Easton Ghost Advanced Spring Break Blue bat

So I previously had a less than desirable experience here and had not returned for quite some time because of it.. I happened to be at a softball tournament in Hayward on a Saturday. My daughter's bat cracked and her birthday was the following day so I started calling around trying to find the Easton Ghost Spring Break bat in blue with no luck. I checked online and the best price I could find was $499 through Easton or Amazon but neither had a next day shipping option so I would not have it for her birthday. I decided to give West Coast a call and they confirmed they had it in stock. I went and picked it up and had it in the dugout as a surprise for her bday Sunday morning. I paid $369 out the door for the bat so I saved about $150. Jeff helped me and he was amazing, complete opposite experience than my previous. Jeff even offered to take an over the phone payments in the future and allow me to pick up merchandise from his house which is way closer to where I live. I also purchased a pair of matching batting gloves in youth large for $39.99 which ended up being to small when I went to exchange them for adult medium the price was $15 more expensive. Jeff helped me again and did not charge me the additional $15

Amazing selection of the best bats out there

When we realized all 3 pads wouldn't fit in our car alongside our luggage, we went back in and the employee working was super helpful, easily swapping one out for a smaller size with zero hassle. Both picking up and dropping off the gear was completely seamless. Highly recommend their rental department; I'll definitely be renting and buying from them again!

I would encourage you to ride a bike (tons of bike parking) or take public transit. There is not a lot of parking for cars here, although you could park on the street. I also shop at REI, but much prefer Sports Basement. I even use their free 1lb propane tank refills (after initial purchase of a refillable tank) and I feel that that is a very smart thing to do give that the normal propane canisters are totally non-recyclable and considered hazardous waste, so you cannot and should not even throw them away. I found a hazardous waste disposal/recycle site where I got rid of mine, good riddance. The refillable ones they sell at Sports Basement is the way to go. Sports Basement has a good return policy and for the most part friendly people working there. I did run in to what seemed like an incompetent phone support person however. I had called the 800 number to cancel a preorder on a bike and she acted like she had no idea what I was talking about, and ended up telling me I would have to call the store I had set it for pick up at. It turns out, I was able to cancel the preorder via the 'AI' chatbot on the website. I'm really not sure why the phone rep. wasn't able to help with that.

I called to see if my AAA membership would allow me access but apparently access isn't all year,…read moreonly a few times a year. Thankfully they told me about their camp access special with proof of enrollment. This worked perfectly since I was doing last minute shopping for my son's away wilderness camp! The store was quiet and well stocked like a retail and not an outlet store. Colors and sizes were not a problem. Merchandise was also made for retail and not outlet. I don't recall any children's section, only adult sizes. Clothes, shoes, socks, sleeping bags, backpacks. It wasn't staffed with a lot of associates, but we did get excellent help and advice on backpack and sleeping bag fitting. Minimum 40% discount off retail made the purchases cheaper than Sports Basement or REI. The checkout associate gave me a return pass, so now I can come back to shop for myself. This store is an awesome find!

I first noticed this Columbia Sportswear Store a couple of years ago. I was pretty stoked as it was…read morein my area and being an avid outdoors person, I've often owned/used Columbia gear. But then I go to find out that it is not a store open to the public. *Unstoked*. But rather this is a Company Employee Store. Meaning a company or place of employment has to sign up with them (not really sure what that entails), then with a code/invite, the employees of said company can now enter the store and shop to one's content. I go to find out that my work gets involved in this annually, so I finally get a chance to scope it out. You have to bring the invite (a flyer for us with a code) and some proof of employment (a work badge for me). It is kind of a run-around but there is a benefit to all this. There are 3 glaring benefits from my perspective. 1. Being invite only and not open to the general public, the place is not crowded and cluttered. Very clean racks and displays. 2. Lots of legit inventory, so not a mish-mash of odd sizes and discontinued styles like factory stores. Felt like a kid in a candy store. Quite organized too, easy to find designated sections. 3. There are perceived deals/values here. Now I will point out that the brands sold here ie Columbia, Prana, Sorel etc are premium brand names and are usually not cheap. I actually find a full priced item to be borderline insane/expensive. Any Columbia gear I own are either gifts or things I got on some sort of sale/discount. Here at this store everything inside is 40% off (taken at the register). And even some items with certain highlighted tags, may be discounted even further to say 50-60%. A much better deal considering the quality. And after I went through their register to complete my sale, I was given another pass (good for 3 other guest too) to shop within the next 30 days. And there was a coupon attached where $20 can be taken off if spending reaches $100 (pretty darn easy to do). So another 20% off. They know how to market cuz ya know I want to come back for that. All things I restrained myself from getting on this last trip...will just wait til the next out. Bet!
