This company offered incentives and upgrades to entice a sale. They put in a electronic document and rescinded it two months later just before installation was to begin. The entire bate and switch routine! When it became less profitable for them to follow through they broke their contract and this is now reported to the State Attorney General. I clicked one of the ads off of YouTube on one of my regular stations it was one of the commercials. So you really don't know that it's Solgen Power until after you talk to them because the phone numbers that they call on do not identify who they are. Multiple calls, strictly for sales. My intention was to ask questions find out generic pricing etc. They did not want to talk to me because I actually was going to have several quotes done. And so the fellow nearly hung up on me because I had interrupted their little sales torture that they like to put people through evidently. Very old school hardcore sales. Rather demeaning trying to make you feel as if asking questions was somehow stupid. Which is not the case I understand quite a bit about solar I just didn't know how they functioned but now that I understand when they try and call me back in a month as they suggested after I've gotten my other quotes. Then I'll tell them I just don't want to do business with them. Because if they're that bad on the upfront I can only imagine what they're like if you actually hire them. Very rude, extremely demeaning to women. He actually asked if I wanted to have my boyfriend talk to them. I said no it's my house. More or less he was insinuating that I wasn't smart enough to manage my own personal business evidently. I've done contracting and other jobs where I did project management I've never had anybody treat me in this way and I'm not going to either. After making the mistake of responding to a very misleading ad on instagram this company has been calling me nonstop from a series of different phone numbers. Every time I block one phone number they call from a different one. I have asked several times not to be contacted by email and text to no avail. Do not give your info to this company! read more

I can't warn against this company enough. Nonexistent communication, complete disregard of customer needs. We installed a metal roof so the panels could be affixed without drilling into the roof. They drilled into the roof anyway without mentioning it to us, voiding our roof's warranty. Go with anyone but Solgen. read more

Company lies about time tables, customer support is useless and if your roof starts leaking they will say it's not due to their work. We started our Solgen Solar project in August of2022 We were promised a 14 to 18 week completion. We had them replace our roof to support the new panels and the roof was ready in November. A few days later the roof was leaking. The roofing workers came out to cover the issue with a tarp, saying they would be in contact to repair the leak once the weather had cleared. SIX MONTHS LATER and we are still fighting with Solgen to repair the leak. The customer service is awful, I have called many times asking for updates and have not once had someone from the company call me with an update. Today I took an afternoon off from work to meet with the roof repair team only to have them no call no show. I called customer service again, and they had no information or help for me they hope to have some more information after the weekend but stated that I was more than welcome to call back if/when they were unable to contact me. Do NOT work with Solgen Power for your projects, they will cause you and yours to much stress and anger. Our project started in August of 2022 and is still unfinished June 2023. read more

Buyer beware. We had a virtual consultation to look into having solar panels installed and taking advantage of the tax breaks. My post is to alert consumers to do your research. We were quoted $120k for the panels and a new roof. This quote was before they even came on site, and then proceeded to tell us that even when they do come on site, if we needed less panels, the price would not change - huh?? The salesman wanted us to commit after their 15 minute presentation and then questioned us when we said we would like the weekend to discuss it. In doing research, the proposal of $120k was WAAAY out of whack. Of course the salesman never follow up with us as I am sure he knew he was pitching a ridiculous amount of money. When you look at the cost of an actual solar panel, I truly believe this guy was trying to take advantage of us and would not do business with a company like this. I've had a great experience using Solgen Power. Their installers did a really nice job putting up the panels. We chose to keep the panels on the back and side of the house. We get the most sun there and it looks ascetically better I think. I honestly was surprised at my first electricity bill after the panels had been working for a full month. It was a summer month but my utility bill went down dramatically!! And we have a pool so that was a huge relief! I was hesitant at first about going solar because I don't always like the look of solar panels but the design they did on our house looks really good and the savings just makes it a no brainer for us. read more

BeWare- We are currently in the market for Solar equipment for our new house in WA. We had an initial phone consult with SolGen yesterday- in the past 24 hours we have received over 13 spam calls from home warranty, energy credit grant spammers, and other weirdly "coincidental" spammers. Contacted them and they played dumb about it. Still waiting from a call back from a supervisor. Bottom line- this company is a lease farm and once they have a piece of your info they immediately sell it out regardless of whether you move forward with them or not. Its so unbelievably sad that these companies are trying to take advantage of folks trying to go green. Do your homework folks-there are honest companies out there, just not this one. They were the only company we have contacted so far so its fairly obvious they sold our info. Mind blowing how fast the did it too. Safe to say we will not be using any part of SolGen in our build. read more

