    Clam Chowder
    Nicolette T.

My husband and I stopped by Sole Soups on a rainy afternoon and were helped by the owner Paul. This spot is definitely more of a grab and go place with no indoor seating but still feels inviting. We both ordered the clam chowder which was light, flavorful, and filling. They offer samples of all the ready-to-go options, so we were able to taste and knew right away the chowder was the right choice for us. You can tell Paul takes a lot of pride in his soups. There are a variety of frozen soups to take home for later which is super convenient. We were genuinely impressed with the flavor and quality and will definitely be back to try more!

Really nice place with amazing staff and tasty fresh hot soups; Atmosphere is very friendly and clean, place has a lot of parking spaces to offer, thus it's located next to Gelson's. I recommend, I will certainly return. PS When there try chili and the chicken broth, my personal favorite.

Krab Salad, curry soup, spring water.

Visiting from Maui and just trying to collect all my thoughts--wasn't feeling my best today. So I made my way to Sole Soups in Calabasas, knowing it would bring a little comfort. The soup and crab salad were amazing as always, and the customer service was just what I needed. Deanna welcomed me with a big smile and helped me find the perfect soup. I even forgot to grab water, because I was so excited to eat. To my surprise, the kind owner Paul, handed me a water bottle on the house. This place has a big heart--it's not just a business that serves healthy and delicious food- It's a place that truly makes you feel right at home. Thank you! You've earned a loyal customer.

You know it's BBQ Season, as their smokers fill the air that makes your mouth just water! There's always a line (a good sign)... and the portions are fair (not great, but not skimpy either). There's always two things when it comes to the barbecue does it smell as good as it tastes does it taste as good as it smells? And in this situation, the taste is not as good as it smells. I've been on this planet for a long time in the last 40 something years have eaten more than my Fair share a barbecue so I can only give you my opinion of a 40 year journey eating all kinds of barbecue from coast to coast. When it comes to their accouchement of sauces, yes they got plenty of hot sauces but no they don't have that many "" sauces or a juice that you can get with what you order. Lastly, all kinds of folks I've met are proud of the meat. They make love to talk about it love to get into the mechanics behind it without of course, giving up their trade secrets you don't get that here. If anything, you can just get people that wanna move the line along and I get it if there's a long line you wanna move folks along, but you can still be friendly about it. During the days that I've been there before the line started it's the same attitude just get your plate. Get your grub and go little to no communication. So if they ever make their chicken, chickens and meats taste as good as it smells, they will definitely get another star out of me, and if their attitude was more friendly and less stuffy, we would finally get that five star review that they should deserve, but due to the things I've encountered more than once it's three stars.

Ok. I've seen this place online and thought to myself "if I'm ever in Woodland Hills, I'm going…read morehere". Well.....today was the day. It's a small Italian deli that hits the way you want it to. To the right as soon as you walk in, there's seats and a table where you can wait for your to go order or to eat there. The entire shop was clean, neat and orderly. It's sensory overload walking in. There's a lot going on. The menu is massive. I knew what I wanted after doing some homework before arriving so I was ready. The lady that took my order couldn't have been more of a pleasure to deal with. I placed my order, paid, tipped and sat down. A few minutes later, I had what is probably the best sandwich I've had this year. I should have sat in the parking lot and enjoyed it but I wanted the elbow room because I knew this was a monster. After I got home and unwrapped this behemoth, I instantly knew it was worth the drive. The Dillinger (which is what I ordered) has Pastrami, Meatballs, Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozz Cheese, Garlic Butter and Marinara Sauce. If there's a better (big back) sandwich, I'll wait for your reply. This was soooooo gooood. In every bite you could taste each ingredient separately and it was an explosion of flavors. I ordered a small cup of their marinara sauce to dip/drizzle on each bite.....couldn't have been a better decision. Worth it. The 3 ladies that were working the front counter (around noon on 4/23) were the best. Just an all around great experience and fantastic food. I'll be back soon FOR SURE!!!!

The family vibe is very present and the impressive bulletin board (Cricca's Community) really brings out the neighborhood feel of the place. It's better than the yellow pages, offering everything from handyman services and guitar lessons, to divorce attorneys and mobile RV repair. But I digress. Did I mention how massive the sandwiches are?! I went with the two most popular items on the menu, starting off with the Al Capone (hot Pastrami, double meat, on crusty bread). This is an excellent sandwich, and the meat is pretty lean - not a lot of fat). I also ordered the Godfather (cold Italian Sub - Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham, Capocollo, Salami, Pepperoni, Swiss Cheese and Provolone). Also, delicious. You rarely get turkey and roast beef in an Italian sub - so good. The service was very friendly and helpful. There are a few indoor tables, in case you can't wait for that first bite. I wish I lived closer so I can visit more often; I would be here all the time. Definitely one of the best sandwiches in LA. If you haven't been to Cricca's, then you don't know sandwiches.

I placed the order Saturday morning for 5 sandwiches via Doordash and they were delivered very quickly. On the Doordash app, you can only choose large size for most of the sandwiches. Only the Italian had the small option. That sucks as I was planning to order mostly small sandwiches, but this forced me to order mostly large sizes. All of the large sandwiches were $15.95, and the small Italian was $12.50. I also ordered two small cannolis for $2.95 each. The meatball sub was still hot when it arrived, and I was seriously impressed by the ginormous size of the meatballs. The bread was barely visible next to the meatballs! See my picture for reference. Most of my friends liked their sandwiches, but the person who got the hot pastrami commented that the pastrami was super bland. I tried a bite and I have to agree. Wouldn't recommend getting this. We each tried a bite of the cannoli afterwards. It was good as well, but I think I'm not a huge fan of cannolis in general. Would probably pass on them next time and stick to the meatball sub.

I do hope to scoop up some of those on a future visit (in season only of course). It does seem they really honor the seasonal pallet of things and from what I can tell most of their produce is local.
