure only lasted 5 days since the technician painted my cuticles. It began to peel quickly and did not take much effort to peel the entire thing off. See my picture. I am used to my shellac painting to last closer to 2 weeks. I also had a pedi, it was pretty basic. I'm still in search for an awesome salon, unfortunately this was not it. read more

I gave this place one star because leaving a negative star review wasn't an option. I went in looking for a specific technique-- I wanted my nails soaked off, a layer of acrylic dip as a base for strength and Gel Shellac applied for color. After soaking my nails off, she was adamant that my nails were strong enough to shellac alone. I argued that I didn't think they would be, but she proceeded with shellac only. At the end, I told her that they didn't feel strong enough. She argued that they were. She ran my card before she started my nails and rushed me out after. When I pointed out that my nails were paper thin and frail, she felt them and adamantly stated that they were strong. When I got home, the nails were giving under even the lightest activity. I returned the next day to request a refund, she said that I should have gotten a base coat of dip if I wanted them stronger. I argued that I had originally requested that, and she refused because she wanted to save time. I was told to come back and speak to the owner. When I returned, he gave me a refund and asked if I wanted to return the tip. I told him to leave her tip (because I'm a decent person) and refund the price of the nails. He did, then told me that I owed $10 for the take off. I refused. The tech at the second salon who fixed their shotty work had to take off, shape, and cut down my nails because of Solar Nail Salon's inattention to detail. She even asked where I got such bad service. Buyer, beware. They obviously don't care about the quality of their service or their reputation. They simply wanted to make a buck. read more

Ok so I have been going here off and on for the last 4 years. I have had some problems but never this bad. I had Andy as my technician and he rushed the whole time. I got gel nails omg he slopped paint on my nails, some nails are missing some polish some are uneven. It's bad. I was so upset I just wanted out of there. I will not go back. I will find another place. I'm going to have to spend money to get it fixed bc I don't trust them. Me being nice I still tipped well bc I'm not a mean person. They don't have enough people working and they over work who they have he even told me he was tired. So I will give my business elsewhere. It's a shame. Really wish I could post pictures bc it's bad. read more

Can I rate .5 of a star? My 1st visit to any nail place in texas and since ths is close to my new house, I was really hoping to walk out feeling good. Went in for a pedi. Asked to see the price menu and she just said no. 25, or 35. 35 does all, 25 is basic. (Whatever that even means I'll never know). So I sot on the chair and she keeps pointing to my eyebrows asking if I want wax. After the 3rd no, i just said yes and they brought the wax out to the pedi chair and did my brows all from the same side of the chair, no mirror follow up, no tweezer. Then does my lip without even asking.. not to mention dropping wax on me. Then provides a mirror and there was wax all over my face. And I was just like whatever. So they didnt clean it off then started the pedi. It was all done within about 15 minutes and it was weird. She used the same bottle of oil on my legs as on my heels for the extremely brief callous removal. The .5 would be for.. maybe the massage chair? I wont be back and I'm really sad about it too :( forgot to mention the pardon wax was cold..didnt even "dry" to my feet .. although it wasn't even on there long enough to do so even if it was warm. read more

this place was AWFUL!!!!!!!!!! absolutely AWFUL!!!!!! I go to get my nails done today with a friend and while I'm waiting they pull someone in front of me who had arrived AFTER I had; I was okay with that it was one person and she was getting a pedicure and I wanted just a manicure. Then, ANOTHER person who had arrived after I had got pulled in front of me but she was getting just a manicure. While I'm seeing this happen one of their employees tells me, not asks TELLS me, to get out of the chair I was sitting in because he needs it for his customer, the one who walked in after I had. I normally don't EVER do these review things but this is the WORST customer service I have ever had. I don't want other people to have this happen to them. This place was awful!! read more

I experience great customer service every time I go. They have a clean place & a nice selection for colored powders. I enjoy walking straight in & Andy greeting me. They are open 7 days a week & I've been going for 5 months. They also have beverages & my solar nails always last over 2 weeks without needing a fill. give them a try, I'm a loyal customer there & you can be too. read more

When I went initially i would have rated it a 5 stars, pita is amazing he is worth 5 stars. Today, I went it because I had an accident and it lead me to breaking one of my nails, one gentleman ho or hon I believe his name is... greeted me and "fixed" my nail... he just wanted me out of there, he didn't even try to find the matching color... all of my other nails have glitter, the one nail does not. He didn't care, so I'll be waking around with a nail that's mismatched and not properly done, it looks terrible. He basically just told me to come back when the other guy was there. If you are considering this place only work with Pita he has great customer service skills and does great work, I wouldn't recommend going there if you aren't using him. read more

I do not think these people went to this place I have never had a bad experience there Andy always does my nails and the owner Lynn will come in early to do your nails no other places do that and every other place I gotten my solar nails done they get the pink powder on the white tips and vis versa they are the best priced as well and my feet always leave smooth and polished perfectly I don't know y'alls expectations but mine are always met at solar nail on renfro next to anytime fitness they do take appointments if needed read more