My experience started May 2, 2020 was not up and running till December 7, 2020. They had to come out several times to get the plans right. August 13, 2020 I was supposed to have install completed. However plans had to be changed because of the location of my electrical panel. I was told that they would be back out in a couple of weeks to complete the project. I had to hound them till the end of October for them to complete the project. Then it took them several more weeks to provide Pacific Power the inspection and everything needed for connection to the grid. I had to provide all kinds of pictures. Finally everything has been completed!!! However I missed power generation for August, September, October, & November!!! Not to mention the nightmare experience I had with the finance company!!!! read more

This was the first company I contacted about solar installation at our Oregon home. From the beginning we felt pressured to give up personal information by a very laid back (slick) salesman. His first quote was for a system about 4 times the size that any other contractor suggested based on our current and projected power usage. We were also pushed towards a "low interest" financing scheme, in which adds about 30% to the cost of the final system. These guys are so far out there in price and tactics that I felt that I had totally wasted my time talking to them. If you want to solar, go local. I have been getting endless spam calls and texts from this company for weeks. Utterly relentless. They will call 3 times in a row and then follow up with the same text I've gotten 28 times addressed to a (supposed?) woman who submitted an online form using my phone number, either by accident or to avoid the sales spam. The numbers seem to be spoofed--every call is from a random different number in a different area code. Stay away and absolutely do not give them your contact info. From the Yelp and BBB reviews, this is appears to be such a sleazy scam company I'm afraid to reply STOP to the texts and let them know my number is valid lest it be shared for other scams. read more

there is NOTHING good about this company. this place is terrible. did a horrendous job installing and wired it to a power panel that it never should have been. the panel is over 50yrs old and is illegal to upgrade because it is known as a firehazard WITHOUT having a solar system ran through it. they tried to tell me its fine and passed inspection, but i was there during the inspection and the inspector never even went inside the building. after their shoddy install i was having all sorts of electrical issues that they denied causing. ended up having to get the panel upgraded on my own which cost me another $5000. if i knew it was going to be this much of a nightmare i never would have gave them the time of day. read more

Responding to a Facebook ad I called and had the most enjoyable experience with Devin. After spending nearly an entire day to meet the promotional requirements and asking him from our very first 3 minutes on the phone together and almost every other time we spoke on the phone my question remained what are my out-of-pocket costs... Naturally towards end of day he's urging me to promptly sign the documents and that he wants me to do it while we were on the phone. I was not entirely truthful when I said that wasn't possible and that I would call him once they were signed - naturally there were out of pocket costs. I'm fully aware that there would be but he continued to say there would not be once I saw the $180 monthly payment - I called him told him about that he said oh yes I didn't have time to go over that with you - I lightly scolded him as I had asked the question so many times and he just said it's okay it's okay okay that's okay. I made my position quite clear that it was not okay that it was a waste of my entire day and it truly was. So sojin power, either Devin needs to go or you might rethink your training or really do listening to calls for training purposes. read more

After seeing all the negative reviews here and on the BBB site, I'm stunned this company is still a going entity. Had our system installed early 2022. I did not do my homework. The salesman could sell hamburger to vegetarians. I paid over triple what we should have paid for our system. And that's if the system actually output what the engineer said it would. We bought an 11kw system with the understanding that 9.9kw would be peak. Our average on clear hot days is ~7kw. It stopped working completely within weeks of install. I figured it out 2 months later. THERE IS NO MONITORING OF SOLAR PANEL SYSTEMS. You must monitor them yourself. They reimbursed for the electric bill, but that's not the point. The system is not what we agreed to. So we paid $52k ($68k after interest) for a system that, at most, is worth $15k. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. I guarantee, if you do so and are logical, you won't go with Solgen. read more

Coercive sales practice turned us off. We had inquired online and the salesman set up a zoom call to give us his pitch. He was disarmingly nice, but also dismissive of some of our questions, like how much we would save over time. He made assumptions about the future cost of electricity and the amount of power the system would generate without any site analysis. Then he expected us to sign a contract immediately. We told him we had to think about it. But after we emailed him with a few more questions, he never got back to us. If you are going to take on tens of thousands of dollars in debt, make sure you do your due diligence and hire a company you can trust. read more

Initially we were very pleased with the Solgen Power solar power system. However after a year we noticed that we payed MUCH MORE than a "pittance" to Benton PUD. In performing an analysis of power consumption vs solar generation it was clear that the system was significantly under designed. That is, the system produced only 62% of our consumption over 2 years rather than the 94% promised in the initial presentation. After 6 months of nagging the company, they finally took the time to design and propose corrective action. But, they wanted $24,000 to install the make-up system. Rather than just allow us to pay for materials and split the labor, they wanted us to pay the whole cost of the installation. Worse yet, our neighbor that has a Solgen system, produces only 21% of consumption after performing the same analysis. Needless to say, they are also unhappy. I would not recommend Solgen Power. read more

