Sought out the company at a home show. Was greeted by Dave Muncy and talked with him. Made appointment for a rep to provide further information at a future date. Spoke with no one specifically with the company until the home appointment. Several items in my opinion were overlooked in the presentation. 1. I understand the safety and hibernation benefits (although time will tell if they are accurate), but from an aesthetic standpoint, it is not at all what I had anticipated. Partial coverage of the boulders and the draping over the negative edge make the cover look as if it is not completed and downright ugly. At no time did I see photos (the claim made by the sales rep). If I would have known it was going to that unattractive, I would have declined project. 2. Never was there any mention of the warranty being contingent on the periodic treatment of the cover with some restorative/preventive product to clean and supposedly protect. Only in reading the final handout provided by the installers was I aware, and was informed that it is a service available for a fee from the company......... 3. Prompt response to my concerns was lacking. After the follow up visit by the company, I waited a week and only received a call back because I reached out to the company. Was then told in so many terms that there is nothing that can be done unless I pony up more cash. In no way can I endorse that as quality customer service. Installers were respectful of the property, but as far a job well done, not so much. We were informed by the sales rep at his follow up visit that the installers were to provide further detail as to the process and look of the cover prior to starting. Both my wife and I were here and are not aware that anything related to the process was explained, otherwise we would have raised questions prior to the start. My concerns related to what I considered inadequate workmanship at the final walk through were pretty much dismissed and not addressed. I cannot endorse and or recommend your company. Feel mislead, am disappointed in the overall product, and am less than impressed with the level of information provided in the sales presentation and customer service follow up to address concerns. read more

We had a serious Africanized bee problem overtaking our swimming pool. Bee keepers were not able to resolve the problem. It was suggested we put a cover on our pool. We called Solar Safe and after looking over the product we decided to have have the cover installed. They arrived on the scheduled date and custom fitted our 38x15 pool with a water feature in one day. The quality of the material and workmanship is execellent. The best news the bees were gone in two days since their source of water was taken away. Now we can go out into backyard and enjoy our pool. Another perk was we don't have worry about our dog or other wildlife drowning in our pool. You can walk across the pool and it feels like a giant waterbed. We hate your product. We were told the product was of highest quality and taking it off the pool was a piece of cake; it is neither. The material is rigid and not as pliable as sold. A whitish/grey crust forms on the top so it gathers dirt and appears unsanitary quickly and it looks terrible. Solar Safe claims they forewarned us about this, but they did not, but they now inform me that if I want to crawl around and scrub it with vinegar, it will help...nice. Taking the pieces off is a hassle, rolling it up and storing it is a hassle and we need to routinely pressure wash it, which is also a hassle. We deeply regret buying your product and certainly won't recommend it to anyone. When I voiced my concerns to the owner of Solar Safe, he did nothing more than tell me how wonderful his product is and that other customers love the product so I should too. read more

It is really important to read all the negative reviews before you buy the product. We experienced the same algae problems as other negative reviews. We have had our pool for more than 4 years and never had any algae problems before we had the pool cover instalIed. It has been a month since we removed the pool cover, and we are still dealing with the algae problems after shocking the pool several times. So we can't even enjoy our pool. The little bit of money we saved on electricity, and much more, was used to buy the shock and chemicals (and it may be more). Don't even bother to talk to the company because they got your money. The pool cover is extremely heavy, and you need several men to remove it. The salesman told us that we 'can' turn off the pump while the cover is on but the owner says that the manual says it 'must' be off. But when we consulted the pool company that installed our pool said that we need to turn it on to keep the pool clean since these covers are not 100% sealed therefore the debris, dust, etc can still sip inside of the pool. Anyway, we have no plan to put the pool cover back on. What a waste of money. read more

We decided to get a pool cover for several reasons. First we travel a lot and it made sense to keep the pool covered while away. Second, We have a lot of critters and it helps keep them out of the pool, don't like the idea of swimming in water that has dead rodents in it, and it keeps a lot of tree debris out. Third, with the Arizona sun and heat it only makes sense to keep it covered when you can to keep down on the water loss and pool chemicals. Forth a longer swimming season. The only issue I see is storage of the cover. We have a large pool and folding it up can be a challenge, but that's only after one try, I'm sure it get easier with time. read more

On Friday Nov 17 I was to have my pool cover cleaned . The company sent over a Hispanic cleaning guy who put a solution on the cover sprayed water in the sunken area while using a pool brush and vacuum he brushed off most of the superficial dirt and siphoned the water and some dirt off the cover. I noticed he was sweating profusely and had to take a breath every 1-2 minutes of brushing indicating he was out of shape. after about 20 minutes he stated to me that he wasn't going to be able to get all the stains out. I asked "really" ? I promptly went into the home and picked up a sponge, came out and lightly went over a small area that was suppositly stained and the dirt came right off. the cleaning guy looked at me and stated he wasn't going to get down on his hands and knees. I stated back that for $ 475.00 if he didn't I wasn't going to pay him. He told he he would then finish the sunken area and leave. I stated that that was fine! I would describe that as "VERY POOR CUSTOMER MAINTENANCE SERVICE" !! Covers are great however u may be better off cleaning them yourself! read more

