I have been a customer of Solar Solutions since my college days, when Sheldon was around and when Bruno and his lovely wife brought solar solution to new heights. I've brought all my family cars to them. Referred my friends and family and also recently a Tesla Highlander. Bruno works really fast, they use suntek film which is top notch film, lifetime warranty. Just treat windows with car and never had a problem. I believe each window is laser cut for perfect size film for your vehicle. Appointments are easily booked, show up and relax in their waiting area with drinks and snacks! Definitely a great upgrade from the Bedford location and closer to me which is a plus! I wish I could give a better review but one of my windows had what they said was a small tear. I went to have them fix it and they pointed out 2 more little tears and told me that it was caused by my seatbelt. After letting go of my seatbelt probably 50 times, there is no way that they could have been caused by my seatbelt hitting the window. They told me to not roll down my window for 3-5 days and I purposely waited approximately 10 days so I know it wasn't caused by that. I feel like I got duped on this one. read more

I was referred by my girlfriend about this place when she came here 7-8 years ago to get her windows tinted and I am glad I came here. Not only the prices are fair but the quality of his work is top notch perfect! The waiting was only 45-50mins long. They had two types of films and I went with the regular carbon look, because I was aiming more towards the darkness of the film. It took about 3 minutes to discuss the tint percentages, a little over an hour for the installation and 3 minutes to pay by cc and fill out the warranty information. The pricing was competitive and there are no weird fees or anything. The tint came out perfectly and I couldn't be happier with it. So I had to get my tints redone because it didn't pass emissions. Apparently, the guy from Best Buy who installed it for me told me that it was 35%, turns out to be 14% from the emission inspector. What a waste of money. If you're asking why don't I just go back to BB and have them fix it. Well, that was in another state when I got it done so it wouldn't work here in MA. Anyways, I searched online for a tint place and this place popped up. I went ahead and made a reservation. The price that was given to me was: To remove tint from window: $20 per window To install tint on window: $40 per window When I was looking for this place, I wasn't able to find it. So I called and they told me it is a white residential looking building with a big parking lot. After they told me this, I became immediately skeptical about this place. The place was a bit small, but the work didn't take too long so I didn't mind. In the end, the work was excellent compared to the guy from Best Buy. It just looked more professional. I believe that the guy from BB didn't have much experience installing the tints. I have been wanting to get my windows tinted for a long time. I drive a black/black Mazda6, and I've seen a few with tints, and thought it looked nice. So, I put it down somewhere near the end of my list of priorities, cause I hadn't paid my car off at that point, and thought it too frivolous to get my windows tinted. Now that I've paid my car off, and need to put a little love into it, to make it feel 'new' again, I decided to get them done. I asked for a recommendation from my boyfriend who has a bizarre wealth of knowledge when it comes to cars, he said he knew one place was really good, not only had his cousin gone there, but he knew that almost all the Troopers bring their cars there for tints. We spoke about it in the summer and then I promptly forgot it was something I wanted to do. After brunch the other day he asked if it was still something I wanted to do, made a call and set up an appointment for the next day- and got a price over the phone! I had always assumed that since it was like accessorizing your vehicle it would be stupid expensive. I got my car done for only $190.--! It was admittedly a little hard to find the place. I don't often go places in Bedford, and though it's a garage, it's set back a ways from the street behind a large white house. I am pretty sure that without a GPS I would've been circling the block forever... The lady my boyfriend had set the appointment with was there, and there was one guy applying the tints. I waited a few minutes before he pulled my car in, and then I was ready to go. Filled out a few forms, double checked the shade I wanted (I got the legal tint all the way around) and she set me up with the flatscreen a couch to myself, and told me it wouldn't be that long. I asked that the guy save my parking sticker if possible, and then chilled out for a little less than an hour. My window buttons were covered by little stickers reminding me "not to roll down or wash for 3-5 days please!" and I was ready to go. My ride looks SWEEEEET now! So pimp! I am so pleased with the work that these guys did. The price was just what I was hoping to pay, and I have new found appreciation for the look of my car! Never tinted my windows before but I had to for my SUV because the factory windows had 0% tint, which means anybody from a mile away could see what the inside of my trunk looks like.. With that said, I believe they did a pretty solid job. Receptionist gave me all the info I needed and offered to tint my rear/trunk window darker than the rest. There's a lifetime warranty and they'll give you a "discount" if you say you'll pay cash ahead of time. read more

Overall: Fast good solid service and good price! Made an appointment during lunch. I am not familiar with the Bedford area and the shop was a little bit hard to find. It's in a residential area. Do a map search before heading out so you don't get lost. They were helpful in helping me decided what grade of tint for my car and explaining the legal laws in Massachusetts. I'm from California and there are tons of laws in MA!! I dropped off my car and was able to wait for it in the shop. They were able to tint 5 windows in less than 50 minutes. Super fast. You cannot roll down your window for 3 days and they put these nice stickers covering your window button to remind you. What a nice touch. After a few days I noticed a bubble in my tint. Called to schedule tinting for 5 windows on my 2010 Subaru Legacy and they were booked out just under a week. Received a confirmation call the day before my appointment. I got my 2006 Maxima tinted here two years ago. It is a small operation, very personal. The shop is clean and well organized. I made an appointment, dropped off the car at the specified time, car was completed as promised. Two years later, the tint still looks great. They do very nice work, the tint goes almost all the way to the edge of the windows, back window is one piece too so there are no gaps in the middle of the window. I had my Z4 tinted at the dealership where I bought it, Solar Solutions does a MUCH better job. I will be bringing all my future vehicles to SS from now on. read more

