I think the owner was the one who helped us and she was so pleasant to talk to! One thing about Thai food in the area is that it is never consistent. I gave this another shot after 10 years of not eating here and I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the tom kha soup, the spicy fried rice with tofu and the vegan pad see ew. All was made fresh to order and it was delicious. My husband approved . We ordered to go so I don't know about the service but it was ready when they said it would be. Also, as a Mexican food consumer I would recommend the tacos from the next door and add a little of this restaurants papaya salad for a nice surprise. read more

I was craving some Thai and much needed girl time so I met with a fellow yee for lunch during a weekday. We both got the pad Thai lunch special with a mini salad and an egg roll on the side. The dressing on the salad was really good, the roll I passed along (not gluten free) and the pad Thai was a good portion of noodles. It was really good, I ate it all but then again I was just really hungry. The waitress we had was very attentive and really sweet. Our food came out relatively quick but then again it wasn't crowded when we were there. Note that the parking lot is really small since it's in a small lot but there was some spaces open when I arrived. The inside of the restaurant is small as well but they have a good amount of seating throughout. Tables, bench and a little bar spot. There is no public restroom when dining in. read more

Decided to look up a new Thai food place in the West Valley. Thai Blvd bistro is considered one of the highest rated in my area and is great. That is very kind and attentive. I had to have gone through five glasses of water and the staff was quick to refill before I even realized I was getting low. The food is amazing, would specifically recommend the cashew nut chicken and lemongrass soup. I meant she arrived before the dinner rush, but even then it wasn't too loud and there's a nice lighting atmosphere in the restaurant. Will be back for more Thai food. read more

Thai Blvd Bistro, is a "hidden gem" on Vanowen in Canoga Park. There are no fancy signs and it is located in a small crowded strip mall, with limited and tight parking. The restaurant has a small and intimate dining space, together with well appointed tables and decor. I really liked the soft jazz piano music that constantly played in the background. We were here for lunch and ordered two entrees plus two individual rice portions ($3 each). Both the mains arrived well presented with eye catching optics. The Penang Curry with chicken was silky, thick and married well with the protein that melted in your mouth. The Pad Prik King with Beef had great depth, the right amount of oily gravy to impart fullness and the beef pieces were nice and tender. The beans were optimally cooked for crunch and color. Both dishes were bursting with flavors, textures and each imparted distinct and satisfying tastes. However, customer service could have been better. The employees/ cooks here at Thai food are flexible and accommodating with food preferences. I am sensitive to MSG & Oyster sauce. Please just let them know and they have vegetarian sauce options that do not take away from the authenticity of Thai food. The service is always kind, thoughtful and never hurried. Was craving Thai food so me and my friend checked out Thai food in the valley. The restaurant is small, cozy, clean and great ambiance. The decor is cute too. We came at 6pm on a Sunday and it was just us and a mom and her child. A lot of people were ordering for pick up. My order was chicken pad see ewe, crab cakes, and sticky mango rice. I had Thai iced tea with boba. Let's start with the drink. Very tasty and I love it, boba was hard but tasty so I'll give it a 4/5. Chicken see ewe was a little salty but I love it. They allow modifications and I didn't want mine with broccoli. I'll give it a 4.5/5. Also, portion is huge. Easily good for 2 girls but not for men for sure. Crab cakes were 2 huge balls and a side of some salad and mango salsa. Crab cakes although appetizing was very dry and lacks taste even with the tasty mango salsa. I didn't eat the salad because I'm not a vegetable person. 2/5 Lastly sticky mango rice! Presentation was so cute and the taste didn't disappoint even if it's not mango season, the mango is not bad. It's not sweet but it's still good. The rice with coconut milk is sooo yummy. If it's mango season, I would give it a 5 but that day is just 4.5/5. My friend got drunken noodle with broccoli medium spicy and she said it's slightly more than medium spicy. I didn't try it because it doesn't go with my pad see ewe. She also had some soup and I didn't hear her complain or praise it so I guess it's a 3/5 There's not a lot of parking because it's a small strip mall but there is underground parking. Price is median. Expect to spend $20-$30 per person including drinks. No reservations needed! All in all, I would recommend. Will return to check out other food. This was our first time here under their reinvented "Thai Blvd. Bistro" appellation. It was a little early for dinner when we arrived and the restaurant was completely empty. After standing in the front for several minutes, we were greeted by a rather brusque older woman who seated us in the front window of this cozy dining room. As we got quickly situated, she informed us that she would be our server and laid out 2 small paper napkins which we would discover to be the only ones we'd see for the remainder of the evening. The food ranged from good to exceptional. We ordered Spicy Seafood Stir Fry, which consisted of 2 sauteed shrimp, 1 scallop, a bit of sole fish, 1 green mussel, squid and bell pepper with Thai herbs in their house spicy sauce. Unfortunately, the portion verged on embarrassingly skimpy and rice had to be ordered à la cart. Though, In spite of the diminutive serving, the meal had been prepared to perfection and was beautifully presented. The taste was nothing short of memorable; one of the best Thai dishes I've ever sampled! The second dish we tried was the Blvd. Set - marinated BBQ chicken served with sticky rice and green papaya salad. The chicken could have been a little more moist, but was flavorful and of a normal portion. The green papaya salad was enjoyable. We completed dinner with 2 orders of Fried Banana with Coconut Ice Cream. Overall, not a bad dining experience. read more

It's a cozy, Thai place with a great lunch special. I tried the basil chicken and the red curry which were good. Quite standard fare with great flavors. We did a side salad with our lunch specials and it good. There was just one person serving the tables but they were very efficient. For dessert, I tried the mango with sweet sticky rice. The pad thai here is great! I got it with chicken and it's up to par with all the best pad thai dishes I've had. No lime but I didn't feel like I needed it. Also I liked that they gave me chili sauce without having to ask so I was able to spice it up to my liking. I've had the yellow curry lunch special and massaman curry as well but the pad Thai is my favorite dish so far. The massaman curry (medium spicy) wasn't the best I've had but I'm hoping that if I get it less spicy it'll have more flavor. The spice may have took over some of the flavor a bit. The crab cheese wontons were also great and will probably be a must if I get dinner here from now on. read more

Decided to come here and try this "THAI Blvd Bistro" out and boy did we have a negative experience contrary to the reviews we had seen. Pineapple fried rice was very bland and had a distinct curry aftertaste. Not sure why or how but all of our food had this very similar distinct taste. Orange chicken DID NOT taste like chicken very chewy and oddly textured. NEVER will I ever go here again was very disappointed at what we had to pay for this less then mediocre DINNER. read more
