I booked a sugar scrub/ massage and a facial. My scrub/ massage was not good. I got the scrub for 15-20 mins then went to wash off, when the girl came back in, she lightly rubbed me down in oil. My services were done 20 mins early (did have to wait for a bit for her to come back in after washing off the scrub) When I was done, I asked them does the massage not come with it anymore? The lady that gave me my services as well as the manager on duty both said oh no just a light rub down. I did tell her I was done early as well which I got a discount to 88$ for that service (88$ for a 20 mins scrub ok?) I did write a review which the owner Frank called me personally to find out what happened. In said call he did offer me to come back when him and his wife were home to get the service again on them and he would have his wife do it, so it was done correctly. So now I am here writing this review. I wanted to take my bestie for the scrub/massage for her Christmas gift and figured since I have the free one, I will join her (we always go together anyways) We are just booking for May 9th as with life this was the only time we could get in together. Well Frank just called and said he did not offer me a free one and that I got a discount that day. I said OK sure I got a discount but 88$ for a sugar scrub ok whatever. He made it seem like I needed the free service, I don't I can pay for myself but when you are offered a free service for the service you didn't get then to now turn around and change your mind and say you don't remember saying that, is crazy to me. He made me happy in this time so I would take my original review down (which I did after speaking with him as I thought he was making it right, guess not) Needless to say, we have now cancelled our appointment, and we will not be returning to La Vida Salon again!

Today, I decided to visit their spa. I sent an email to book appointment the same day and in a span of five minutes I got a call from Frank to arrange the schedule. I am so glad he accommodated us for the service. I was able to booked a couples massage and also scheduled a hair appointment for me as well same day at 2 pm. Since we are only visiting Windsor for the weekend. For my hair, I chose to get a Balayage, a technique that gives a subtle, blended look. My hairdresser, Marianne, listens to what I wanted for my hair & she. gave recommendations. She spent a good 3 hours on it, and I must say, she did an incredible job, she took time and focused, I like the way she is being nice. The result of my hair service was a balanced and softer look that I loved. The business owner also checked on me from time to time. Next came the couples massage, our first time at the spa. It was truly fantastic, especially for my husband, who experienced a strong Thai massage from a skilled practitioner. My husband was so happy with it. But unfortunately with my massage therapist, I find it is an "ok" service. I would say from 1-10 points , I will give her only 6 points because she forgot to massage my both arms. I had didn't quite meet my expectations like the full body massage. It lacked the desired pressure and technique, leaving me feeling unsatisfied and tense afterward. At first, She was not able to introduce herself, I find her timid and not friendly. The ambiance at La Vida is upscale and the salon feels above average. Clean and smells good inside. They have different rooms for various services, which adds to the experience. While the cost is a bit on the higher side, the top-notch service of the business owners / reception host , my hairdresser and one of the massage therapist who is from Thailand justifies everything. Wifi: Free with password Parking: If you are a new customers like us . There's a few parking spots in the back, a metered front street parking and I think the side streets is a free parking. Overall, we had a great time. I was thrilled with my hair and the massages were simply remarkable. We're definitely planning on returning to La Vida spa and salon in the future. I am usually very disappointed in the quality of the paint job. Usually the paint has air bubbles, I have paint on my skin, and/or the nail isn't fully painted. This is the 1st time I was 100% satisfied. This salon is extremely clean and sterile. I didn't have to ask if the foot bath was cleaned or even request an unused nail file/foot buffer. The nail technician did an excellent job painting my nails. My only complaint is that I wish all nail salons operated with these standards. Unfortunately I will have to wait until my next visit to Windsor to get my nails done again. I live in the USA about 500 miles away & it was 100% worth the drive. I read most of the reviews and was excited and hoping for a great experience. Upon walking in I was greeted by the shop dog which I found was a plus. He was sweet. The lady that checked me in said "you're with me" and not once introduced herself, asked how I was, asked what I wanted or even offered a consultation. I think she may have been an owner but not sure since I have no idea what her name was. She was in the first chair though. Before she started hacking at my hair I showed her a photo which she glanced at for a half second, said "cute" and started cutting. It was completely my fault for not stopping her and asking her a few questions and giving her more guidance but as an experienced professional I would expect that the photo was self explanatory. After she cut and cut and cut my hair and over texturized I am left with a mess. short pieces, long pieces, a line across the back and absolutely NOTHING like the cut I showed her. I have what I would call a weed whacker job on my head. When I left the chair and looked at it before I left I thought', well I'll just style it at home not even realizing what she had done. So besides the hair, here is my feedback. Staff is EXTREMELY unprofessional. One stylist was hooting and hollering, screaming etc. acting completely immature. There were a couple girls their talking personal and eating popcorn at the front desk and not one time did anyone in that salon make me feel welcome. In addition, the place is filthy. I don't think they have mopped or cleaned the floors or fixtures in a year. Corners, edges etc. and I didn't get a good look at the shampoo bowl but that would probably scare me. I'll never be back. I am so disappointed and was hoping for a "forever" salon close to my work and on the way home. Terrible management. Booked a massage through Groupon. Had…read morean issue trying to book the massage. I received a text to confirm the massage the day before at 10:25 a.m.. At 14:55 I received a call from the masseuse the massage had to be cancelled. The following day I was called to see if I wanted the massage which was during cancelled massage time. Mind you I'm doing housework and it was a half an hour before that time. Whom ever I talked to blamed the computer for making these mistakes. She was claiming someone called my phone twice to cancel the appointment the week before. There was NO phone call or message on my phone. Ummm these are cell phones, which keep records of calls. NO compensation for messing up my schedule. An apology blaming computers and other people will NOT cut it. The masseuse offered a free massage for the salon's incompetency.