Had my 5 door VW GOLF TDI Hatchback tinted here after reading many good reviews and seeing 35% (legal) on a friends GTI. Looked GREAT. Got an appointment for a weekday afternoon no problem. I was about 15 mins late, and called they said no problem just get here and we will take care of you. Place wasn't hard to find, they have signage on the road you have to look for. Started working on the car right away, while I worked on their wi-fi in their nice little waiting room. Got to see the whole process start to finish, did 35% on side windows and 18% on the back window and small rear windows. Looks amazing, cured in a matter of days and NO FLAWS WHATSOEVER. They applied the tint very professionally, gave me a lifetime warranty on the tint and seriously the cutting job around the rear window is superb which is a tough area. *Side note they have a wall preview of the degrees of tint they do and are very informative and know the laws in MA. Also, in order for cops to check the tint on a window they window has to be able to be ROLLED DOWN. So small side windows and rear windows you can go a lil darker and it looks killer. read more

I moved here from Las Vegas and of course, my car came from Vegas too, and I had some really dark tints on the car. Dark tints are a norm in Las Vegas. Well, when it was time to register my car and get an inspection sticker here in Massachusetts, I was told the tint on the windows was too dark and that it would never pass inspection unless I remove the dark tint. And that is what I did. I searched online and found a couple of places that removed tint. I decided to call this place because it was close to my house. I called on a Friday afternoon and asked if I could come in the next morning. My appointment was set at 10 am but I got there earlier than that. There was already a customer there getting his windows tinted. They took my car in immediately and started the process of removing the tint. I think the whole process took less than an hour to remove tint from all four side windows and the rear window. I was so pleased with the job that I scheduled an appointment for a few weeks later to have tint put back on the windows, but this time it was a lighter tint that would pass Massachusetts inspection. That appointment was scheduled for 9 am on a Saturday, and the day before, they called me to confirm the appointment. I arrived at 9 am and once again there was already a customer there getting tint put on his windows. They took my car in and started the process and this time it took a little over an hour to get all four side windows and rear window tinted. It's been a couple weeks since I've gotten the windows tinted and I am pretty pleased with the results. read more

Outstanding work at a very fair price. Looking for someone to apply window tint to my 2013 Ford Fusion, I found Solar Solutions on Yelp. Called and made an appointment for the following week to have the work done while I waited. The whole experience was outstanding from start to finish. They called the day before my appointment to confirm the time. When I arrived we walked through the options for how dark to tint the windows. I picked a 35% tint which was the lightest they had, but the darkest that's legal in Massachusetts. They use only top-quality 3M materials that come with a lifetime warranty against adhesive failure, peeling, delaminization, and fading. I did ask about darker tints, which they offer if you want to gamble and which might have looked even better than the 35% on my bright white car. But I decided that there was too much risk of failing inspection if the shop actually measures light transmission, as Solar Solutions warned me some of them do. I appreciated having the choice and all the information, though. The whole job took a couple of hours and was done while I waited, taking advantage of their wifi to get some work done. They cautioned me not to open the windows for 3 days or so and placed stickers over the window switches in the front seat as a reminder. They also said to watch for any tiny moisture bubbles between the window and the film, and if they didn't disappear within two weeks bring the car back to have that window re-done. Fortunately I didn't have to do that. The car looks fantastic and has been much more comfortable on the heat summer days. Great job overall. read more

Decided to finally tint my windows after continously putting it off and I must say, I really chose the right place. My appointment was on a Saturday at about 8am. I arrived at the location using my GPS (there's a sign with their name on it, in case you get lost). The lady that helped me was very friendly and within ten minutes, my car was being worked on. I chose to stick to the MA legal tint limit and although I had my doubts in the beginning, it looks amazing now that the film has cured. The film is cut perfectly and I have yet to find any bubbles within any windows. I was told not to roll down my windows or clean them for the first few days after the tinting is done. I've definitely followed these instructions. With that being said, I really appreciated the fact that the staff placed a bright green sticker on top of the window buttons as a reminder. The tint job was done in an hour and the one thing I couldn't help but notice was how detail-oriented the staff was. Initially charged 180 dollars, you get 10 dollars off if you pay cash instead. They're friendly, they're reasonably priced, and they're great at their job. I plan on bringing all my tinting needs to Solar Solutions and pass along the word to my friends! read more

It took them about an hour to tint the car and it looks absolutely great. The film is perfect and they are very nice and professional. I had shopped around all over Greater Boston, and thanks to Julia F's review of Solar Solutions, I decided contact them. They were $60 cheaper than a competitor located in Medford. The entire process took just about an hour. The shop was clean, and they did an outstanding job!, it looks incredible! Note: It's in a residential neighborhood, only a few minutes off of rt 128/95. If coming from rt 128, it's on the lefthand side at this 3 way intersection on South Road. There's a couple of businesses located in this large White Colonial. Bruno and Danielle are very friendly and the work was done quickly and professionally in a clean workshop and waiting area! I had my 2013 Honda Fit tinted to 35% (MA legal limit) and it came out amazing. Both Danielle and Bruno offered excellent guidance and recommendation on tinting. It's recommended not operating your windows for 3 to 5 days after the tint to give the film time to cure. When I had mine done in Aug 2013, they used Suntek CXP carbon film...a very high quality film that doesn't interfere with radio/phone reception like some metallic films. Their prices were about $70 cheaper than others in the eastern MA area. I actually traveled about an hour to the shop, but would do it again in a heartbeat if I need another vehicle tinted. Their shop is a bit difficult to find since it's set back off of the road on a three way intersection. They do have a small blue sign up at the end of the driveway, it's at the intersection at South Rd and Summer St...just look for the row of mailboxes contained in a little house like structure. read more
