I purchased my first home defense pistol (SD9VE) here back in early 2020, and the service and knowledge at the time were excellent. Even during the height of COVID when lines were long and demand was high, the staff stayed professional and helpful. I recently came back to use their range and had a great experience. Plenty of parking and the entrance is on the side of the store. It was relaxed, well run, and exactly what you want from a range. This review is for the women's firearms course offered here. I took the course some time ago, and am happy to see they still offer it. This is a very good and comprehensive introductory class on firearms. It's for women only, and I found it to be a welcoming and approachable learning setting, alongside other women invested in taking a proactive approach to personal protection and safety. The class covers firearm safety, use, and basic maintenance. It includes both classroom instruction and practice at the indoor firing range. After the class, you can test out other firearms you might be interested in for purchase. I found the course very useful and well worth the $150 fee. I recommend gifting yourself or any important woman in your life with this empowering course. read more

I took Intro to PISTOL class 1.4.26. A rainy Sunday . It was $150 total no online fee or anything.Scheduled for 2pm- 6pm. Came early to sign paperwork. thru side door thru the range entrance on the side Rigatonis restaurant is plenty of parking. They had bagels, donuts, coffee and water bottles. Pablo covered the classroom slides then we went to practice safe pistol handling with the instructor on our side watching. It was .22mm SIG SAUER P320 fairly simple to use as a novice beginner. The time in classroom went by fast and wasn't boring at all. Questions are encouraged! The range was fun, we fired 50 rounds. It was a blast no pun intended. All instructors are awesome and made sure we had our form stance and the safe practices were being properly used. I learned a lot today and made me more confident with a firearm. Now I want shoot bigger calibers and different models. They let us keep the TARGET SHEETS afterwards for us to keep and to see how we did .This store is undergoing RETIREMENT SALE. It's NOT closing , it will reopen again but will look different they said when ready in a few months. Thanks to Pablo, Larry and Kevin (Owner). Guns stores are intimidating, they made it fun. Tried to get line put on my reel spools at Guns Fishing and More, staff was RUDE, and INSULTING... tried to intimidate me with 'possible damage to tackle', and all other excuses about not being able to mount the spools 'because of the drag adjustment', instead of admitting he JUST DID NOT know how to do the work. I said, look it sounds like you're making every excuse NOT TO do this, so I'll just leave, then he said "no, I'LL DO IT, but if it breaks, ITS YOUR PROBLEM". Picked up my spools and left. This guy shouldn't be in a customer service role. I took my six spools over to Castro Valley Sportsmen, asked about filling them, they asked what test line and what variety, offered me 4 options and they filled ALL THE SPOOLS without a single comment of question. read more

The staff for the most part was rude, and oddly hostile. The only employees who acknowledged or tried to help were the two women who worked here. It is called guns, fishing, and other stuff but they don't have a great selection of fishing items or other stuff. (Assumed to be outdoor gear, or meat preparation items as it is a hunting store.) It's mostly guns which was expected as the name is very straight forward but was disappointed in their lack of fishing gear. I was hoping this would be like bass pro fishing store, as far as it's selection but it is not. It is also not a very visually pleasing store it seems a bit dated. If you're looking for guns ok this place works, but if you're look for fishing gear you will find a better selection elsewhere. read more

11/4/25, brought my son here for his first time shooting on his birthday because I needed to rent a small caliber for him. Called and lady answered and I asked for minimum age to shoot and she told me but never ever said that the range was closed today. Brought my son after school and got there around 1600, proceeded to the back to purchase some ammo, man told me we can't shoot today because they are renovating the range... Seeing the look on my son's face after he found out he wasn't going to be able to shoot killed me inside. Will never set foot in this establishment again and just bring my son and money elsewhere. I had a very interesting experience here buying ammunition on January 13, 2026 around 12:30 PM. To prelude my story, I have a very very un-American last name. So, after I presented my valid California ID, the employee immediately (after looking at my ID) asked to see my passport and made a photocopy of it, which he kept. The sale went through, but a passport is not required for California DOJ ammunition eligibility. What stood out was that the customer right behind me, whose name was about as American/English as it gets, was only verbally asked if he was a U.S. citizen and was not asked for any additional documents. As I said, my last name, on the other hand, clearly sounds anything but American. I'm not speculating about intent, just describing what happened. The uneven treatment and the copying of a passport raises serious concerns about privacy, consistency, and staff training. read more

