I received a text today that I would owe $550.00 +3% if I used a credit card for an upcoming appointment and to call with any questions. I called to ask why so much, my deductible has been paid for some time now. After going through a frustrating phone menu and being placed repeatedly on hold, I was told that my insurance had been verified and I've not met my out of pocket or my deductible, that I should call my insurer. After a 3 minute call, my insurance confirmed what I already knew, my deductible is paid. I called Houston MRI Cypress back, and again was repeatedly placed on hold. I voiced my findings to the person I had spoken with previously and asked her to contact my insurance company to re-verify, that the info they were given was incorrect. I was interrupted, not allowed to speak and very curtly told that my insurance had already been verified and couldn't be changed. I was told that I needed to call my insurance company to have them call Houston Cypress MRI to make arrangements to speak with one of their insurance specialists. We both raised our voices and talked over one another. I hung up. Why is it my job to make calls and arrangements for a provider to verify my insurance? If the verification had been done correctly in the first place, this would not be an issue. If I had not been interrupted and had been spoken to politely, I probably would have done it. Fast forward to the next morning. I received a call from the interrupter to see if I wanted to move my appointment up. This conversation was no different than the last. I later spoke with Alba, a manager who also refused to call my insurance. She insisted that I initiate a three way call. I decided to play along. While starting the three way call with my insurer, I was informed that not only had my deductible been paid, but I had a zero co-pay with Houston MRI. We made the call. Bridgette answered and immediately put us on hold. We held until we couldn't any longer and hung up. Customer service died a long time ago. Houston MRI Cypress is a shining example of that.

No one ever gave me any instructions s that I couldn't eat or drink for 4 hours prior to the procedure. I had eaten, so we had to reschedule. This morning I went in for my rescheduled appointment. Two different technicians attempted an IV for my contrast and neither of them could find a vein, so they sent me home again. They told me that I was possibly dehydrated and I should have been drinking water. Are you kidding me? Oh, and they charged my credit card for a procedure they could not do! I would never use this company again!!

I was in and out, and the service was so great! The person who took my imaging was kind, gentle and calm. This was my first time visiting this location, and unfortunately, my experience at the front desk…read morewas very disappointing. The young man who checked me in spent most of the time looking at his phone and sending voice messages about things that were clearly unrelated to work. His customer service was minimal, and he showed very little courtesy toward patients. While I was waiting, I also witnessed him interrupt an older lady before she could even finish saying her name, abruptly asking for her ID instead. It came across as rude and unprofessional. Fortunately, not everything about my visit was negative. The CT technologist who performed my exam, Forest (like the movie), was outstanding. He was friendly, patient, professional, and very communicative. He explained every step of the procedure, made sure I felt comfortable, and found my vein on the very first attempt, which is usually very difficult. His professionalism and kindness completely changed my experience for the better. The front desk staff creates the first impression of a medical facility, and I hope they receive additional training in customer service and professionalism. On the other hand, Forest deserves recognition for providing exceptional patient care. He is a great asset to this facility.

She gives you the information you need and speaks to you in a soothing manner. She always was full of hugs. That made me feel so good at such a dark time in my life. When you are her patient, it is not the best time in your life. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and she was recommended to me by my surgeon Dr. Bonefas. I told my BFF who I was seeing. Low and behold, my BFF had taught Dr. Joyner's children. Small world. After meeting her, I could totally see myself hanging out with this woman. Her personality is delightful and she has a great sense of humor. I know you would not think that at a time like this your doctor would be cracking jokes. She wasn't, it was me. My humor kept me going. When it reached a point that I could no longer take the pain to go to work, Dr. Joyner wrote a note so I could work from home. No one needed to hear me moaning and groaning. I really was hoping that I could make it the entire time and be in the office. Yeah not so much. In addition to her being so knowledgeable and kind, her staff is amazing. From the receptionist, her nurse Suzanne, the techs (sorry guys I can only recall one name) Dale and the two gals. Everyone was great. Going to radiation therapy is no walk in the park whatsoever. And Dale was on the money when he said it will get worse before it gets better. Good golly! I called and spoke to Dr. Joyner and she is going to write another note. She made sure I had meds to help with the pain and gave me further instructions on what to slather myself with. It is a journey. If you are looking for an oncologist/radiologist, I cannot imagine anyone in the Houston area any finer than Dr. Joyner. She is a doll and knows her stuff! 1,000 Halley puppies wag their tails and look for the techs and yell "Who's Deanna?" (FYI - I said a line from The Walking Dead each day before I was zapped to signal that I was ready. I tried to keep my sense of humor going even under adverse conditions.)
