Worst experience ever , was charged 1300$ for a custom install and wasn't even completed

Tinted my truck here with ceramic and spent $600 in total. I was told the tint had life time warranty. I like the job that was done and not only did I recommend 1 person but 2 people I knew to solar pro tint. They also got their tint done here. My back left window tint started coming off and I went to get it replaced. It was fixed. I sadly had to go back a second time because that ceramic tint that was put on my left back side started coming off again. I had no worries and I knew I would get my moneys worth because of the supposedly, " life time warranty". When I went back for the second time for the same back window the guy there was able to pull up all the receipts and match my truck to make sure it was the same one. The tint was not on the window anymore of course because it was not placed right to begin with. I was told that they can't replace the tint because there isn't a tint there!! If there was a tint there I wouldn't need to replace it in the first place. My right windows tint started coming off from the top and was told that they could replace that one because the tint was there. How does that make sense??! It's hard to find a shop with people you can trust. That is not the case with Solar pro tint, They are very knowledgeable on the products they provide and very welcoming and friendly. I went in for an alarm and remote start install, from talking to them on the phone to the moment I stepped in to their shop I felt comfortable and I knew I was in good hands. They have answered all my questions and walked me through how my alarm works. I will definitely be back for tint and sound system install. read more

These guys are a F'n rip off! Meet a guy name lea from the flea market and it was a Sunday so he told me he couldn't do my car right then but I can come during the week to "SOLAR PRO TINT" on 218 west little York. So I came he hooked my radio I bought up and my back up camera, when he finished (I guess he thght I wasn't gon check) but my radio wasn't working for the local stations and he said oh you need an antenna part I said ok, I turned the car off to go inside and pay I noticed the radio did not turn off! N I was like the radio don't turn off he said I got it hooked up like that because you need another part and I was like ok so how much is it gonna be? $180 something mind you it was a $80 job before all of this... so I pay he said give him til Monday the parts will be in... I texted him dec 12,2019 to see if my parts came in, no reply he claims his phone is messed up so I popped up on him today's looked surprised and asked if I called I said no, I jus came... long story short I been up her for like 3 hours and Iim like wtf taking so long so I go out side and my hood up door open car running heat blasting, so I sit in the back seat (and I kid you not I scared df out of him) he didn't see me. So he goes on to explain that something is wrong with my radio the touch screen is messed up and this that and the other... and I told him nothing was wrong with the radio this so the second time it has blown a fuse and went out so I just left it like that and never changed it because I knew I was going to "Solar Pro Tint" where LEO originally installed my radio. So now I'm asking for his manger and Leo said you made the deal with me, I tell him to get out get out my car and I got out behind him let my hood down and locked my doors and went back inside and asked who is the manger for the radio installations, a guy said he was... so I began to attempt to explain my self and I say ATTEMPT because I still couldn't get a word out. And he said you mad the deal with LEO and I said I KNOW BUT IM ON YOUR PROPERTY, MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT AFTER EVERYTHING Leo offered to give me another radio and I saw what it was and the kind it was I declined and jus told home to refund me my money, he gave me $140 and that was that. I went and got the higher end Sound system installed and they charged me over 2000 which ain't bad it it's top of the line the problem is that I had been hearing thump sound from my bass no more than the following day and I was already going out of town so i couldn't go back . Well a few weeks later it got worse and eventually no sound. I took it to an audio place in Baton Rouge and the place in baton rouge was a profesional shop ..they checked it and the diagnosis was that one amp was out and another part. I had to pay them 1400 but they fixed it and not only did they fixed it they showed me the all the rewiring that had to be redone because the one in Houston put cheap cables and they were the cause for the static and thump sounds also they mounted the amps on the back of the truck vs solar pro tint who just put them in the bottom rear seat on the floor and they fixed the ground by installing a ground wire from the battery to the body. Also they put profesional holes where the ground could be screwed vs solar pro tint that put 3 sheet rock screws straight in to the body of the truck to secure the ground and last but not least they showed me where solar pro tint cut off the tweeters and never hooked them back up and after all was done they showed me the sound and it was a huge difference I could even hear Siri from my iPhone maps around the truck and before that with solar pro tint installation I could only hear Siri on one speaker on the rear driver side. this place is trash i wouldn't recommend them if your were on a budget . the daughter doesn'tknow anything about a car alarm nor music.. i brought my truck there to get a alarm and the alarm is trash just as " solar pro tint" my alarm has a mind of it own and the remote start gone to tear my starter up because it doe'nt start my truck , it sound like my starter being tap . the only excuse the bullshit daughter gives is my truck is old (2001 gtfo here ) when i boughtthe alarm she played nice and talked english , but once i brought it back a 3rd time she wants to talk spanish to her master (dad) and then he come outside like he about to tell me something different than his daughter . i usually take shit in my own hands but in order for me to change and become a better father i had to start thinking and moving diffrerent , but know ya'll will get your karama !!!!!!!!!! read more

Left one star bc it's the minimum, I had a build I was working on 2 12" orion hcca's a ct sound 4000 watts the old school ones that I had recently refurbished 100% at sst radio in wich I do recommend. I took my truck left it for 2 full days, I wanted my doors re-wired and also just wanted them to reconnect my bass, on the second day after seeing them post my truck on Instagram I said "okay they must be done" i got a call that it was ready. I went to check it out and every time the bass would hit they said it smelled like burnt and blamed it on my subs but I had already used the subs and never did they throw that wiff out, within an hour I was listening to music and my amp began to pop and burn up, I disconnected it, the following day I took it back and they said everything was fine and wanted to blame the shortage on my power but I had everything right for the bang it was pushing. I asked what can be done they replied nothing, because they only warranty the install, I went home and decided to check my door speakers, never did they rewire my doors, and my subwoofer one of them they did not connect it the right way wich ultimately made a short once the wire touched the metal part of the sub. I still went back within the 30 days brought it up to the girl on the front desk and she said they couldn't do nothing not even return me my money they did not do anything that I asked for but put one small fuse for all the appliances that I had running inside the cab, 300+ dollars gone down the drain with them bad service I spoke to the Jose who runs that store and said the same thing I took in old stuff when I had clearly told them everything was A1 I do not recommend them at all, their installer "boricua" does not know what he is doing. Excellent shop to install your car stereo, Tint or Car alarm. I was here 10 years ago but, their price have not change. Everything is so affordable that sometimes you wonder How They make profit. They charge only $25.00 labor to install a radio I brought in plus $20.00 harness. read more

This service is poor as hell. Inbrought my car for tint in at 1 pm and they told me one hour and 45 minutes. At 5:41 I came to get my car and it still wasn't ready. The young man that was doing the tint just had no respect for people time at all. read more