I completed a 16 Hour CCW Class today. The class offered was by Trygon. Excellent course. It was very informative, challenging, strong need to focus and fun. It was no joke. The pace of instruction was a good tempo, however you better bring your "A" game. The main instructors, Kevin and Pablo were firm on the rules and carried themselves professionally. They shared relevant topic related personal stories that resonated with my split second decision making. I have read a bunch of the reviews for this shop and they seem to be either really bad or really great. I have shopped here dozens of times and sometimes I just go in to look around when I have time to kill between jobs. I've never been mistreated in any way. The gun side of the store seems a lot busier than the fishing side so that is where most of the staff is. Gun conversations do seem to go on forever sometimes so I wasn't surprised to hear people complain about long wait times. The fishing side of the store sometimes seems deserted but, personally, I like to be left alone when I am looking at fishing gear. When I do need help I might have to go and find someone but they're not hard to find. The prices are as good as BPS or Dicks but even if they're a bit higher I would prefer to shop here than either of those places. I've bought a couple big reels for tuna fishing and they cut me a discount on the line and took the time to spool the reels for me very nicely. And, as always, the highlight of my shopping experience is chatting with Amy on my way out the door. read more

First time visiting the range and store and I must say it is this is the only range with a store i enjoy going too and will come back to willing. Range is well maintained and rick is really nice and I appreciate that they don't charge extra for hearing protection. Plenty of cool stuff to rent for california if you choose too but I didn't since I brought my own gun. And I like that as long as your safe no one is going to yell at you like the other indoor range in the south bay. Plus it's the only indoor range in the bay area that allows rifles so that's a plus. Also the store is nice and has a wide selection of firearms plus the great thing Is that everything is ether at or only 15 above msrp but it's usually a little less which is unheard of in the bay area as everyone charges 50 to 150 above msrp. read more

I Just called to ask a general question regarding pricing for a firearm, and the guy I spoke with was EXTREMELY RUDE for no apparent reason. The Perfect Dayte. Destination B. After a satisfying stop at a milk tea shop, you just got to drive 25 minutes to take your partner in crime to get her first experience of a safe indoor range. Plenty of parking, not so busy on a weekday, and two really friendly gentlemen that works there. Guys, gents, and cowboys. Please listen to my advice, surprising your date by taking her to a gun range is probably one of the best things you can do. Just because of the fact that guns, high heels and a woman that can handle herself is just about as sexy as a medium rare wagyu steak at a Michelin restaurant. Let her choose her targets, there's about 10 to choose from. Start her off with a .22 pistol is she shows sign of nervousness. Show her how to use it 1 round at a time. Eyes and ears always before entering the range. But if you got a wild one, jump straight to a 9mm. My favorite sidearm of choice is the Sig Sauer 9mm (SP2022 for example). Durable, reliable, smooth, and very easy to handle. If my partner in crime is about 100lbs, she can put all 10 rounds into the magazine and handle 100 rounds wearing high heels....I can't think of any woman that won't be able to do it. Trust me, it's not that easy to put 10 rounds into the magazine. Less than a hour of fun but an irreplaceable memory. This review is only for the gun range. Solid 4 stars. Even though there's 2 pairs of eyes monitoring the range, I still feel that a lot of customers get away with action movie stunts like rapid firing without control. read more

Then point me to clearance by the door saying they are there. The smugness of the guy in the optic center is just bad energy all around. Second time going to guns fishing and other stuff for their gun range and was extremely disappointed, frustrated, and honestly just embarrassed that someone like Nathan is trusted to sell guns and educate people on how to use them safely. After renting guns to shoot and looking for one to purchase, my friend and I overheard Nathan talking to a CUSTOMER about how he had a loaded 9mm for anyone trying to convert him to Islam. My friend and I (both Muslims) were speechless and immediately left refusing to give them our service. When we got outside we decided to confront Nathan. We went back in and when we reached the counter he was STILL talking about Muslims and how they go boom. Unbelievable. After calling him out for his uneducated, senseless, and distasteful comments, he didn't seem to have the brain power to say anything to show any kind of remorse, which doesn't surprise me if he was that stupid to say those things in the first place. I don't recommend anyone to come to this store, these are the people who sell GUNS. They educate people on GUNS. And this is what they're telling their customers? Nathan obviously had some issues and shouldn't be trusted with the safe distribution of firearms. read more

I called to see if they had a certain fishing product. He said they have it. I drove in from Castro Valley and when I got there they had nothing close to what I was looking for. One guy popped out of the back, made eye contact and proceeded on his way. There were two guys behind the fishing counter so I started waiting for someone to help me. One guy seemed out of it and the other made eye contact with me then started showing fish pics to another person for several minutes while I patiently waited a few feet from him. Finally he could not help to eventually make eye contact with me and finally asked what I needed. These guys obviously don't care and I'm pulling out the R-card on this one. My cousin was right as he got similar treatment. read more
