I took Intro to PISTOL class 1.4.26. A rainy Sunday . It was $150 total no online fee or anything.Scheduled for 2pm- 6pm. Came early to sign paperwork. thru side door thru the range entrance on the side Rigatonis restaurant is plenty of parking. They had bagels, donuts, coffee and water bottles. Pablo covered the classroom slides then we went to practice safe pistol handling with the instructor on our side watching. It was .22mm SIG SAUER P320 fairly simple to use as a novice beginner. The time in classroom went by fast and wasn't boring at all. Questions are encouraged! The range was fun, we fired 50 rounds. It was a blast no pun intended. All instructors are awesome and made sure we had our form stance and the safe practices were being properly used. I learned a lot today and made me more confident with a firearm. Now I want shoot bigger calibers and different models. They let us keep the TARGET SHEETS afterwards for us to keep and to see how we did .This store is undergoing RETIREMENT SALE. It's NOT closing , it will reopen again but will look different they said when ready in a few months. Thanks to Pablo, Larry and Kevin (Owner). Guns stores are intimidating, they made it fun. The class ended early like 5:35 pm.

Review for range only: Staff was helpful and polite. Range was pretty clean and everything was functional. We had a lot of fun there, but the downside: The air ventilation was subpar in my experience. It really was smokey in there and the business should consider upgrading it. It detracted from the experience noticeably for both my friend and I.

Without a doubt the absolute WORST service at the Fishing Gear Department, new reel damaged non return or change,The notification is very small,The staff did not inform

Don't have much to complain about. The people are nice in my experience, haven't had issues. Now I don't recommend buying ammo here. You can buy bulk for more n cheaper other places. 2 50 rounds 9 mil boxes had 10 bullets missing smh. 96$ for 200 rounds.

Glad this place is going. Hopefully a good operation will come to town. The range was a dump and hazard due to lead contamination.

Ask the Community - Guns, Fishing & Other Stuff

Are they any basic women's firearms courses being offered in the Dublin location? If so what are the dates. Thanks

DR, The updated available Firearms class list for our Dublin store, with registration links can be found on the Trygon website using the following link.…

Is this a good place to rent a firearm and practice shooting? I want a firearm but would like to become more comfortable hands on before taking that next step.

Yes! I tried it once when I was 16, my very first (and so far only) time, they explained what to do and showed me how to do it! My friends come here regularly!

Do you need a permit to purchase ammo?

No, but you need to provide ID for an ammo background check done onsite. Typically the ID is a driver's license, not sure what else is accepted or ID.

Do you guys do test for gun permit?

Hey, Thanks for asking. Our firearms program does include the certification for the BSIS California Guard Card as well as Concealed Carry classes that allow you to apply for…

    Can I shoot my ak47?

I know there is a limit of 2 shots at a time, so definitely not on an automatic/burst The way they…

As I recall the range would take my old ammo is this still happening?

Yes. We will be glad to take it and/or dispose of it.

Does the shooting range have a yearly membership instead of paying each visit?

No. Not at this time. I will suggest it to management and try to get something started.

Ate lead rounds allowed at this range?

Yes. Most people shoot copper jacketed (FMJ) lead rounds. Generally only to old timers shoot lead bullets out of a revolver.

    How much is ammo?

Ammo price & availability changes from week to week. Currently (4/01/22) it's about $ 22 per 50 rds of 9mm (that's with tax).

Do they have gun, eye & ear protections rental?

Yes. Eye / ear protection are $1 ea to rent. Very, very limited Gun rentals at this time. Severe Ammo shortage at this time. Call the Range, to see what is available for the date-time you want to shoot. Always call before going down there to see if…

How long to to get for the 27 dollars you pay?

To shoot on the Range is: $25/per person for an hour on the lane. If no one is waiting, we let you shoot longer. If people are waiting to shoot we have to hold shooters to 1 hr. Targets are $1.25 ea or $1 ea after 3 targets.

Is the range open if so what are the hours?

Yes both ranges are open. Range Hours:…

Is this shop open during the pandemic, and do they have fishing poles? I'd much rather spend my money at a local shop than one of the big names.

I spoke to them a couple of weeks ago. Yes, they sell a big range of fishing poles and equipment. My experiences with the staff have been excellent. They have been knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I recommend giving them a ring, letting them…

What kind of ammunition can I bring?

At many ranges steel core rifle ammo is discouraged. FMJ, softpoint, hollow points are all okay in rifles and handguns.…

    Is AR 15 allowed?

Yes you can shoot an A15 at the range. They did ask me to not send the target all the way to way because it could get stuck and then they have to close the range to retrieve it. Otherwise it was fine to shoot my AR15

What are the hours for the range? Is it always crowded?

    Tue - Fri 10am - 6:30pm Sat 9am - 6:30pm Some Saturdays we have to close at 4:30 pm for cleaning.…

Does this business offer to rent guns to shoot?

Yes they do rent guns to shoot BUT you need 2 people. They will not rent firearms to people who come in by themselves.

Do I need anything other than my ID? I'm 27 and want to get familiar with handguns.

You need your ID to take the 30 question True/False/Multiple Choice Gun Safety Test. I believe it’s $25. I think that you can study online. I took the test without studying and easily passed. It’s mostly common sense questions. After that in order…

    Do they sell fishing licenses?

Are visitors allowed inside to watch? I want to take my dad, but my mom just wants to watch, will she be able to?

Yeah they have a little couch there to....clear windows so she can definitely watch 👌🏼

It was definitely frustrating, but Abraham took my concerns seriously from the beginning. He personally reached out, apologized, offered to restring my racquet free of charge, and even provided a gift card for the inconvenience. What impressed me the most was that he didn't just fix my racquet--he worked to improve the process. When I picked it up today, I noticed they now attach a label showing the string type, tension, date, and stringer. That tells me they're focused on preventing mistakes in the future, not just fixing one complaint. Every business can make mistakes, but not every manager takes ownership the way Abraham did. His professionalism, communication, and commitment to improving the customer experience earned my trust back. Thank you, Abraham, and the Sports Basement team. As well as better quality since it's like a private owned business and not a public one. The service overall was good at this place as the employees were helpful with guiding us to find stuff we were looking for. As well as helping my brother find a new bike for him to ride after his old one fell apart. When it comes to value that is where the problems set in as to why I am giving this place a 4/5. Lot of the stuff in this store is expensive and I do mean EXPENSIVE. It could be close to like 120 dollars for a pair of shoes which seems to be way more than most other retailers. And most of the other equipment could range up to 200-300 dollars as well which can make it frustrating to figure out what to spend your money on depending on the need. At least the store has plenty of equipment to choose from, as well as a range for you test stuff out and other useful features for equipment you want to rent. But I would only go here as a last resort if you can't go to a Dick's or find good pricing.

Haylee was the person who helped me pick out my ammo and I was impressed of her knowledge of the variety of ammo. Anyway, when it came to running my background check, I ended up being rejected. This is the first time that it's ever happened to me so Haylee was kind enough to walk me through that process and gave me the necessary paperwork to get it fixed.
