I've been going here for years and have always been happy with the service and care I receive. The ladies are all super sweet and do great gel and dip mani/pedis at an affordable price. Huge selection of colors for both services and they can do cute designs as well! They also do eyebrow waxes, so it's like a one stop shop when I need a relaxing day of pampering. Sometimes there can be a little bit of a wait especially peak hours in the summer but they'll let you know. They've taken all the COVID precautions during the pandemic, including requiring masks for both staff & customers, plexiglass barriers at each station, and sanitizing between customers. I really like this nail salon. I have been here twice so far. The quality of the manicures are really good. There is a large color selection and both times I went there was little wait time. The people who work there are friendly and listen to what you would like to have done. I personally think the prices are a bit high, but this is right near my apartment so I will probably come back again once they re open. I have been here three times. The first time was for a waxing and it wasn't an overly pleasant experience. This was one of the few salons that doesn't take you back to a private waxing room and instead has you sitting out in the open. The lady who did my waxing did a good job but there was another lady watching the entire time and it eventually got a bit uncomfortable. The second time I went in to get my nails done for a cocktail party and they turned out great and I was very pleased. I ended up with acrylics because I had badly broken my previously all-natural nails a few days before. I always bring in my own OPI polishes when I get my nails done so I can't testify as to how good their in-store polish selection was, but the girl next to me was getting nail art done and it turned out really cute! I went in a third time to get my nails removed after the cocktail party and that went well too. Overall, if I need acrylics/gels done I will go there but I will stick with Nancy's Salon for my waxing. read more

Then when I asked to just take my colors off and let them know I didn't want any further service, they started asking questions as to why. They asked me to move 3 times as if they were about to give me service which they didn't. If you are an established or established looking person, you'll probably get ok service. I can't believe that I went more than half of my adult life having not ever experienced this creature comfort! I have been going to Solar Nails mainly once a month for over 9 years now. I get a pedicure, manicure and a haircut on most visits. I have always felt pampered and appreciated every time I have visited. The staff speak limited English, but they are able to understand and communicate well enough your needs in a pleasant and friendly manner. The shop is always very clean and the staff are very prompt about cleaning their space & there hands after every customer they handle. They always wear gloves & there tools are always stored in sterilized bags before they begin your service. I always call ahead & make an appointment & never have had to wait more than a few minutes to be attended too! I love this place, I don't know why there aren't many reviews. They have a wide variety of gel and solar colors. I usually get acrylic nails with gel polish, this time I got the solar full set and a pedicure. They turned out great! The solar powder kind of burned because I have sensitive nails, but they fixed it right away. If you have sensitive nails I would recommend the gel over solar. The deluxe pedicure is an absolute treat. I got there at 7pm and they stayed late for me which is definitely a plus! read more

I went last night to get my nails done. The woman who did my nails painted them like a school age child did. The nails are flat and have no shape, glue under my nails, paint on the sides, the gold lines on the nails aren't even straight and the pinky nail is shorter than the other nails. I've been coming here for a while with my sister and have never had my nails done like this. I've gotten criticized since I've gotten them done. My husband and my co-workers said they look horrible. Went to this nail shop because I had spare time and I was in this area I looked them up on google. The nail tech did a great job. They had a sign posted that said we accept all competitors coupons. I was excited. I got on my phone, found a nail shop near that had a coupon online and told her that I had a coupon because I had read the sign. She said okay. I got gel dip powder on my nails and my toes painted to match. My total bill was $47. The coupon stated that it was $15.00 off any service over $30 for first time visitors. When she told me how much I owed her, I showed her the coupon. She immediately stated yelling at the manager in her native language. The manager came over and let me know that they weren't accepting coupons that day. Even though the sign stated that they accept (ALL) competitors and this coupon did not have any days excluded. So I asked her why didn't the nail tech tell me that they weren't accepting coupons when I went through this conversation with her earlier. I then realized that they didn't want to take the coupon because it was $15 off of my service. She told me that the most she could give me off was $5. I would never go back to this place nor recommend that you go. In order to be a good business, you have to be upstanding and a place that stands by your word. If the sign is printed on the window that says you accept ALL competitors coupons then that is what you must do. read more

This place is conveniently down the street from my house, so I wanted to find a new place. They got me in right away even though they were busy, which is nice. I got the dipping powder with a manicure and the deluxe pedicure because it was on special for $30. I knew I was going to need a tip on my nail due to my natural nail being short. I told the lady multiple times that I needed short nails because I can't have long nails at work. She proceeds to tell me that they are short, even though I know they could be shorter. She finishes with my dip, but I never received a manicure, even after reminding her that's what I wanted. I then wait about 15 minutes for a pedicure chair, which is fine because they were a little busier at this point. I would give the pedicure a 2 out of 5. She used the grater on my feet for about 20 seconds and the pumice stone for about the same amount of time. She then starts painting my toes and I sit there for about 20 minutes, thinking the nail polish would be dry, but no it was not. I tell her and she got mad that I messed it up. I asked for the dry spray because I needed to leave. Needless to say I'm siting on my bed now and the nail polish is just rubbing off on my toes. Solar Nails regular price for a standard/ basic pedi is $22 but if you go on Mon thru Wed, there's a special for $19.99. It says so on the sign outdoors before entering and even though it says to show student ID, even when you're not a student, Adults can still cash in on this special. My prob with them is that when time to pay, I was charged on my card for $20 and not the $19.99 as clearly advertised on the window. Regardless, of whether its 1 cent or $1 you owe a customer, you should still offer the change because by right it's your own no matter how little or large the difference is. Don't assume a customer won't accept/ be grateful to receive their change because it gives a customer an idea on how honest and professional that business conducts itself!! Am I wrong? Apart from price issues, it's a good place in regards to pricing for an affordable and decent pedi. They're not too positive with their attitude -when the lady worked on me, she was not only mumbling in her own language to the other women working there but she complained how tired she was whilst working on my feet. This was a complete turnoff for me because the customer beside me didn't have that prob and also she as well as other customers in the salon gave me stares because one could tell that the lady working on my feet were talking what I assume to be terrible stuff maybe about me in her own language to the other staff working in the salon. Each time there are never enough employees to handle their clientele so if you're in a hurry would not recommend going here the wait is not worth it while they do a complete set of nails or a pedicure I've never seen them wash their hands after a client . If you want to be pampered don't go here because they do a rush job while you're getting a pedicure they're doing your nails so you don't get a chance to take a moment and relax. There is only one lady who can wax eyebrows and she is not very good at all.