I inquired about the solar program and was immediately contacted by a representative. He provided me with an email address to which I was told to submit a copy of my electric bill, which I did. A sales person (I guess) was supposed to contact us that same day and go over everything -- my husband was working from home that day so I thought, why not -- so we agreed to a 1:00 pm Teams meeting. I asked via text if I was going to recieve a link for this meeting, to which he replied that they never got my bill so they had nothing to build their quote with. He asked me to send the bill via text (WTH???) so I did. My husband was somewhat upset that he wasted his lunch hour waiting for this sales rep, so he asked if we could be contacted via email with quotes and brochures and whatnot. I was told that they "don't do business that way". They a[pparently prefer to subject people to a sales schpiel instead of simply presenting their facts. Okay. I would have gone along with it is the representative wasn't so rude about it. Yes, Nate Montalbo, you are a terrible representation of what customer service should be like, and you just lost a potential customer who was -- is -- very interested in the service/product your company provides. I'll just go to your competitor instead. Congratulations, you win the worst CSR award. Solgen, I tried calling your company directly and ended up in a voicemail box with no way to actually speak to a real live human being. Your company could use better service. read more

So here's the thing, I know I clicked on an ad to get more information, but when you call the first time and I don't answer - don't call back every minute 5 times. I was busy, so I ignored the call - seems sensible, right? No message left. After the 3rd call right in a row I assumed it was an emergency so I answered, politely told the gentleman I was not available and gave him my email address to send over information so I could review it. Five days of the repeated phone calls, call once and when I don't answer they keep calling 4 or 5 times in a row. Finally I asked to have my phone number removed from their call list. They still called back the next day. The gentleman was dumbfounded when I rudely told him to take me off his call list again. I was interested in information, however if you can't respect my time during the day when I am working, continuing to harass me by repeatedly calling back multiple times right after you just called, not leaving a message - you don't deserve my business. read more

This company is dishonest. They will lie and take advantage of you. I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and with the Washington Attorney General. I signed a contract with Solgen Power, LLC. on 10/07/2022 after a conference/video presentation call. The contract was signed electronically. I had a bad feeling right after the call ended. I looked on line and found a number of negative reviews/complaints. Within hours I texted the salesperson and invoked the 3 day Right of Cancel clause in the contract. He acknowledged my desire and he said that he would take care of it for me. The next day he assured me that he had canceled the contract and encouraged me to visit the companies On line Portal for further inquiries. I have had numerous contacts with a Field Rep named Tomie Villagarcia via an online chat room. He initially assure me not to worry and that a ticket had been submitted to the companies "Cancellations Team". The 3 day window for canceling the contract has now passed. I have contacted Tomie several times now and his last reply to me stated. "Nothing to worry Gerald our team will be assisting you regarding the cancellation of your account so all you have to do right now is to wait for them to contact you." I replied, "How will they be contacting me" and Tomie replied, "They touch base with you either through email, SMS or call, so please keep your lines open." I am pretty sure that I am being lied to and that this companies intention is to follow through with the installation without canceling the contract as I directed them to and the so called "Cancellations Team" is a ruse to stall things and placate me until they can follow through with their Installation plans. I have copied all of my conversations with Tomie and have saved them to a Word Document as proof that they are stalling me. It is now 10/13/22 and I have heard nothing further. I provided a copy of my conversation with Mr. Villagarcia attached to my complaints to the AG and to the BBB. I hope they can negotiate something helpful for me. They promised me from the beginning 102% of my power bill.. I told him that we don't need LEDs and we live in a house that we don't need to add more insulation to as our home was built within the last 10 years it isn't out of date and it's up to code. After signing for 102% we found out we are only getting 95% because they have about 7% accounted for when you change all of your light fixtures and add insulation. Strangely enough my neighbor has the EXACT same house and has the same amount of insulation and has led lights and rhe even gave him more led lights yet his percentage is at a 0%. Just to top that off they promise you a app where you can see each individual panel working. It took a little bit but they gave that new app to me that will currently cost you a whopping $249. Which you'll need after the 10 year warranty is up. Without that new app you would never know if your panels are working or not. The app they give to you for free does not do anything but gives you a pleasure knowing that you might be making power. The app was suppose to let you know and warn you if something is wrong and so far it hasn't. I had to see it for myself by getting into the app so I can see each individual panels making power and one was way off from the others. There is absolutely nothing blocking this particular panel. After just over a month one of my panels are not working it is under 80% threshold. Call them on Sunday and I had to leave a message. I called Monday morning about it they said they'll call me back that afternoon. I had to call them myself again. Even when I called back that afternoon they still didn't schedule me a time when someone's coming to my house to replace or even look at the panel. And about that 102% I am supposed to be at, they said they can redo my loan and put more panels on my roof to get me to my 102%. And then told me that they can't promise 102%. Yes I know the sun is not always going to be out every day but on paper my kilowatt per hour is 10800+or - and the solar is only at 10300+or- for the year. An electrician they have working for them can't even read a diagram or read the install papers with it and hooked up electrical stuff completely wrong. In all fairness they are nice people especially putting up with me, but so far I've been lied to. And they come back to me saying they can't promise stuff!?! So now I am on week two waiting on their answer. But so far I don't think they're going to help me. Contract was signed for a 7.8 system which is not 102% of my yearly electric. And yes I will say it again I know they can't promise me exactly 102% because of the weather but on paper you can! And I will say maybe I am overreacting and they will help me with my 102% but as of now two weeks later this is what I am getting. Hope I will get better answers soon read more