Rip Off. Bought one in 2013 for $2400 and told it would last 8 to 9 years. Only used it for monsoon season, 3 or 4 months a year and stored it the rest of the year. Called and told them situation and was told I could buy a new one with my discount for $2800, What a deal! Falls apart after 20 months of use and I can pay $400 more for a new one. Buy a cover for $200 and weight it down with blocks and save yourself big bucks. They even charge you almost $50 a bottle for conditioner when you do store it. read more

Being a native Arizonan living through monsoons, storms and leaf dropping we were tired of cleaning our pool constantly. So we reviewed all the options we could for a pool cover from Nets, Mesh and Solid covers. We asked for quotes from companies locally and out-of-state for all three options. After receiving all the quotes locally and out-of-state, Solar Pool Safe Covers may not have been the lowest bidder but were very competitive. We also felt that using the lowest bidder increased the risk of safety for our 6 year old child and 13 year old dog. Working with a company locally operated was excellent to work with and they were very detailed in their explanation of the product and quote. We scheduled the installation in early August and they came out a week later to install. Their crew came to our house, cut and installed the cover onsite. To date this cover looks great and we got what we expected. The cover protects against the weather , keeps the summer and winter leaves out of the pool. Since it's a "solid" pool cover the reduction in adding water, chemicals and running the pool pump has cut our costs down significantly. During the winter months we run the pump a couple hours a week have not added chemicals since we covered it for the winter. All tests to date show the pH and Chlorine levels perfect with no requirement to add addition water. We ran the numbers for the overall cost of having this cover and found that payback to us was almost 2.5 years. With the products warranty this more than covers the cost of the cover. We recently moved into this house eight months ago, and knew we needed a pool cover, due to the leaves and trees getting into the pool. We finally settled for Solar Safe, and I was very pleased with the men that came out and made the pool cover to fit our odd shaped design. That evening the monsoon hit, and the pool cover did a fairly good job of protecting, but the dirt and debris still got in the pool, I think it could have been a lot worse without the cover. Sadly, more rain and wind came and the pool cover got it's work cut out, we now have to clean the covers and dry them to put back over the pool to have protection. In the meantime the pool needs a lot of attention before putting back the covers. Thank you mother nature, but the cover did help for the most part! read more

When the installers came to install the cover, they didn't really explain how to use it in details. So that evening, we tried to cover our pool, it sank. We also noticed that there were scratches around the anchors; some of our (newly installed) travertine were damaged as well. They were responsive when we called and a team came the following week to fix it. They said, the scratches happened when the bolts were putting in. Since the cover sank when we had tried to put it on the pool, we had never used the drill to put the bolts it. So the scratches happen when they did the installation. They did attempt to buff out the damaged travertines and the scratches, but they are still visible. At the same time, they did demo how to lay/remove the cover, since we asked them about it. A month after installation, the power drill they gave us broke. The 2nd time we used the pump (that they gave us), it wasn't working either. Though we are somewhat glad to have the cover, not sure if the cost justifies the product. read more

Does NOT do what they promise. I bought a Solar Safe pool cover in 2016. I told the salesman that I wanted to save money by not having to pay for any pool maintenance for many years - if ever. I no longer use my pool, but because of HOA restrictions, I cannot just empty it. On Solar Safe's website, they bragged about a pool being covered with their product for 8 years and looking like new when the cover was removed. I happen to have a neighbor who provides pool service so I asked him to check that my water was still okay. When I saw that the water was completely green, I had to have my pool drained and refilled and had to purchase expensive new equipment that I had expected to not need with the Solar Safe pool cover. I asked Solar Safe's Customer Service manager for my money back. To this date, I have been ignored. This was a very expensive endeavor. I would definitely NOT recommend this company and product if you want to permanently "hibernate" your pool. read more

We purchased our Solar Safe Pool Cover in May 2013. The first two years, it was gorgeous and did exactly as promised. Starting in the third year, it became very obvious that the cover was made from two separate bolts (although assured they never do that) because all but one panel (the one in the sun the most) started to discolor and now we have water seeping in from various places on the cover. I no longer believe it to be safe for our grandchildren and the company has advised we must pay them nearly 50% of the original cost (5 year warranty, but limited and very much in favor of the company from the third year on), which was quite high for our 25' x 12' pool, to replace what is clearly a defective product. Jeff is a great guy, but frankly I would never recommend this product to anyone based on the way we have been treated by them. read more
