The staff here are friendly, down-to-earth, and incredibly knowledgeable. Whether you're new to firearms or experienced, they treat you with respect and patience. No attitude, no pressure -- just solid advice and great service. One of the biggest standouts? They're the only shop in the area that does PPTs (private party transfers) on Saturdays -- and not just for an hour or two. They offer it throughout most of their business hours, which is a huge plus for people who work weekdays and need a weekend option. That alone makes them worth the drive. Their inventory is well-curated with high-quality firearms, optics, and gear. The place is clean, organized, and just has a good vibe overall. You don't feel rushed or talked down to -- they actually listen to what you're looking for and help you find the right setup. Made my last couple purchases for 2016 and I got to say drew and ryan were extremely helpful in my last 3 rifles. The lines were long but it was the end of the year rush. Lots of people I see have been complaining about the wait but hey, it's the end of the year craze. You got to give the guys some slack as they pay attention to the person they are helping. On another note directed at george, I find ur review hard to believe. I've been going to solar for years (i live in sacramento btw) and the staff has always been awesome. Prices fluctuate depending on political climate and distributor discretion. If you think you paid too much, then don't buy at the last minute. I went into this store for the first time back in February to buy an AR and had a great experience. Friendly and knowledgable staff. I hadn't been back since then. Made a phone call the end of July to see if they had a CZ75sp01 and they had 4 left. Went down and when I walked in the door, they remembered me. Impressive! I bought the CZ on the spot. Looked at a few other pistols and as always they were very patience showing me what ever I wanted to see and sharing info on every one. Props to Matt and Andrew. The amount of professionalism and downright Expertise in this shop amazes me. Matt Joe,and Jeff are Top notch. Take the time and make the drive out to the Solar shop. It is in your best interest to do your gun shopping here. The staff here are very polite and do not give off that condescending attitude that is so prevalent in most shops. I witnessed this when I was behind a particularly difficult customer who thought he was exempt from the waiting period. Awesome place to get magazines and other California compliant parts! Sure their inventory is low since January 2013, but what store isn't low? As to prices, the law of supply and demand rule the market place. Demand is currently high and supply is low. Do the math. I've always had great service with them, online. I've been in Solar tactical many times. They have a good selection of guns and ammo and an attitude to go with it and for the novice, they can be intimidating at times. Also I took one of their classes with a friend. Well I was suppose to, my friend had a medical emergency at the last minute and didn't get a refund (he was in the hospital). If they improved their bedside manner, I would give them a higher score. read more