While I'm happy with the eventual product, this company has a big problem with communications, both internal and with its costumers/clients. We started the process of getting a solar system with them back in March of 2020 with a few Zoom meetings, getting an agreement by April. Installation didn't happen until early July and we were not able to power on the system till then end of September, one day before we had to start payments for it. The delay in powering on is mostly due to the system failing multiple inspections, and Solgen's inability to communicate with its installers what needed to be fixed. After the first inspection showed that there were numerous wiring errors and no paperwork on sight Solgen sent out an apprentice to take pictures and then scheduled a 2nd inspection, which failed. After scrambling they finally got a crew out that dropped off the paperwork, and did the repairs, but there were weeks of idle time. As of writing this they are still not finished with the last bit of the system, installing a sense monitor, and have not heard from their representatives. We're online and past all inspections, but haven't heard from Solgen in about a week. read more

Do not Use Solgen!!! I was happy to get on board with the solar revolution. It really dose change our power consumption and how we can get closer to a 0 carbon footprint. Be that as it may, Solgen was the worst to partner with as as company. I have had my solar panels for 4 years now. Solgen's sales person sold me a full set 52,000 dollars worth as they told me. That was the last I heard from him. The sales person said we would get the bonus from Washington state and the city in time to pay the down payment on the loan for the project. Solgen installed it a month after they said they would. Forced me to sign completion documents prior to completion and told the bank they wanted the funds right away. They then told me that I had to turn the system on and a person would be by to show us how to do that. No one called or contacted me for a month. Our system was not turned on in time to make the state bonus. We missed the down payment and now pay over 15% interested for an already inflated product. In early 2022 I noticed two panels were not producing power. I called Solgen. No reply. I called the solar monitoring service that comes with our system Enphase. They used their systems to decide to send me two new Microinverters for the panels that were not working. I called Solgen to get them to install these after I received them in April 2022. No one was able to help me set anything up over the phone. I started emailing them and sending them messages vie their website. In August I got a reply. I was told almost daily that they were having trouble setting the schedule to come out. The first people to come out and "install the microinverters" did not even show up. Then next time they showed up and installed them this was in late October. After installation the system was not showing them as working even after waiting the 15 mins for reboot and Enphase's system to report them. I was told that the lights were all green down on the box for the system so they should be working but to just wait longer for them to show as working in the Enphase system. The next day I checked again and they were still not reporting. I sent another message to the same customer service person who had finally got someone to me to fix them. He sent me daily messages about how it was waiting on scheduling to come out and fix them. Weeks went by. Someone called my husband's phone (he is the emergency contact for our account) to say they had a time to come out. He did not answer and they left him a message. I messaged the customer service team and said my number should be used. Someone called my husband and he answered this time and told me they were coming the next day to fix it. This was December that this was suppose to happen but as you can guess no one showed up. Early January 2023 I was still telling them to stop calling my husband to set visit times for the thousandth time they sent another message to my husband that they would be coming to fix the no-reporting. They showed up and began testing the panels. It was so late in the day before they had gotten anything done Enphase told them that they needed sunlight to help them and it was sundown. I communicated that with the customer service team who told me it was waiting on scheduling again. We waited another 2 weeks before they had a team come out who had left a message once again on my husband's phone who simply filed tested the things in the sunlight to see if they were working. It took them 4 hours but they ended up switching in new panels for the fix. I hope I never have to ask them to do their job again. DO not Use SOLGEN if you have a choice!! read more
